What a horrible movie.........as well as generation um.

A recent thread asked what were people’s favourite movies about the hobby, moving beyond ‘Pretty Woman’ and so on, and various suggestions were offered.

My question is for the Providers.

If you see a listing for a movie about the hobby, about escorts, escorting, etc. Are you more or less likely to go and see it?

What I mean is, is it a subject that you avoid in the rest of your life or are you curious to see how outsiders might portray it? I know for Providers it’s either a job or a hobby based on their own circumstances but do you avoid the subject when you’re ‘off the clock’? For example, if a friend suggested going to a movie about an escort would you make any excuse not to watch it or just go along and privately note to yourself how accurate or inaccurate it was, would it make you uncomfortable, or do you not care either way and just care whether it’s a good movie or not?

I suppose the same question applies to TV shows, newspaper articles and so on. If you see the subject is escorting are you more or less interested?

Now I know no one would make a movie about my job because it’s far too boring but Providers as characters do show up in movies, would you just think that you get enough of that crap at work and not be interested?

I would be genuinely interested to get the opinion of any providers on this, thank you

To answer your question, I go through periods of intellectual mania and also hybernation; where my curiosity is dulled and my thinking is more sloth like. Despite these excentricities, I have read and watched literally HUNDREDS of books, films, and documentaries about prostitution!

This was 3rd or 4th book I ever read on the topic.

Thanks for the reply. I should have, of course, included books in my original question

(note - I'm answering here because of TER's inability to bump an active thread to the top).

How about Eden?  Brutal, somewhat true story about the abduction of a woman in New Mexico.

What a horrible movie.........as well as generation um.
