Ditto. I will NEVER reveal how I screen. And I do call both other providers and work numbers. You look after yourself and let us look after us.
Do providers actually do any screening? I have been a hobbyist for a while, and I have seen many providers. Most ask my name, employer, numbers, past providers etc... I'm single and self-employed and don't have much to be afraid of, but a lot of guys would be afraid to give their personal info so that their wives and employers don't find out, or they don't get blackmailed one day.
Do providers really have an effective screening method? I would think that they really end up detering a lot of decent customers, instead of screening LE. Because, how really can you screen out LE with this info? LE can always give you someone's brother's info who works at Walmart. And its not like there's a database out their with all the LE names to crosscheck against. Plus, all the providers I talked to say they ask for the info, but never actually call the company or any past providers. My company has never been called to verify I work there either and I give out my info a lot.
So, any of you providers got good screening techniques that actually screen out LE? I came up with some but don't know if they work.
and subscribes to a data base - puts your name through the database... and voila, she can verify all sorts of things about you! is this gonna protect her? no, not totally, but it gives her something to ask you when you show up for the first time.... Not really a bad idea...
she destroys the info - when she realizes that you are indeed the person she spoke to... she also uses it to give a first pass criminal record search.... yup, green caped dudes can pass, but convicted serial killers won't.....
So sure, it is not fool proof.... but there isn't much that is.
If you give any info at all, it's best to assume that they will check, even if most eventually don't.
I'm always worried that the provider might not destroy the info - after all there's no way for the hobbyist to verify this.
the provider's computer, then I take out a bottle of sulfuric acid... sprinkle it over any papers I find lying about.... and if time permits, I use the hypnotic ray to mind wash the provider to forget I was even there! for the record, I have been with 9,875 providers....
NOT!
Seriously, ya gotta trust... The providers have to trust the dudes, and the dudes have to trust the providers... and even on B&S operations, I gotta say, I have never had my id compromised....
I always destroy the info. You don't need a computer trail anymore than I do!
Believe me you would be surprised at what some of us ladies know and who we know . I would be a stupid bitch to tell you or anyone for that matter certain methods of "screening" . A true lady never reveals her real age or all of her knowlege .
Be Safe!
What about the little black book that they keep for their appointments?
i do keep records for my own sake, handwritten, but in a safe location and in a little code i created that only i can understand. if someone were to find it and flip through it, it'd look like some sort of cryptic grocery shopping list.
but i do agree with the other girls in that no one is going to reveal ALL of their screening methods, it'd rather defeat the purpose wouldn't it?

well first you have to remember that not all providers screen solely for LE. screening for LE is easy, 90% is avoiding situations which are easy/desireable for LE busts, like hotel incalls/outcalls, same day appointments for first-timers, people who are vague about their interests or desires, etc.
the two more challenging, crucial elements i screen for are 1. my own personal safety, and 2. compatibility. i really couldn't care less about "references" from other providers, as that doesn't tell me any of the information that's important to me. with some women this is first and foremost a business, and that is how they operate. however for me it's first and foremost a passion, and as such my screening methods are not common to most providers. i take a fair amount of time getting to know each and every potential client before deciding whether or not we will ever meet. no LE agency has the time or patience to deal with such a waiting period...after all we are talking about escorting, not a million-dollar drug bust. i never use my legal name, and i do not provide a phone number for any person i have yet to meet. i DO discuss physical activities, however i do NOT discuss $$$, EVER. i need to know age, marital status, and type of work. verifying a person's place of work shows me that the person is honest, however that is all it tells me. it doesn't tell me if that person will be safe or if their needs suit what i offer. there have been a few who have contacted me over the years who were put off by my process, and that's fine with me. i'm not trying to make millions, i'm trying to be safe, happy, and passionate about what i do.

lili, you are right on target !!!
As an indy we have the right to pick and choose who we decide to see . If we do not find one person appealing , or what we prefer to spend our time with then we have that right to say NO . If I seen everyone inquiry then I mind as well work for some agency . I enjoy meeting the kind of people I get along with and enjoy being with during my time . As a single lady , I find it so much enjoyable to spend my time with someone I too enjoy . Remember this is not all about the gents. We see who we like not always just for the rent $ etc...

As you said, someone who is LE could easily give you for example their brother's info.. but for me I generally check id (although sometimes it slips my mind..) and that way I can know for sure that they employment info that I received and checked is indeed the information of the person I am meeting. And you are right- there are no guarantees. But I think overall combining different methods- references, employment info, id check, and/or RS2k type verification services- it all adds up to a reasonable level of confidence, if not 100% so. And I agree with the ladies, that getting to know the person through their emails, their voice, their words and phrasing, etc. is just as important if not more so than the logistical information.

I haven't heard anyone say that she did a super job of checking/screening and still got busted. The LE person showed up as working at IBM, knew 2 providers who had been around and had been molested by a religious figure in his youth.
What I hear are usually stupid busts and "I should have checked better." I believe it may be that I just haven't heard and those things do happen but it sure seems like the busts come from
1. Someone new on craigs list as either the person popped or the set up provider to catch Johns.
2. Someone who doesn't have a lot of reviews from established hobbyists
3. Someone who is seen when the dude is so horny that the last time he thought with the big head was when he remembered to dress before going out.
As to screening for creeps, I think that is the riskier situation. I assume/hope that providers have an established support/safety network in place.
I know it is useless to lament and wish, but somehow it seems if the hobby were legal we could remove much more of the risk to providers, hobbyists and society by establishing rational systems for health, safety and zoning.
