The summer is starting and all of us or should I say most of us head for the beach or the pool. I guess with the invention of the tanning bed this doesn't always hold true.

I love tan lines myself and use a very strong sunblock on my white spots at the nudist resort. I see lots of men and women looking and wonder just what their thinking. Could it be they want to help apply the lotion or maybe my tan lines stick out like a sore thumb.

Do you think tan lines are sexy or would you rather see a nice even tan all over..Do you dream of creamy white skin all summer long and can't wait for the tan to fade.

I liked them; back in the days, as as a teenager, when I seldom saw a naked lady. If I saw the tan line it meant I was possibly getting close to seeing something special. But, now days I'm can do without them. The "creamy white skin" does it for me. Yet, you are so sexy! Oops, was that a shill???

That when I first started sneaking looks into my older brother's Playboys in the late 1950s, all the girls had tan lines and shaved (or at least airbrushed out) pubic hair.  Both of these remain exceptionally erotic to me.  The pale untanned skin emphasizes her nakedness to me anyway.
And as I've often said, tan lines can lead to the nicest places!

Not only do I think tan lines are incredibly tacky, the whole idea of tanning when there is so much information about sun damage out there boggles my mind.
Spray tan anyone? Come on people! The ozone layer is depleting more every single day. The amount of sun you get today does much more damage than 10+ years ago!

One bad sunburn can do more damage than the occasional tan. There's a great article in this month's issue of Allure that discusses the topic further.

I luckily don't have to tan because of my natural Latin glow but that doesn't mean I'm not suceptable to melanomas like everyone else. Those with fairer skin should be even more concerned.

Freckles are not cute, they are sun damage.

There are lotions out there that moisturize and build a natural glow too.

Trust me ladies, I live in the land of sun and fun (miami) and us locals know you need to wear spf!

That is, men and women who came of age when they were very popular or more common continue to enjoy them. Those who grew up in the tanning = skin cancer (or easier access to self tanners or nude tanning beds!) era seem to prefer none. It's not a hard rule, of course, but the trend is there.

Personally: The only thing I get when I go out in the sun is a bad sunburn and more freckles, so tan lines aren't even an option for me. I sport the Irish look year-round. Besides, tan lines just scream premature aging and melanoma to me, neither of which I find sexy, so I don't find them (or deep full body tans) attractive on other people either.

My Irish heritage has doomed me to the fact that I don't tan, I don't even burn, I just burst into flames. Three or four days later, all my skin falls off, and I'm fish-belly white again.

...A strong attraction to ladies' necks and an equally strong aversion to garlic and crucifixes? If so, it might not be your IRISH blood that's to blame.

that thing with the ladies' necks does get me going, but the garlic and crucifixes don't scare me off...Especially if there is a lady's neck nearby to be bitten.

I grew up with tanlines on beach bunnies. Yep - very nostalgic to me. A turn on. however.....if a lady has really nice smooth supple skin that she takes good care of (which to me includes not tanning excessively) I appreciate that even more than tanlines.

They add a certain "granularity" to a woman's body which is always attractive. The lines across the body have similar visual effects as a garter belt and stockings.

Unless the tan is sprayed on the "smooth supple skin" won't be so for long.

It really is not an issue.  Recently, I saw a lady that had vacationed in the Caribbean, and come back with no tan lines.  Wish I had been there when she was...hot damn!

tough one... I like tan lines, they are quite sexy....on the other hand, tan breasts are a big turn on as well...so tan breasts with a great tan line showing the thong on your booty!!
