I have seen comments which indicated that BJs are "supposed to be" hands free.  I'm no expert on Porn but I see very many who are doing more with hands than just steadying it.  
Now I understand that each gent has his preferances & more aptly his needs.  But let me throw my thoughts out there...

BJ as warm up or first cup...  hands free is nice.  There is a certain thrill to being swallowed whole but remember the head is the most sensitive part & gets little attention during DT.

BJ as a finale`.  Now I'm an older gent who it takes a bit to conclude.  So IMHO, if BJ is to be the final act, I prefer a lady to gradually & seemlessly add hands & what ever else it takes to complete.  (And I'll love you for it.)

I'm a "whatever it takes" kind of guy also. First off, I'm just happy that I'm getting one, so if a lady has a certain technique that does the job, I'm all for it. And I've met a few ladies with some techniques that drove me wild.

For a finale, the hand pressing on the base feels great, but the real action is happening in the first 2 or 3 inches. I think the DT is just a turn on, for me, because of the visual effect.
