I have also told providers about TER and in one instance showed her her reviews. The lady said she knew she had reviews but had actually never seen them.

She was a little surprised by the detailed accounts but overall seemed pleased with what had been written.

Have you ever mentioned TER, or any other site, to a provider and find out that she had no idea that these sites exist?

What was her reaction?  Yours?

When I first began this hobby I had no idea a site like this existed until a provider told me about it. I’ve been here ever since.

I told a least one provider that was new to the business about TER and she was grateful because she thought the men here on TER were more sophisticated than Craig’s list clientele. After a couple of great reviews (9’s + 10’s performance) she never went back to Craig’s list again.

She never wanted to be reviewed and is still UTR.  For the most part though, if they're not already here, I don't see them.

What amazes me is the number that must not know of it because I've sent inquiries to providers I've seen reviewed here with my TER handle so they can look at my reviews and the providers and they'll email back asking me to send references. To which I ignore those requests as a rule.

I like to know a guy's TER handle- both so I can check his posts and reviews and get an idea of what he likes, and also because I find TER gents more courteous and respectful in general, as they tend to know the etiquette of the hobby. Also, I require to know TER handle if someone wants to take advantage of my TER discount. That said, I always require either work info or a reference. Just because he has reviews, doesn't mean that these gals are recent appointments, or that they remember him, or that they are willing to vouch for him. I prefer that a gent asks the woman to be his reference so she remembers him and is prepared for the request- I also require a six-month time frame, as any longer than that is not a good indicator of present status or behavior. So, just because I still require screening, does not mean I do not know about or participate in TER- quite the contrary! Just another way to look at it,

I actually found a provider that doesn't even have a computer!   She had a friend post some pics of her for her on a local ad board, but she hasn't even seen it, and has no idea what review boards are.  She is a bit older, and European, which might explain it, but she has been in the biz for quite a while, has never had any LE problems, and gets new clients all the time (me included).
