Yes, I find myself climbing walls if I can't keep up with every post on every board there is.

The only thing that is better is being with a provider, and even then I've been known to sneak out of bed early in the mornings and log in.

I don't "jones" after not having TER for days at a time, but I do get a certain "high" off the information contained in these pages. Now, if you stick around for a time and go to the local meet and greets, you'll get to know the people in this mostly anonymous community. And like anything, (especially when you are self-employed) be careful not to overdose on this because most of who you are reading about you'll never meet and it can be unrealistic to think that you can hobby with all of the lovelies here and there... but for pure entertainment and some real funny shit, this cannot be topped...

Compulsivity and addiction do apply in some cases.  I know some hobbyists who have had to look at that.

All the same signs of compulsivity apply to TER and hobbying as do to other addictions.

If you find no control over the time and resources you devote to this, and take increasing risks regardless of the consequences..take a look!

I think all hobbyists, at least speaking for me, end up spending some time evaluating what they are and are not getting from the hobby and over time adjust their expectations to match reality.  While very rarely close relationships develop with a provider and/or other hobbyists participating, for the most part, the reality of it is you are paying for a limited time illusion and the friendships we build are temporary and to a certain extent "phantom" since at least in the posts/discussions on the board they are with mask screen names and the amount of personality the person behind the name allows through his/her posts- some of which is created and wishful thinking!

So the bottom line for me is as long as I can enjoy it for the entertainment value it has, expect nothing more from it- especially any "cures" for my life- and as long as I can control the time and risk I put in to it, I am here and enjoying!

And some side benefits have cropped up- increased confidence, and some friendships within the confines of what it is we do here!

No, I'm not addicted, just abusing (as in the clinic difference between abusing a controlled substance vs. being addicted). Just kidding, but I'm in much the same circumstances as you. I find my need for TER has to do with reducing the feelings of isolation as a new hobbyist. Did I get that right; where is that integrated TER spellchecker when I need it? Though the relationships are anonymous, I still feel a sense of camaraderie and it sems to be the best research tool for meeting up with providers.

Very interesting community- tied together only by their interest in commercial sex.

Makes for a big tent....not only in their pants...

I used to just snort a little TER at parties, then i started cooking it down and smoking it....

Then injecting it as often as I could afford it... Now I suck dicks in a back alley for enough cash to pay my wifi bill just to stay logged on 24/7...

If it wasn't for TER, I wouldn't exist...

(However, I don't consider myself "addicted", besides admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery...)

I do log on daily but rarely on weekends.  So I don't think I qualify as "addicted"... but I do see what you mean.  

The boards are a great "social gathering of like minds", so it does impart a pseudo community feeling.

I have times when it is the first thing I do then there are times when I grow bored with it and do other things. Right now I am kind of into it again.

Ter is like a great novel that you can't lay down so enjoy it.

Because of TER, I have been able to maximize my experiences and minimize my errors.  LG and a number of male/female posters have provided humor, insight, and wisdom.  At the same time, it is healthy to be reminded that TER, just like society itself, is riddled with assholes.

OFF's pics just make it hard (pun intended) to not log on several times a day.
