What are the signs that someone you are with has herpes?

If they show the signs, have you ever left the appointment?  If not what did you do differently?

If you didn't notice until after, when do you know if you have caught it?  Does it show up in a few weeks?

I would ask a doctor those questions. There are quite a few different types of herpes.
