Short term (12 months max I would guess) perhaps but the 21st Century depression outcome is not going to be short term more like a few years if economic and financial disruption is as bad as some are suggesting.

Most Provider Rates appear reasonable and fair 2017. Most Providers appear to have the right attitude
TER goes dark 2018. Many Providers go to Twitter; Rates trend North and Attitudes Trend South
TER emerges from the dark ages at the end of 2019. To no ones surprise many (but not all) of the Providers are not thrilled.
Corona Virus March 2020. Supply of SW far exceeds the demand. Some of the Providers who appeared to be too proud of themselves are now changing their tune. Even have seen a Twitter Post from several Providers appealing to “Clients With Means” to reach out and Help out their Favorite Providers who may be in need.
Many Hobbyists have resented the attitudes of those who have taken advantage of Market conditions to exploit Clients, and in some cases price gouged. I am not one of those clients. I hold no grudges against any provider who raised their rates from $500 to $700. Free Enterprise means I can Pay Market Price or move on and search for more favorable accommodations.
I Am a little amused that some of these Providers kept believing they could continue to increase their rates and that this could go on forever. This Corona Virus may prove to be an Economic Sunami for Providers. It will probably be gone in 6-8 weeks, but the Economic effects will ripple throughout the industry. It will take a long time for Economic Recovery. Many Hobbyists are Business Owners and the Revenue streams will begin as a trickle....it will be awhile before there will be full economic recovery. Unemployment rates could reach 15%. Finally I sympathize and empathize with the Kind and Considerate Providers who represent the TER Community in Good Standing. My message is to hang in there, keep your chin up, and if you have a College degree ( Most Providers) you probably are already falling back on that!
Will MOST “pros” logically raise rates due to the LIMITED number of clients available now, and for the foreseeable future?
Or, due to market pressure and competition, will they be forced to LOWER their rates below a point they would have previously never contemplated?
Also, for those for whom providing was more of a lark, or “easy” money, how many will decide to leave the “industry” ENTIRELY?
Even a trained economist would only be able to hypothesize on the outcome. Ultimately, only time will tell...
need to worry about Stacey and Natasha raising their rates. They will remain where they are, IMO. Likewise with other girls who look similar to these two that you have recently seen.
Everyone is going to take a hair cut in this ordeal. We will see the median rates going back to where they were during the Bush 1/Clinton admins. Some will maintain their higher rates and if they get it, good for them. There will be an influx of new talent when we get on the other side of this though. It is still one of the quickest ways to make money. The fed is only going to provide so much and the ability to bring in the extra cash by shagging a couple guys a week will be much more commonplace. Prostitution in the great depression was rampant. We may get close to that again unfortunately.
In the “Great Depression,” the only thing you had to risk was your “reputation,” and even that had some flexibility, as people would understand WHY anyone would choose to work as a “SW.”
Now, by engaging in such “activities,” you’re POTENTIALLY putting yourself, and your clients, at RISK, however minimal (depending upon what demographic you fit into). 🤔

very similar to what's already been said, it seems like this is a bit of a wake up call to most SW... maybe only some. I think this was discussed recently, you (really all of us) need to save when we can... live within your/our means so we don't get knocked on our ass in a time like this.... sure, it's always going to be there but the supply and demand will definitely slow things down... the bad deal for some is it's not like someone can run down to get a quick job at starbucks... the $4,500 apartment in beverly hills... hmmmm
Yes...I have saved for a rainy day and this economic sunami. Unfortunately most providers have not; I feel sorry for most of them, but not all. There are a few that deserve this economic slap down; They have only themselves and their shitty attitudes to blame, especially those who have gouged.
I am sure we all know the type, the MHB's who have been disparaging TER and all of us "slobbyists" who post here. The very same ones who charge a grand an hour "if" you even qualify to see them that is. The ones who not only request everything short of your blood type and your mothers maiden name before they will even think about gracing you with an appointment and then who DEMAND a sizeable deposit even for the shortest visit.
If those are the women you are talking about, then yeah I share your disdain for them and their pleas for handouts where Twitter now has more panhandlers than Venice Beach. lol
Now where it comes to the hardworking decent girls who make up the vast majority of the hookers I know, I have a VERY different attitude and I have ZERO intentions of trying to take advantage of any of them because of the circumstances many of them are about to find themselves in.
For the record I am hardly going to escape this untouched, I am in the oil business and I have already take a two thirds cut in my revenue, but compared to people who are about to have ZERO income, I feel very fortunate indeed and I believe I can ride this out just fine, AND still contribute a bit to my local girls who count on me. I have a small rotation of SB's who I see on a regular basis and I am sure that for a couple of them I am going to be the difference of whether they make it through this or not.
Maybe someone here will help me out on this one but I cannot help but think there is some great 30s or 40s era movie quote we need to add to GaG's post --- something about girls school of refinement or ....

I am with you bro. You first paragraph hit it straight on the head of the nail. That is exactly what I was referring to. Like yourself I am not taking advantage of the situation by low balling any decent provider. It really hit home when I saw a retweet of a plea from a provider imploring Clients with means, please check in and offer support to SW during these tough economic times for us. This was from a lady who sent me a sneering emoji because I had the audacity to request A Grandfathered rate from December 2019.
These ladies were able to charge such ASTRONOMICAL rates because of the STRONG economy, one without any foreseeable DOWNTURN in the near future.
Clients were plentiful, as was DISCRETIONARY income to spend.
Now, almost in a split second, the tables have turned, the future is unknown, and the concept of discretionary income is no more, for NOW. 🙁
Sometimes, it takes a moment like this for SOME of us to learn some HUMILITY, and learn what our real value is in a DEPRESSED marketplace. 🤔
so i don't have a spreadsheet tracking this shit but it does look like some rates are dropping... is that just my imagination or is anyone else seeing a reduction too?
Can I agree, without using a ridiculous amount of capitalization? Times are uncertain for many/most/all of us right now. I for one will pay the lady what she is asking, and hopefully be even more generous with tips. I’m just going to hafta curtail quantity. And though not 100% I’m only going to see providers that I have seen before and felt comfortable with and whom I feel are taking precautions same as I.
As for the ladies that jacked up their rates and attitudes, and are now cutting rates to “market”, I wouldn’t go see them at lower rates because they probably feel like they now don't hafta give their best. I am betting that the ladies that have stayed steady will be at their same level of performance, and probably better as a way to show their appreciation and operate on getting repeats increased. I operate my business on gaining repeat customers through service, consistency (of price and product) and a sense of mutual gain.

I would call it more of a humiliation in your case, but if that's all you can get in to see, I guess you have no choice.
