Okay I have been fretting more and more about this with each passing day. I know we have individuals on this Board who sincerely desire to see all of us, as participants in the Hobby, use proper English and spell our words correctly.
And then, there are those who we shall describe as "The Shpelling Gestapo" whose ardent enthusiasm for correct spelling and intolerance for those of us who do not use the correct order of letters in a word on some occasions, allow themselves the freedom of shooting the perpetrators (figuratively speaking of course) rather than wait or allow the perp to correct their own spelling.
All of this said and with an onerous cloud of worry growing over me each day, here is part one of three of the "shpelling dilemma".
What is the correct spelling of the word "boobiage"?
I mean if you have two boobs, you have boobies and consequently it seems with the use of the "age" suffix the plural form of boobies becomes boobiage. Following the same logic, wouldn't the singular form of boob become boobage?
As I said, I have been fretting more and more about this with each passing day and I feel this is a question that can no longer remain unanswered.
Here is part two of three of the "shpelling dilemma".
What is the correct spelling of the word "assage"?
I mean if you have two asses with the use of the "age" suffix should the plural form be assage, assiage or asseage? It seems natural that the singular form of ass become assage. Is this however another case where the word assage is perceived as both singular and plural?
As I said, I have been fretting more and more about this with each passing day and I feel this is a question must also be answered.
What is the correct spelling of the word "nippleage"?
I mean if you have two nipples, it seems with the use of the "age" suffix the plural form of nipples becomes nippleage or do you drop the "e" and make it nipplage? Another possibility is to drop the e add an i for nippliage.
It seems that the singular form of nipple would obviously become nipplage.
Now here again, do you use the same word, "nipplage" for both the singular and plural form of nipples?
You can see what is causing my concern and why I feel this is a question that can no longer remain unanswered.
