...that's not serious, but I am a bit curious about.

I hope it's worthy of a few responses maybe.

What type of "conversation" do you prefer with the opposite sex??

Email??  Texting??  Phone call??

I know that many like talking in-person, but I'm leaning toward what you do before you actually meet him/her.  So, I'll ask to leave that off.

I'm asking because I want to ask a particular woman out.  We email almost 90%, but have texted & spoken over the phone, too.  I feel strongly that I should ask her out over the phone.

Am I just of an older mindset - that to ask someone out - you have to at least do it in your own voice??!!   :)

I wouldn't answer a guy that didn't take the time out to call me. It would be a huge insult if he texted or emailed me.

agree to calling her, I would not want to be asked out by text or email.
over phone is best but if you really feel she wants you to ask her out do it face to face.

With providers I send a email with a few of my references.I usually only call if I get a reply..If she doesn't have a email I call and leave a message I would like to see her sometime and I give  a few references..

With civilians I only ask them out in person when they are drunk..

I always like to ask civilians in person..Years ago I asked a super hotty that most barn cleaners like me would be intimidated by..I spent a couple hours talking with her one day when she picked up her horse.. First time I called she said No .I waited a few weeks and called again ..No .. A few weeks later ..NO... I called about ten times over six months and she always said No.. Finally I went to her place of employment and brought some candy and flowers and asked her out in person..She said No again but she twirled her fingers in her hair when she was politely saying No..I read that as something holding her back... I usually never ask why but I asked her why and she told me a couple people said to stay away as I was too rough for her and she didn't think our lifestyles would mesh.. That actually made me more confident and I said.. How about we meet for dinner sometime and we both drive our own vehicles..She finally said OK.. lol I met her for dinner 4 more times before she let me pick her up for a real date..I took her out five times before I went for first kiss..I dated only her for six months before we had sex.. She moved in with me a year later and three  years after that she got engaged to the guy who owned the farm I was working on..
If I had only texted or called I am sure I would have never got that first date ..
