My SO asked if I know if providers have any secrets for avoiding bladder infections. Some women get them after having sex, especially if it is a long session and if it happens frequently.  Other women seem not to have a problem with this.   Common preventatives include 1. drinking a lot of water after each session.  2. Cranberry juice or cranberry capsules, 3. Taking an antibiotic such as Bactrim after each session (looked down upon by doctors as it leads to resistant bugs and more problems with any future infections).  3. Vitamin C  1000 mg after each session.

Have any of you had this problem and if so how have you prevented it?

Once you've stuck your fingers, tongue any object or body part in the ass dont' ever put it into the pussy without cleaning first.  Those germs are never ever ever to be mixed.  That is what causes problems and infections of all kinds.  Never ever spread anal germs to the vagina! Nevah Evah!

They should be taken only if you already have an infection.  That said, I'd add only one thing to your list:  after a long session, she should pee right away.

I generally take cranberry pills and eat a lot of yogurt in my normal diet to ward off yeast infections and UTIs. When you are as OCD about cleaning down there as I am, even that can lead to an infection! When I was seeing the 5-7 guys a week back in 2008, it was literally every other week I had a UTI...have not had anything since my volume decreased to less than half that. Yes, too much friction or too many different condom or lube brands, will mess with your parts. Now, I stick to 2 brands of condoms (Beyond Seven and Crown) no lube, and have yet to have an issue.

Soaps are another issue for women....I do not use bath soap on my vagina...ever. I use the Summer's Eve line created for that area, and have since I was in high school. They smell better and are more gentle, plus you can wash with that stuff 4 times a day if need be. I am the type to take a full bath and then 10 min. before the guy arrives, wash my area again even though I have done nothing. Just that OCD, and always have been.

Certain antibiotics actually CAUSE yeast infections, so if you are on them, better do the yogurt thing too just in case.

London, it's interesting that you had problems when seeing "5-7 guys per week." That's not a lot of sex, it's what a typical yound married couple might do, right? Wonder why such a volume caused problems for you. Something to do with 5-7 different guys makes things worse, rather than 5-7 times with the same guy?

More different partners = more opportunity for someone to slip up because they just don't know. Partners know each other, and generally have a little more respect for each others body than what the average hooker is going to experience.

Guys go around touching stuff all day. Eating, working, driving... and yet think its ok to bum rush you at the door to stick their filthy (yes, your hands are filthy) fingers up your hoo hah. I get it, heat of the moment. But, then you get those absolute treasures who think its a great idea to swirl those same fingers around in your b-hole before ramming them back in your pussy. All that has to do is happen once, and a girl can be put out for days.

One hand per hole and wash them often.

+100. Having sex 5-7 times a week with the same person will garner different results than having sex with 5-7 different partners.

Cranberry juice, and peeing before & after each sexual encounter greatly reduces the risk of contracting a UTI. Wiping front to back(so not to cross-contaminate) and washing up after every trip to the restroom & sexual encounter. The antibiotic method is only advised for those who cannot stop getting them.. there are women who STAY infected with a UTI, & without the daily antibiotic, would stay miserable. The daily antibiotics are a lower dosage than the one's they give you when you actually have a UTI, & thus are less likely to cause a yeast infection. But again, antibiotics are the last resort.. over time your body will build up resistance to them.
