The point I think the OP made was a picture gets our attention. I will take the time to click once or twice, but a picture in the ad will definitely get my attention.
I was looking over the other cities board hoping to see a touring lady posting for Salt Lake and clicking on some of the ads to see pictures of some of the beautiful ladies in this hobby. I noticed (not for the first time) that many ladies don't run a photo on their ad.
Men are often very visual creatures so I would think a sexy photo would increase bookings. The point of an ad is to increase business. I would think a photo would be a no-brainer.
So why aren't some ladies posting photos in their ads?
Families, an outside business, community, it's a no brainer. I've seen a number of ladies who hide their face, never had a problem. When the looks are rated 8,9 or 10 and hobbyist you respect rate them high in the looks department, I don't have a problem seeing the lady. If it bothers you, just move on!
..... I often wonder who would book a lady sight unseen? In this lifestyle with so many choices why would someone ever call. Lady with no photo. Seeking a blind date is for the adventurous.
I understand the need for privacy but I would guess that, that is what the blurred face is all about.
Whenever I open a profile with no photo attached I move right along to the next one.
Sorry ladies !
Posting a pic in an ad is not a requirement and no one is talking about booking someone sight unseen.
Most professionals will have websites that can be reached with two clicks. Click on the review link next to the name in the ad, then click on their website in the profile. Then you may have to click one more time (oh the horror!) to see their photo page.
So some may not post pics in the ad. I say if a phucker is too lazy to click three times they don't deserve to get laid.
Why should I? I will spend hours screening someone, why should shopping take as long? It is not about laziness, it is about time management. My time is worth a lot to me, hunting down photos of a lady I may not even find attractive is a waste of my time, even if it is only a minute or two.
I can and do move on to the next ad just as fast as I can look up her web site. Why should I hunt down a lady's photo that is to lazy to post a photo to make shopping easy for me. It is my money I will hobby by my rules. It is easy to weed out lazy providers that way. Who wants a lazy provider? Even is a hobby hell hole like Salt Lake there is more then a few ladies willing to take my money.
And if your homework and research isn't worth 3 or 4 extra minutes then you're foolish. You're probably the guy who shows up for the 4pm at 4pm, and starts getting dressed at 4:59. I'm assuming since time seems to be such an issue and you have such little to waste.

If you see an ad for a cafe or a movie and the ad did not intrigue you at all, would you spend two seconds more to find out more about it? I would not. The lady get her ad to get in the door and thats it. That is unless some other source like a board post or word of mouth turns my head and makes me want to take a second look at her.
The whole point of an ad is to pipe the customers interest. If it fails to do that, as a customer, I don't waste anther second of my time. Not just with escort ads but it goes for any ad on any product that I don't need. Any business person knows the primary point in any ad is branding their product, getting the customer's attention and informing them where they can find out more. Any ad not doing these things is a failure and a waste of everyone's time.
Yes I do show up exactly on time out of respect seeing most ladies don't want you to be early and it is disrespectful to be late. But I am in the area 15 to 20 minutes before I need to be there in order to guarantee a timely arrival. And yes I do end my sessions on time, again out of respect. But none of that has to do with my unwillingness to waste time.
Just so you know I spend lots of time doing homework on the ladies I do see, just not on the ladies who fail to catch my attention. It is not like if I don't find anyone I want to see I will be going without. I don't need to hobby. It is just that for me a hobby, nothing more.
P.S. It takes 5 minutes to put a photo on a hosting site and link to it in an ad. About what it takes for me to click to her site, find the button to her photos. It is not hard at all to do at all. It is as easy as putting a link to her site. It takes longer to write the ad then it does to link a photo to it. All you need is a digital photo and a web connected device capable of surfing the internet.

Besides, it was written very well and not a single misspelled word.
Good job, Darth Scoed!

Sorry ladies !
Isn't a post posted by me with good spelling and English a sign of the end of the world? I am scared. I need a lady to hold me and comfort me. Any of the ladies here willing to volunteer?

The world is safe again.

Well sometimes finding a hosting site is an issue, for example my site is designed in flash and I don't advertise anywhere, and I refuse to have a image host. How hard is it to click on the providers link if she has one?
The point I think the OP made was a picture gets our attention. I will take the time to click once or twice, but a picture in the ad will definitely get my attention.
I do understand the image hosting issue now you bring it up. I really didn't think of that reason. Thanks.

Backpage especially is constantly changing their rules for what can be shown in ads. A photo that she's used before can suddenly be deemed unfit, and she may not have a replacement handy. Other times, technical incompetence appears to be to blame.
Whatever the reason, if I can't get a good look at her, I just move on. I learned early on that a string of "Model Material" ratings can turn out to be only marginally attractive in my view.
He wasn't asking about BP.
He said he was looking on the other cities board, on this site and wondering why there was no pics in the ads.
So rejected pics is not the issue, neither is another website.
Nice paragraphs.
And describe the ladies picture to you.

