How often should you or do you test? I have seen 8 different providers a total of 12 times over the last 10 months.

I get tested every three months.

Are you worried that you have an STI?  The best way to find out is to get tested yourself.  You cannot count on every lady to get tested, and even if you can count on a lady to tell the truth about how recently she has been tested and what her results were, you can't trust the gentlemen she's been with before OR since the most recent testing.  There is no failsafe.

No I have no reason to think so. Somehow it has recently become a concern to me. I really have no explanation as to why. It seems like the right thing to do.

Which STDs? HIV, HPV, Hep C, herpes, syphilis, gonorrhea are the most frequent and worrisome. There is no right answer in terms of frequency, but many providers seem to test themselves every 6 weeks.  HIV, which is not so easy to catch, can be missed by blood testing for up to 6 months after a person gets infected. I have a regular lab and, when I am active in the hobby or with civvie friends with benefits, check myself for symptoms or signs daily and have a battery of blood tests every six weeks. (Without clear evidence, I feel safer with high class providers than with my civvie friends.)

When I said HIV is hard to catch, I meant it is hard to become infected with this virus under usual conditions: circumcised make without inflammation or open sores and without inflammation or open mouth sores having sex with an infected female has a slight chance of getting infected on any one contact.

Paranoid tendencies I get tested every 4-6 weeks generally 4. However my doc tells me once every 3 months is a good guide line but I get too nervous and feel a need to go more often .Some people never get tested as if the testing causes std's .
