Son, your last post had perfect grammar.  I love you!

I didn't know about this world prior to the economy crashing in 2008 (maybe a good thing because I'd probably have died from fucking) but how much did business/rates slow down or drop in the ensuing years. I would imagine NYC and Socal must have been booming as well as Vegas and there would have been a hell of a big drop.

I've been seeing my current Provider since March. From what she tells me, prior to the Economic Crash she was making thousands a month. Fast Froward to this year, her Business has really Slowed Down. There's even days where she has no Clients call her. Several times I've been the only one she sees in a given week. She's even lowered her Donations. Still things are Slow for her. When I had my first few Sessions with her I paid her Full Donation Price. Now in the last 3 to 4 months, she's fine with me paying half of her Full Price. And she still gives me Full Service. I'm sure her other Clients are getting this Deal as well.

How old are you babyboy...14? :D

I started working soon after the 2008 crash...I was a casualty of the crash, kind of.

Other girls talk about 2005 -2007 as if it was some sort of golden epoch. A girl I knew said she'd charge $700/hr one day, then raise her rates to $1500 the next. That she'd be so busy at those rates she'd take off for weeks on end.

When I first started working, it was crickets. Not what I was expecting at all. I started working for expensive agencies and made no money until I finally settled for one of those super-high-volume operations that treats girls like a puppy mills treat dogs. All of the expensive agencies told me that their business had dried up completely...that was very true, from what I saw.

I once saw a guy who worked on wall street...he told me that his firm used to have parties in luxe hotel suites where they'd hire girls for the whole night at 1.2k per hour, per girl. That the entire evening would be put on the company CC. Needless to say, that kind of thing isn't possible today, not only because of the economy, but because of greater scrutiny.

But I survived, and some of those girls didn't. Because they were used to making easy money, and couldn't bring themselves to hustle. They couldn't bring themselves to charge such paltry sums as $500 and advertise on such crass venues as TER. LOL.

Until 2010 the widely accepted standard of donation was $300/h. There were of course some exceptions; but relatively few.

Strange that in an economy that has displaced, disenfranchised, and down-sized so many hobbyists the widely and long accepted $300 donation has simultaneously inflated to $400, $500 and more.

Has the lady’s rent, hotel room, make-up and couture costs inflated as much as these advertised prices? Is there a conspicuous shortage of ladies entering into or currently practicing the craft? Or is this a purely arbitrary and arrogant class distinction brought on by deluded individual greed and supported venal manipulations of the published score aggregates?

Perhaps those innately enamored with statistics, percentages, and number crunching could shed some numerical light on this "paradox"?

I have to pay for two nights at a hotel. I get nice rooms. That can cost over $400 for a decent room if booked last minute during the holidays. If the 2 hour appointment paid $800, I would net $200 per hour. As of now, I would net $125.

Prices of hotels fluctuate based on demand, so setting our rates to a certain amount guarantees we walk away with something during the higher priced periods of time.

If this is our only source of income, we have to base our rates on that as well. A lot of time is spent on advertising and networking, (for some of us). We can't force men to see us, so saving for a rainy day should be included as well. There are times where I get three requests in a week, and not all pass screening, and/or schedules don't align. Sure, we can work 20 hours/week on the $400/hour; however, again, we can't force men to email us.

Beauty and upkeep is expensive, especially in Chicago. Men tell us not to spend so much, yet we are rated on looks, cleanliness, and what we wear. Many men know about quality of clothing. We also get outfit requests all the time.

Ads can be pretty expensive as well here in Chicago, which jacks up the prices even more. In the Carolinas, going above $350 makes things a little rough. In Chi-town, looks like 350/400 per hour is about average for a good provider. We have to stay within market rates for a few reasons. Anyone who knows anything about economics would know these reasons. Let me know if you need them.

Think about it. During the Clinton Administration it probably was extremely brisk, because people had more disposable income and the economy was healthier. Also the stock market was doing well and there was about 5 percent growth every quarter. Of course in white collar economies you might be better off than in blue collar economies but that would be just par for the course. At the very highest levels the hobby has taken a slight hit depending on were you are located as well as what the focal point of that local economy was. Henceforth you might do better in New York than you would do in Detroit obviously because there would be very little disposable income for those potential local hobbyist. However if the supply is higher than the demand like it is in some parts of Texas, then you tend to suffer a bit because you need to be more high volume in order to have a decent income.

