I'm leaving the hobby due to illness and appreciate all the friendships I have made here. Thanks and good luck to all of you.

Sneak a blackberry under the covers in the hospital if you must.

When you get better, you can pick up right where you left off.

Sorry to be so frank, but I'm sure this is what is on everyone's mind and no one is saying it.  We are all interconnected in that sense and I hope this illness is something you can overcum.  I couldn't resist that one.

No, lol.  It's liver cancer and I know of no connection with the hobby.  I'm off to have the wizards and warlocks look at me this coming week and come to a treatment/prognosis determination.  Thanks for asking; I hope my answer eases your mind.

any energy at all, and their is a likely candidate, to ask for a mercy f***. I think you get one each shift.
Seriously, get a box of candy and put it by your bedside with a sign "for the nurses" but don't let them take it into the nurses station. They will come in every 15 minutes for a piece of candy and check on you. Costs about a 2 pound box per day but well worth it. Plus they will flirt with you which helps the spirits immensly.
Good luck, fellow travelor. Hurry back.

Wow, Beret, that Box of Candy idea is about the cleverest thing I've heard in a long time! Dickus, you listen to Beret.

I agree with you - it's always good to have the nursing staff in your corner. You could also extend this to Wait Staffs, Secretarial Pools, Tech Support,Board Moderators - all the dedicated men and women who make our days easier.

Wishing you a successful treatment and recovery.  Having spent 3+ months in a hospital bed I can say from experience that the box of candy is a GREAT idea.  In addition, the nurses make or break your stay in a hospital.  If you treat them nice they normally take good care of you.  I had a private room across the hall from their station, so when they would take a break they started coming in to hang out and watch TV with me.  Great ladies, made some long term friends, and the mercy BBBJTC was amazing (of course that didn't happen until I got out of traction...thank you drunk driver!)
Again best wishes and keep you spirits up!
