There are places to get tested that are hobby friendly. You can pay between $300-$1000 for complete tests depending on how detailed you want to get. A provider should get tested every month and hobbyist should get tested every 3 months. In addition to blood tests you will need urine tests to detect other STDs such as Chlamydia and ghonorrea. Some tests are more accurate than others. There are 20 different STDs out there.

1) AIM. You can go to their office in the valley, or you can go to one of their draw stations near you.

2) $165 for an HIV PCR/DNA test and a gonorrhea/chlamydia by urine test. I've heard that you can get tested free at Planned Parenthood, but I'm pretty sure they use the Elisa test, rather than the PCR/DNA test.

3) Usually about every three months. Porn actors are required to be tested every 30 days.

Perhaps this is a little outside the bounds of TER, but do you all think it might be a good category to add to provider searches. If they could provide TER with verifyable testing data, then TER could let the rest of us know that they are clean, I bet the providres would love this (well some of them anyway) and it would be similar to places where the hobby is a legal activity...
