It is getting bad in PHX. Now every girl in town is an escort. All of the girls on the street are now online. It kills business for a good provider. Instead of getting a girl that takes care of her self, guys are choosing to call the $50 girls that they would never go for on the corner. Am I the only one that sees this?

Dahlink...this is nothing new.  This topic has been raked over the coals countless times  

But, alas....there will always be those who sesrch the strange foe the cheapest they can find.

For what it's worth...I am SO with you in regard's to ugh ugh...CL.

I have toured CL for fun and for ideas. I surf the erotic area just to see what is there. I notice I have to go through about 15 ads for online webcam sites for one real live girl. Then about 20 real live girls to find one with reviews on TER. Then about 5 real live girls with reviews on TER that are actually good reviews (some even state in their ad they are reviewed even though their reviews are all bad).

As a side note, I love the best of CL area, lots of funny stuff there.

Add to it the current economy with stock market, mortgage refi's etc and you have a buyers market.

There are other equalizers. Guys will run into grifters who take them. The women will use fake photos, won't keep themselves clean. When the dust settles, business will come back.

I realize, though, that does you little good in the here and now. Not too many women can maintain themselves on the internet charging $50 and hour. Hell, a blow-up doll probably needs more in sheer maintenance.

In the DC area we see alot of visiting providers use both CL and eros. I have found some real gems on CL. Some are in the process of upgrading from CL to eros. They are also learning the ropes about taking references etc. I have also seen some high profile TER profiles use CL. In terms of $50 girls that is something that I would not hire on the street or on the net.

There is also one other thing, PHX on average has had higher prices that normal for a provider services. Providers find this out and then bingo the flood gates open. It is the law of supply and demand.

Don't shoot the messenger

right now there is a heated debate on the philly board about the "payless escorts" on CL.  To be very blunt about it - the philly market is all over the map, but quality seems to start at $$$ and goes to about $$$$$.  More than that and you are paying for either a PS or convenience to yourself.  CL?  risky in certain suburbs of philly - as LE uses CL to "attract business" and they troll the ads looking to make busts.

Z and I do not agree on much, however, on this I think he has it right.  Every single time the fee is below $$$ I have been very disappointed.  Advertisement on EROS is no guarantee either.  the only thing that seems to provide some modest level of QC is TER or that o t h e r  spread.

What I would suggest to all ladies is be sure that you keep your profile and your pictures updated.  Make sure that your donations provide adequate funds to keep the level of service up.... and the dudes will keep coming back.  let me tell ya, one I was with (eros, but on the low side of fees and to top it off was a B&S operation) had hair that was coarse and smelled.... ugh.  I mean, you go there horny and primed for sex... and you cannot even get a woody because the place is filthy and the lady smells very bad... yea!  like I'm gonna have sex with her?

Quality in anything always wins and that is what separates the escorts and courtesans from streetwalkers - IMHO.

Boston too is all over the map. Meaning that many snub thier nose at CL, others use it for research and others use it exclusively. I've noticed, like Bizzaro that anythin really under a $250 threshold the quality drops off quickly and buyer beware increases.

I do notice that CL is a very popular form of provider marketing in other regions. So now what is happening is that w/ all the visitors that tour Boston, CL is being legitimized by these ladies. Some are great providers and even some Porn Stars are using it as their primary marketing.

All that being said, I saw this horrific post this morning (see below). This is enough to have serious thought as to how legit it'll become in Boston.

I hobbied in NV before the internet came of age. At that time, you could find boards that discussed legal hobbying. It helped to know who to see at the brothels.

Then the internet blossomed, and boards like TER and others made it easy to find local talent. The brothels had to adjust.

It seems like with CL, info on hobbying has now descended to the street level.

I think CL is more stratifying the market, and not necessarily causing big price disruptions. The negatives with CL are: 1) LE; and 2 )Quality. Guys who don't care about quality, are probably guys you don't care to date. They don't expect you to respect them, and they probably won't respect you.

I think the boards are more of a problem for the ladies. I've found a number of quality ladies in the $.5-$$.25 range. They host at the Comfort Inn rather than the Ritz. But, they are nice, clean, dependable, and ladies I can relate to. The, the agencies bring their hot new talent for $$$. That basically sets the price in my area.

