Guys,

Have you discovered a hobby twin? By that I mean someone who has a similar take/philosophy on the hobby, matching sense of humor in board posts and largely the same taste in women? As you read through the reviews of a lady you are considering seeing, you pay particular attention to your twin's review, because it is likely that you would see or interpret things in a similar way. Or when a travelling lady comes to town, it ends up that you both see her during her trip.

I'm not saying that any of this is planned, but just that someone has the same preferences and tendencies. Have you noticed this sort of thing? Or are you saying, "Damnit, Ren'man, you are creeping me out!"

Just an amused observation...

That's an interesting question that hadn't occurred to me, but now that you've mentioned it I'll be more likely to notice such a trend.

It's kinda reassuring when you read a review and see that you're not the only one who is sometimes unsure of himself, or enjoys a smart woman, or found a particular provider to be excellent. Next time I see a see a reviewer who matches my mindset, I'll look to see if we're "Twins", and then I can rely on his Word. Great strategy RenMan.

We found out about each other very much by accident. Just happens that we have both seen the same lady. Just by a general conversation she put two and two together and figured out that we were related. Anyway it seems that we both have not only seen her but several other ladies in common.

How's that for a creepout Ren'man?

I received a PM a few years back, as feedback to a review I'd written.  We've since hung out together, and gotten to be friends.

While we couldn't possibly be any more different than one another, our taste in women is almost 100% the same.

in the year or so that I've been involved on the boards, I've contacted, and been contacted by several guys. The remarks have been that it's strange how much we have in common. One of them is even a lttle spooky. Many times, one of us would post a reply to someone with the exact same words that the other was thinking. (You know who you are)

I've actually met a couple of these guys, and developed some pretty good friendships. With others, we already have plans to meet.

Yep. There are certainly a couple of guys (and one in particular - and we know it) who I consider to be my twin. As in "twin sons of diffferent mothers". We at one point even joked about creating a shared TER handle so we could do one post that would be from both of us rather than just making a "I agree with what he said" post. But that would probably break the TER rules and get us banned, so we dropped that idea. Couldn't have said it better than Ren'man put it, somebody "who has a similar take/philosophy on the hobby, matching sense of humor in board posts and largely the same taste in women."

Sometimes I expect to see Rod Serling walk arond the corner, cigarette in hand saying somthing like... "Consider if you will two men. Seperated by time and distance. Yet strangely connected... in the Hobby Zone"

I have actually made quite a few Hobby buddies in the last year. My first couple years of hobbying I was pretty solitary with no one to share stories with. In the last year or so I have met a bunch of fellow hobbyists with similar tastes and outlook on a local board. Have met a few guys at happy hours and lunches. Kind of fun to trade stories and swap notes with like minded guys.

One draws my attention  and I just spend about 10 min searching for a review that he wrote... about a local provider in Philly... I never wrote a review for her simply because I could not find the words... he did.  The review was perfect.... I remember his phrase when describing the overall experience with this particular provider - his words "it was all dark and strange"  While both of us recognized that there was no chemistry between us and the provider, the services provided were adequate, but the atmosphere was very strange....  kinda like going out with "wendy Adams."

but there are other gents that I've got to admit... I like their style... and we had seen the same ladies... his name was "richardT" or something like that - he taught me lots about the hobby - just by reading his reviews and the few notes we exchanged while he was still active....   so yea, they are out there... as are mentors and friends.

where small groups of hobbyists of similar taste could meet to compare notes on ladies we've seen,  plan strategy for spreading the work of visiting new ladies and report back to the group. This would make the selection process much easier, and it would be good sport.

Yes. A couple of them, really, in varying degrees. It is pretty funny actually.
