It seems that when someone raises their rates, 2 things are common...previous clients want the old rate, and guys that didn't move on the old rate are upset that they missed something.  You can fix the first by grandfathering them in at the old rate.  The second one usually gets fixed with time.  Those guys either forget, or get replaced by others that didn't know that the rate changed.

I pay no nevermind to a lady's current recommended donation.  I'm just happy to give a donation to charity to further the goodwill that is our hobby.  We shouldn't fuss over a few bucks here or there.  I appreciate a lady's recommendation of donation and it seems to always create an atmosphere of romance afterwards.  Dump the tightwads and zero in on us worthwhile sorts.

Serena, if your rate change isn't hurting your business, then why worry about the complaints. Now if most of your business is repeat clientele then you may want to do as phil suggests and grandfather them in under the old rate.

It's the same way in every business. Unfortunately, you get the grief up front and personal, which probably makes it pretty tough. We guys struggle, like everybody else, with the increased cost of living. Charge what you makes your job most profitable and that's all. It's a business for everybody, right?

not your fault

You have to be aware that who you are and what level of provider you want to be, starting at low fee is kinda strategy of doing business especially the beginning of it. As the times gone and the more experience you gained you may have a clear thought that if you want to do many biz or you want to spare more time for you own.

Anyhow, you will have to keep up with the high score you have gained before then you wont worry if you dont have biz!!! Thats the priority ONE and the second is DO NOT jump the donation!

Listen to those gents, keep grandfathering to your regulars and even those who has contacted you before you raise the donation but you didnt have chance to arrange dates with them, thats called 'step by step'. As the time goes by, you will find more about your real value.

and you've always been very reasonably priced for a superb date.  The new schedule on your webiste is still below the market for somebody of your looks and talent.  If your friends can't recognize the reality of modern hobby economics, you need new friends.

Most guys would like to pay as little as possible.  We like getting a good deal.  It's as simple as that.

Just tell them that rates are nonnegotiable and that there are other providers they can find at a lower price.

I have seen some raise prices but offer specials from time to time for guys they have seen in the past.

There are way to many other guys for you to see without all the grief. Don't get upset if you loose your regulars to other providers. It is something that you have take in consideration as a risk when you raise prices.

Probably because this is America and a free market. I can't think of any business that doesn't get some grief when their prices go up.
