It has never happened to me.

A post by a provider on another site mentioned that this has become a problem for her but she explained further that the condom failure she was experiencing was due to bad actors pulling out and stretching the condom so that it would break, then going back in.

I don't know if that activity is common (I certainly hope not.), and such guys should be on all DNS lists ASAP; but what about accidental failures?  Has anyone experienced these?

I have been having covered sex about twenty times a year for the last thirty years or so and have never experienced a condom failure.

Has anyone experienced this?  What are the statistics on this?

I've had that expereince once during greek. I noticed it right away, and she did ATM to clean it off. Anyways, this has only happend to me once with providers and with GFs lost count on how many times ive gotten laid.

l Workshop Summary: Scientific Evidence on Condom Effectiveness for Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Prevention

Source: Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases

Description: Published in 2001, this report presents the findings of a workshop to evaluate the effectiveness of latex male condoms. The effort was led by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), in association with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Key Statistics:

   * In a recent well-controlled randomized clinical trial of monogamous couples using latex male condoms for contraception over six months, the pregnancy rate during “typical use” was reported at 6.3%, with a 1.1% pregnancy rate during “consistent use.”
   * As condom experience and facility in use of condoms increases in couples using condoms as their primary method of birth control, unintended pregnancies decrease.
   * The combined method failure rate (slippage plus breakage) of condoms is estimated at 1.6%–3.6%.

1% to 3% failure rate - given the number of times a provider might have intercourse in a given year, this failure rate seems alarming (at least to me).

For sure, this makes it clear that condoms cannot be the only method of birth control. But this also throws disease prevention into question as well...

Over the course of twenty years, that is at least a 40% failure rate unless I'm not applying the statistics correctly.

I'm shocked and wondering if I have a kid wandering around somewhere.

Answere: It fails...windshield wipers, car belts, rubber gloves and tires just to name a few

Keep the condom lubricated for a ride that is smooth as silk. If you need to do a little jerking motion with your hand do add more joy jelly to the mix.

I have had one gentlemen pull that with me and I pulled my bag of over a hundred condoms out and said " honey don't worry let's just change it now". The event ruined his plans and it was the only time my hot kisses turned to ice.

I was talking to someone just yesterday about condon failure. I always hear about people in civi world saying things like and the condom broke. I always wonder if this is really her saying I had unprotected sex and now i am worried and do not want to admit the condom wasn't the failure my using one was where we failed.
I have had no incidence of condom failure ever with only one excepton that to this day I do in fact remember and always brings a smile to my face . Prior to working there was a man who one night we had the most increadable time and he broke not 1 but 2 condoms that night. I also remember it being the only time in my life I jumped off the bed ran around the room never touching the floor only furmiture to try and get away because I really did think he might break me as well:) He caught me and I had the time of my life lol. God I really liked that guy . Ahem:)Kendall

it is either due to the hat not being large enough to begin with or not enough lube. Now this is only if you are talking about tears. If you don't keep the lube handy when you are going for a lengthy time ...just like our little boxes...they will dry out!LOL!

There are those "actors" that like to do the "opps it slipped off" or "oops it tore" trick. That's a good way to end and appt. and tick a provider off to no limit! (speaking for myself of course but I am sure a few others will agree)

I have been lucky and have only experienced both of these events only 1 time each. Been tested since and have come back squeaky clean. It has been several years though so it doesn't happen to me often at all. I always take the initiative to put the hat on myself so that I know what I am dealing with! Oh and I carry a "variety pack" of different sizes and colors so that I can make sure that we use the most stylish one! LOL! Muah

Ashryn, I think you are correct - it's either the wrong size, or dried out.

The problem is, how do people learn about this? Unfortunately, life experience! They went through enough breakages to realize a pattern. Not too many civvie's in this world discuss condom usage. No one ever pulled me aside and said "Pitt, make sure your condoms are large enough, and lubed enough." It's something you have to learn on your own. Unfortunately, some civvies learn the hard way - by getting pregnant!

I remember my breakage experience with a provider. I was in a MP with a girl I had seen several times before. Our activities had escalated to FS. I was young and so stupid at the time - I recall f**king and then suddenly it felt about 1,000 times better! I didn't know why, but I knew I liked it.

Fortunately, during a position shift I noticed the broken condom. We got another and continued to our normal completion.

With hindsight I can look back and laugh, but it wasn't funny to either of us at the time.

I have had it happen once long ago in civie world and again last year. Both times as mentioned above, it can be attributed to friction. Both times I think it could have been prevented with lube. The first time I was young and inexperienced. When it broke, both the GF and I panicked cause we thought she would get pregnant, and I hadn't even cum yet. The second time with a provider. The first round went well. Between rounds she went to the bathroom and used a bidet to clean herself. She came back squeeky clean. Probably too clean. Without any lube in the room, we went at it again. At first it was tight and things seemed to be ok. As I got busier, I all of a sudden felt a different sensation that felt better than before.  I pulled out immediately. She freaked out when she saw that only the back half of the condom was on. She went to the bathroom and fished the rest of it out. That was the end of that session. She wanted to know if I had cum. I said not yet. She was worried about gettin prego. I was worried I had just caught something. I got tested the next day and the next year and came up clean. I worry about this still to this day.

...and that was many years ago.

The key is the lube! I've never had a problem with this while with a provider and I'm certain that it is because of the lube that the lady applies after the condom goes on.

Long ago when flying was dangerous and sex was safe (mostly) I spent several fun nights with Korean providers and had condom failure at least twice.  Having read the other responses I agree that the root cause (pun intended) was lack of additional lube and the fact that the ladies supplied the condoms to begin with.  Most of us Americans are larger than asians so I may have been stretching the condom to begin with.  Top that off with no additional lube and a very tight Korean girl and its small wonder they failed sometimes.  Worst thing that could have happened to me back then was Syph or Gonnorea and neither occured.

I was kind of wondering about that myself............

It happened to me once a month or so back.  The providor was fairly new, and it didn't seem to phase her; she handed me a new one to finish the session.  Frankly it scared the hell out of me, and I got tested right away.

well, When I was much younger I used to go yo amps a lot. One time late at night after a pretty wild time, pulled out and the top was broken off. She asked, "you make baby" That was all she was worried about. I would say this was early 1980's

Not a breakage story but a "slipped off" story. I was with a provider last month who is a regular of mine. Did something that I had never done with a condom on. We switched from cowgirl to missionary to doggy without me pulling out during the transitions. During doggy, I looked down and the condom was GONE! I pulled out and the condom was still in her. Whether it came completely off upon pulling out or it was off while I was pounding her, I don't know. Leason, pull out for the transitions!!!
