Just a question here:

If guys know the dangers of using Craigslist, why do they continue to look there for providers?

I only ask this because I do sometime post on CL. I can notice the difference when i dont. Meaning if I dont post on Cl for a particular day, i barely get any calls. But the minute my post goes up, I cant stop my phone from ringing?

I just hear so many bad things that men say about CL. however they continue to use it.

Any thoughts???

Kisses,
Crystal

A similar post was made before but a case could be made that craiglist is a forum for bottom feeders or lurkers as livie put it earlier.
I know that VIP do not post and if they do its a discount or women who are trying to get established so they post. Finally because its a recent post, you know they are available.  If you call someone from EROS, they are already booked in many cases

the hobbyist takes the time to verify the lady through the TER review system.  Otherwise, buyer beware.

Crysta, I can't speak for the other guys but I look every day because in my area we don't get a lot of visiting ladies from TER. The local ladies here are great but part of the hobby experience for me is new ladies. I also know, like you, that visiting well reviewed ladies do advertise there as well. I will not see one of the girls unless another TER decides to TOFTT and it turns out well.

Just my .02

Depending where you are located, CL is still a good source for locating providers.
I would only recommend it to hobbyists that are experienced and have a good sense as to what is fake, what is not, and what may be LE, or ROB's.
There are still many legit providers that use CL, but extreme caution is needed by both provider and hobbyist.
Like KK mentioned, if you can cross references by TER reviews, and be smart about your research, you can find and enjoy some legit sessions.
You can still find the gems if you know what you are doing.

sometimes i use craigslist to get and idea, I see an add a pic and price. I then search on sites like TER for reviews.  If there are no reviews I dont go any forther, CL is like eye candy this is not full proof but only my 2 cents

but most of the friends I see come from old ads on CL..

Their is much to say about keeping a steady stream of new people coming to you who hobby. These days i'm happier seeing the same faces and not dealing with worries that go along with a ringing phone.

I agree that there are so many good gentlemen on CL waiting to meet me but I choose to make them wait a little longer..

Please stay safe
Kisses Haley

on CL. It was my intro to the Hobby. Like others have said, you just need to be careful & try to find reviews. I watch the ads for several months making sure the pics & # stay the same if I can't find a review. I would never respond to a "I'm only here for tonight" ad as I want someone who is going to be going for repeat traffic.

Also it is good for finding AMP's.

First off, if a provider is TER Reviewed, it doesn't really matter to me where she advertises. Since I've found TER, I, personally, won't see a provider without reviews unless she comes from a great agency I frequent, or is recommended by someone I know.

That being said, there is one very good explanation for why TER members may troll CL for providers who are not reviewed. It's by no means the only explanation (among other reasons, there is also saving money and lack of TER presence in some areas).

Prior to TER (and other review sites not as good), the hobby was, again IMHO based on my experience, divided into three general areas of a spectrum.  You had Men's Clubs, Brothels, and Call Girls on the high end, the marketing of which was usually done by word of mouth in shared secrets; a benefit being that specific information about specific providers (including prices and services) could be passed along and taken for what it was worth depending on the person sharing it. (A lot like TER now in some ways)

In the middle of the spectrum, you had certain bars, the Yellow Pages for escort and massage services, and some local publications.  The marketing for that was larger in scope than word of mouth, so it reached more people, but there was no real sharing of specific information other than price and contact information.  However, there wasn't the same level of danger that was associated with the lowest tier, the streets, dive bars, and truck stops.

When you cruised the streets, dives, and truck stops, you could actually see what you would be getting, but had no idea whether she was a cop, ROB, or a stringer setting you up for a mugging.  You also had no idea what she would do or not do as far as services went.

In this day of internet and review sites, you have a combination of the best of all general levels of the spectrum.  Specific information can be shared, you can see what she looks like, and she can market to an extremely large target audience.  Add boards like this, and you can even interact with her before you set the session if she is active on the boards.

What's missing is the danger and, yes, the level of skankiness of the old days that is a draw to some (I'll admit that it includes me on rare occasions, although I no longer act on the draw) The adrenaline rush that used to come with cruising the dives, truck stops, and, more rarely, the streets, is one that cannot be duplicated with any other activity.  It's not better or worse, just a different kind of rush.  You have to be hyper aware of the surrounding, constantly reading body language and faces, while at the same time setting up a time to be completely alone with someone.

Unfortunately, that level of the hobby also includes a desperation and hopelessness on the part of some of the providers that appeals to certain types of hobbyists that I hope we don't have a lot of on TER (unfortunately, I think we have some).  CL, while not as dangerous, has that element of the unknown and access to the skanky, desperate underbelly of the Hobby as it is really just one level up from the streets.  Some guys get off on that danger element and that rush of trying the unknown in hope of striking gold.  More power to them, I can't afford the trouble, but that is one reason guys on TER will continue to go to CL again and again.

Good luck

how is it one level from walking the streets? a provider is a provider, whether they are on CL or have their on website. it's kind of amusing reading posts from hobbyists who feel they are better then others (not saying this is you) just because they don't mess with CL, you are still paying for some tail, doesn't matter where you found it. based on the reviews i've seen, there are probably more bad experiences from chicks who post on eros compared to CL.

Too much work in having to cross reference to find reviews, determine who's real and who's not, etc.  While there are certainly many well reviewed ladies in my area that utilize CL to advertise, I just don't need to go there.  Same with Eros, CV, and other local boards.  I would rather spend my time with the handful of ladies that I already know, both locals and visitors.  There are also many other ladies I have met at M&G's in NYC and Vegas, or flirted with on-line, that I have not seen yet, so my my to-do list is long, and my circle is growing...

Just adding my two pennies here.  Best to everyone!

Maybe your phone starts ringing as soon as you put up an ad because LE trolls it so heavily.

They see a "new ad" and since LE usually goes after the newer ones, seeing an ad not there everyday they may assume your new on the block and easier to bust.

I dunno.  I dont use it.  Never plan on it,  so..couldnt tell ya.
