Agreed, but since I'm not in a business where I come across large bills, that means I have to get to the bank while they are open and stand in line for the teller. I sometimes do this, but most often just give it in 20s, because that's what the ATM gives me.

Not knowing Ciara's prices, let's say that's $600, or 60 weeks at $10/week. He saved up for over a year for you baby!! Hope you made it a good one!

The USGubmint limits the denominations of bills to a maximum of $100. That was fine 30 years ago when $100 could buy a week's groceries or a dinner for 4 at a nice restaurant, but now we need $500 and $1,000 bills back into circulation to avoid having a wad of bills too big to carry. Furthermore, the ATMs ought to be programmed to dispense $50s and $100s. End of rant!
I wouldn't bet on seeing either the $500 or $1000 bills making a comeback. They would be too hard to negotiate outside of our hobby and putting gas in our SUV's...
I book two hour appointments which means two visits to the ATM and 30 $20 bills stuffed into an envelope. I plan ahead and go to the bank for $100's.
the government is not about to print larger bills, and, in fact, may even say goodbye to the Franklins.
The reason is that the government sees cash as the lifeblood of organized (and not so organized) crime.
If the government had it's druthers, you'd be using a credit card or a debit card to buy a stick of gum (and, in fact, that is where things are heading.)
In some ways I like it. It's nice to keep your money in the bank earning a bit of interest rather than sitting in your wallet.
On the other hand, say goodbye to all your privacy and the ability to conduct business without the government looking at every transaction you have ever made.
By the way, did you know that paper money is the main means of spreading germs that cause the common cold? True. Since I stopped using cash for most of my business and switched to plastic, I've had far fewer colds.