I think the law of supply and demand is the only economic theory that you can bank on. The ladies up in North dakota in the tar sands couldn't even get a booking in San Diego. But up there they can have there legs spread all day. If they can find a room. I've heard some are doing it in trailers.

out of curiosity, I pulled up BP escorts for N. Dakota.  First funny thing was not a single listing had prices or websites listed.  Second (not so funny) was it was not a very pretty sight

Historically, camp followers haven't been the creme de la creme of providers. ;)

Most of the legit ladies who advertise out that way do not use BP due to the heavy LE presence…there are 2-3 boards that are just for that region, and that is where you will find the reviewed and legit ladies.

but I will agree that just like every boom before or since, the camp followers that profit from them are not exactly the cream of the crop. Of course the same thing could also be said about their clientele.

The cream of the crop can thrive in an environment much less harsh than the ND oil fields, but you have to give credit to those "less than model material" ladies, who have found a way to make bank even during an economic downturn.

Yes and no…it is more of a free market. Supply and demand only affects those who 100% rely on this as their only income, and do not save properly for hard times. A lady posting $40 quickie specials does not pose any threat to the lady advertising $400/hr… there can be 100 ladies for under $100…and they still do not really affect the ladies in the higher brackets. Different men have different wants and needs…some just want to get their rocks off, while others are looking for something more(conversation, GFE, etc). So, supply and demand really only affects those who are in the brackets of tons of other girls in the same bracket as them…and again, services offered and appearance can change this curve as well.

It's like saying that Wal-Mart, Macy's, and Gucci stores are in competition with one other…no, they are all tailored for completely different classes of consumers, & hence, one store is not a threat to another..hence, supply and demand does not apply to them. Now, Wal-Mart and Target can be comparable, as they offer much of the same things, for close to the same prices….the escort market can be thought of in the same manner.

Back in 2004-2005,  I was seeing escorts for $165 an hour in my area, but normally ended up paying $170.
In those days, these were 1 hour sessions.  $170 was the normal rate.

Then, 2006 - 2009,  I decided to give hobbying a rest as I had already experienced it. I still kept tabs at the ads and saw prices skyrocket to $250 - $300 per hour in my area. I though - Jezz, it's getting really expensive.

In 2010, an in-law died young and I thought "jezz, life is too short", I need to go back and enjoy the girls. So got back to hobbying.  The 30 minute sessions became popular in my area, and it was like $100 - $150 for 30 minutes.  But I was paying more like $120 - $125 for 30 minutes.  The 1 hour sessions where $180 - $200.

In 2012, things even got worst and now there were offers for a quick visit (15 - 20 minute sessions) for $50 - $80.  Out of curiousity, I have tried QV only twice and remembered paying $60. Luckily, the girls were decent and they didn't rush me.  For a 20 minute fuck, I mean $60 is pretty great.  But mostly, it's not GFE .. just a BJ and straight fuck as fast as you can cum.

2013, those I've seen offering $200/hour are now offering it for $150/hour.  I've seen a girl about 4 - 5 times for $140/hour early this year.  That's her normal rate.   Now recently,  I've only been seeing a regular for the past 3 months, and I've been spending around $170-$180 per hour for her - BUT I get everything I want to do with her. I tell her to lick and suck my balls, she does it LOL.  This month, I saw another lady who I have known for years and her rate was $100 for 30 minutes and gave her a $20 tip.   My regular said she was offering incalls back in Sept-Oct and no one saw her - just waste money on hotel.  I'm the only one seeing her now and pick her up at her house.   I'm still seeing $40 - $50 for quick visits, $80 - $100 for half hour, and $150 - $180 for  an hour.   I don't see the rates changing in 2014.    In short,  the prices today are about the same as 10 years ago.

There's a lot of underemployment.  Wages have not gone up much in my area, and this gets reflected in the rates.    Truly, in this economy, the poor are getting poorer.  And the 1% super-rich, are getting richer.  And the middle class professionals (like most of us), are really just thankful we have a steady job and we're able to sock away some cash so we could retire comfortably at 60 something.
