Re: Grandfathering the rate card. A question mostly for the providers but anyone is welcome.

This is a good question.  I have one Fav who had a rate increase.  I noticed the increase & asked.  She was kind enough to grandfather me.  As you knnow, there is no set rules whether a lady chooses to grandfather or not.  

My impression is that the bit about never discussing rates...  applies mainly to first dates so as to avoid soliciting charges from LE.  Still we all flirt with the illusion.  

Once we know each other, there should not be that concern.  With a change in service catagory, one would have to ask briefly.  "I was thinking about an ON.  What would the  donation be?"  No haggle, just accept what she says.

There's a point on grandfathering I don't know and haven't been able to find via searching the forums.

Say you normally see a gal for 2 hour sessions.  And she raises her rates but grandfathers you.  All is good.  

But then you decide you want another type of session such as an overnight.  What is customary?  To pay what an overnight is on the current dance card... or what an overnight would have cost when you were grandfathered?

Or is there simply no usual rules on this?

I have a good amount of experience as a hobbyist but I am a bit cautious to reveal my real handle.  I don't want to come off cheap and I don't really want my handle associated with "rate questions".

I look at it like this...the product you purchased at x price has been raised to y...you get to keep x price point and anybody else after the raise pays price y.

You choose another product available and the going rate is z. Had you purchased z before the raise in rates, you would be entitled to the old rate. Didn't purchase the product before the raise...you pay what is now stated.

That's just me but I'm absolutely sure you'd be able to talk her into giving you the old price she charged for the service you want but have not had from her.

What you said is logical and fair for both parties.  Consequently I would never try talking her into giving me the old price she charged for the service I want but have not had from her.

If any of my old friends has a concern about anything in our relationship, they will communicate with me. Likewise, if they would like to try a new toy or position, they will communicate.;) Communication is key!

With that said, a friend of mine experienced the same dilemma you describe in your post. His solution was to communicate with me. He just said he wanted to make sure he brought the appropriate donation for an ON. I factored in his grandfathered rate and told him what to bring. It was quite simple.

Just communicate with her. She will appreciate your willingness to be open with her.

With this economy I have been seeing rates drop drasticly myself included.

So when I see this question I have to giggle. If her rates were to lower would you still pay her the previous rates you were accustom to?

Whats a little talk between friends. Would it not be better to ask than have her feel disapointed in the end. Hard feelings can make even the best friend not so good.

Check to see if she has an overnight rate on her website and if so are you comfortable with it. If so you have now made a good choice and no need to ask.
