I was worried they would be asking me why I was trying to hide my toll crossings ... I mean it’s pretty obvious I want to hide my tracks. Yet, that is the smart thing to do and ask.

I posted this on the NY board as well. Sorry if double posting.

Anyone know if you return your E-Zpass tag and get a new one for the same license plate/car if the toll history is clear or does the toll history carry over since same plate. I used to love the anonymity of tolls when you paid cash for each trip.  Thanks!

Call your state's EZ Pass customer service center and ask them.

Why would they care? Why would they necessarily know that is the reason for you asking the question?

Maybe you have a business and you want to keep the records. Who knows?

It seems to me that the history stays with your account, not the tag. When I look at my NY EZPass account it lists all the transactions on the account and one field on each entry is the tag number.

Just set up a different account with a different tag. I don't see why you can't do that.

That is a good idea. Perhaps a second tag? I had not thought of that. Thanks for your insight. And true - I could be asking in relation to my business travels

keep your drug business UTR.   They will never suspect you are REALLY seeing working girls.

Big brother is watching in more ways than ez pass.  Most tolls re paid by license plate either through your pass or by mail.

I preferred Big Brother to stay off the toll bridge ... plus all those toll workers - what happened to them I wonder??  I was happy paying each trip .. ezpass cramped my style. I do have one way of bypassing the toll on the Henry Hudson off Dyckman Street through the Inwood neighborhood. But that’s when I would go to Manhattan

Unless you have another car, I wouldn't set up a different EZ Pass Account with the same car. It will look suspicious having the same car with two different plates.
