Has anyone else noticed the pop-up ads when visiting Eros Guide. I went to the site to update my listing and had a pop-up ad, then a notification/survey asking whether I would like to see these pop-up ads or not.

I would think most would not like to see them. I have gone back to the site a couple of times and there are always pop-ads now. Has anyone else noticed this...and found it rather annoying?

If it is annoying to you it will be to many others and they will lose in the end.

Was just on Eros last night, a few times in the days before (trying to make up my mind), and did not have one pop up or annoying notification thing.

For what it's worth, I'm running Firefox, with AdBlockPlus (which I disable for this site, so don't worry mods . Firefox does a handy job taking care of pop ups, and AdBlock Plus blocks most every ad on most every website. You can disable it for sites that you like so that they get the ad revenue, but for sites with excessive ads that move and talk while I am trying to read the content of the site, it is by all means effective.

It's pretty easy to do. First, install Firefox if you do not already use it. Then Google "adblock plus for firefox," download and install. Takes seconds. THEN, and this is the last step, go to the homepage for ABP (link can be found on the addon page) and choose a "filter subscription." I use the "Easylist." Just click on subscribe, then click add subscription. Restart FF and you you should be fine.

Now for sites that you like and want to make sure they get the ad revenue, you'll see a small Red APB stop sign in the top right of your browser. Click the small arrow next to the sign and scroll to "disable on x." You'll then begin seeing ads for the site.

It just seems strange that a site that generates so much revenue from ads would need to do this..

You're welcome. And I agree. I'm sure they get tons of ad revenue, and don't they charge providers for the listings? Seems like normal ads would be fine, but pop ups are never acceptable as far as I'm concerned.

Also, if after you've asked around and found that no one else is having the same experience on Eros, your computer might be infected with some malware. Might want to run a thorough scan. Otherwise, adblock plus should do the trick.

and it fucking annoying as hell. I buy visiting VIP ads there and pay $200 a week for it

Eros is trying to make billions rather than a few measly millions!