So why aren't some ladies posting photos in their ads?
Too dangerous.
Even with a pic, I was disappointed recently. Because the provider was 35 lbs heavier than when she took her pic, and her skin was rough as sandpaper. Scary.
Because I am a very curious fellow and was actually paid to do so by (of all things) a church group, a few years ago I booked a wide variety of providers mostly from CL/backpage ads. Among these were included ladies who had no pictures, etc.
Now, to clarify, I am NOT making any blanket statements about providers who advertise generally in those venues. I have seen ads in those venues from some of the finest women ever to have entered the profession. So the following statements are not blanket. Rather, they pertain to a specific subset of providers that I saw for non-sexual/purely research purposes.
The primary reason they did not post photos in ads was that they could not figure out how. Another reason was lack of finances to afford a camera. (At the time phones with built-in cameras were less common.) Another reason was general lack of Internet access -- it was some boyfriend or whatnot who had actually posted the ad. Another reason was lack of a computer and they were constrained to only use of Internet Cafe type places.
This is why they didn't have pictures.
I am quite certain there are cases where a provider who is normally very expensive and would never want to lower her rates on her primary site has re-branded herself on backpage at a lower rate. She wouldn't use the pictures for fear of being recognized. I've been told that some providers do this, and it can make sense.
And then there are those who, as Lauren suggested, have websites that they believe potential clients will be able to find, etc.
But in the case of the providers I interviewed who had no photos, the reason was essentially lack of resources or lack of knowledge.
(Yes, the church paid them (via me) for their time and companionship while I interviewed them. No, the church did not use the material I gathered because overall it did not support the pre-ordained outcomes they had expected. At least I got paid. LOL)
What a phucking surprise!
A story about YOU? Phuck that! LOL
"Wow. Yet another story about you

What a phucking surprise!"
Those that live in barren shells,
Empty suits filled with despair,
Silently weeping, lifes not fair,
Can not fathom journeys taken,
By those that live their life, with flair.
You envy him so much you probably want to stick your tongue down his throat while tickling his balls.
Or, is it the other way around?
Phuck_That,"You envy him so much"
Respect isn't envy.
You wouldn't understand.
You are but a sniveling boy,
Playing the placebo man.
It's not difficult to surmise.
The Envy is yours,
You have no disguise.
While I watch, with no surprise,
You've gone far beyond,
Comrades high fives.
Drooling on your man,
Squeezing his thighs.
Your partner is but a toy,
Giving you encouragement, with great joy.
Don't let me, get in your way.
Back to your man boy.
Run off and play.
I presume it was more than about photos or the lack thereof.
Maybe start a new thread?
... it was predominantly anecdotal.
That is, I was paid to go interview a bunch of providers.
Right there, there was heavy duty selection bias because most would not agree to see me. So I was constrained to only see those who agreed to see me.
This means my sample was limited to providers who didn't mind being interviewed for a study. (Being paid, of course.) So the better part of providers were excluded.
This is sort of the same problem as LG's studies -- the up-front self-selection bias makes them unreliable as representing anything beyond that subset.
The church (surprise) had an agenda, and that agenda was reflected in the questions. Of course, I added my own for my own information.
Also, to be honest, the data I gathered would very much shock and offend. I would be very concerned that no amount of disclaimers would keep people from trying to extrapolate the data to apply to providers (and in some cases hobbyists) generally, seeing me as applying such views generally, and basically shooting the messenger.
People in general take these matters far to personally, and the potential for damage far outweighs any good it would do, given that the data is not validly applicable.
So I have to self-censor on this one, at least on a venue of this sort, in the interests of tranquility.
I need to join a church or get a government grant. I think a study of this nature could have tremendous effect on today's economy.
If not at least I'll get laid a lot on someone else s dime.
That is what websites are for. I don't know how protected photos are that are included in TER posts, but smart women are careful about what sites they post their photos to so that they maintain control over their photos.
I would think simply clicking on the website link the lady includes with her ad is a no brainer. Just sayin.
Anything that displays on a screen can be captured. A lot of those "right click protected" sites are utterly useless in terms of any real protection.
Anytime something displays on your screen, you can use the "Print Screen" button, paste the results into a a graphics program such as GIMP or MS Paint, get rid of everything but the picture and -- shazam, you've eluded the anti-copy stuff.
A lady shouldn't put anything out there on *any* publicly viewable website that she is concerned will be copied.
My 2.5 cents.
'A lady shouldn't put anything out there on *any* publicly viewable website that she is concerned will be copied."
Also, the swirls over a face or blurred photo, can easily be removed to show her eyes and smile, by someone who has no forensics skills.
Some times the ads state " click on the web site link" and there is no link. Some of us intellectually challenged need workable stuff. If it is too hard why bother there is a lot of competition out there.
A right click protected web site wouldn't even slow me down if I wanted to steal your photos.
"I would think simply clicking on the website link the lady includes with her ad is a no brainer."
You would think that but, if your ad don't impress me why would I not simply move on to the next ad? Saves time to weed out the ladies that can't be bothered with giving their ad the sex appeal of a photo. There is only three ways a provider can get my attention enough look her up: An interesting board post, a recommendation from someone I trust, or a hot photo.
Since I don't spend more then a few seconds on an ad without a photo that impresses me unless the lady already has my attention, I will not read her ad, let alone spend the time to look up her site. I doubt I am the only guy who shops this way.
I am just saying a photo will up a ladies business and any photo on a public site can be jacked in minute or two, right click protected or not, why not include one?
you are speaking of ads that are posted on this site.I think some do not post pictures because they do not know how.Maybe they posted their ad from their cell phone and not computer so they do not have access to their pictures.Or they do not own a computer and only have pictures on their phones. If they have a website listed on their profile maybe some assume just like other replies have said that if the guy is interested he will go to their website for pictures.