Actually, what is important to me: Ladies I can relate to. I have had the pleasure of being with ladies I could not relate to. Physically, the session was fine, but the chemistry was missing. Maybe that's the main reason I will stay away from the low hanging fruit, and invest a little more for quality.

Escorts are becoming more and more of a commodity (easy to find, lots of them, easy to compare, etc.). Figure out your "competitive advantage", and exploit it. Set yourself apart from the rest of the field so the gentlemen will see your worth, and be willing to pay for it.

One lady I recently saw is new and has priced herself in the high end of the average rate. However, she did not have a competitive advantage. She isn't a 10 in looks (she is pretty though). She isn't 20 years old. She doesn't make you feel like her boyfriend from the get-go. She hasn't found her competitive advantage in order to justify the premium price.

Ignore CL. Advertise where guys you want are looking. You should do fine.

CL in L.A. is populated with normal girls, Ter girls and streetwalker types. Guys are smart enough to choose whether they want to pay $100 for a sketchy situation or not. If they do, fine. Those aren't the guys for me anyways.

What I notice, though, is that the girls that set themselves apart are the ones that seem to be able to adapt. My advice is that maybe you should put up a CL ad, put up your link to your site and watch as you now get additional business. Rather than hating on CL, join it. I've put up ads on CL... it's no big deal. It's helped me to meet some wonderful gents who were simply unaware of some of the other options out there or who from simple convenience decided to troll CL. Either way, I think CL gets a very bad rap.

Not bad ENOUGH . CL in LA is 99% ripoffs and agency scams.....no way it's worth it.  And yet, I hate to say it , I have met three INCREDIBLY great girls there who were completely real, independent and have actually become good friends as well.

But most of it is utter and complete crap.   The girls on the phone are MASTER liars, the girls who show up are VICTIMS of the agencies that are supposed to be looking out for them, and I never have the heart to send them away without some $$$ for themselves - they almost always walk right out and hand it over to the driver they "don't have". I have a very good friend whom I cannot convince to get her beautiful butt off of there, it kills me to see her ad, because she is 100% for real and getting lots of business for it - but she could be world class and has no idea.

this is not a bad business - only what we (society) make of it.  it kills me that there are those who DO take advantage of young women - and that some young women permit it... heck, the ladies on TER?  they are far from taken advantage of - over the past few years,  I have seen this community come to some ladies aid more than I have seen in civie life... community?  protective?  all here.

CL?  well, just a lot of muck to rake through to find those very few Jems... though Katie seems to be one.

I've had nothing but positive experiences and I've had my share of odd people email me, but I probably over screen to avoid all my worst nightmares...

I think this community is valuable in numerous ways- giving us ladies a group of safe guys with a proven track record to interact with and a providers only space in which to dish the dirt on unsafe people, spread the word about problems, etc... However, nothing is fool proof. There are still people who get taken advantage of and hurt despite the community available to them. I don't want to say too much to out anyone, though, but I think it's something that we all have to be proactive about. Ladies have to be proactive about knowing who they're seeing or letting into their homes/ hotels and men have to be proactive about finding someone who will be that perfect fit for them.

I'm a provider who posts on craigslist and I would have to say I take care of myself and give the best experience I know how to.... but as a provider what frustrates me about craigslist are all the men who don't show up.  In my experience one out of every 5 appointments show up.  They all want you to reserve their time for them but when they come, they come short without the whole money amount trying to bargain for half (ummmm not cool.... seriously disrespectful), come late but want the same time, or just don't show up at all but confirm their appointment.  So.... you men are not the only ones frustrated with craigslist.  

So just a note for all men who do use craigslist please try to understand that not all the women on there are trash and some are still diamonds in the ruff but if those girls are getting the same treatment I am I can understand their attitudes.  I am beautiful, clean, used to work for an agency, and definitly give you your money's worth.  I am one of the few exspensive girls you see on there but because of the cheaper rates sometimes I am reduced to lower my prices to even get a call.  It's kind of sad since I do value myself as worth it.

Katie is right. We have to wade thru as many offensive/bogus/rude emails from CL as men have to wade thru ripoffs/agency's/scams Ad's on CL.

But the few good ones I have found to be great, really no different in "quality" than TER guys or guys from similar sites.

Overall CL is pretty cool, with all the other category's and as long as we use the same screening we would otherwise, it's another good source to find  people
