at what level a hobbyist can say , let me try and go into this?? so far what i have read is that this is not a cheap hobby and some people are kind of really involved in this , so how do all these people can afford. A person making hundred plus, cannot constantly stay involved in this hobby and be not broke haha. specially if 3/4th of the times he is being ripped off. Rather I should say what is the minimum income one has to have to get involved in this hobby. some of the people are involved with multiple hours and multiple actions, OMG how much are you guys spending, please get me a job with you guys hahahahaha

At what level can anyone decide they can afford to go into anything [buy a house, a car, etc.,]?  You have to decide that.  Someone making 100+ [you mean $100,000 right?] should be able to afford this hobby no problem.

Where do you get the idea that people are getting ripped off 3/4 of the time?  At that ratio, nothing is worth getting involved in.

I have not been ripped off at all..  I stay with the top tier well reviewed providers and generally am very happy with the results.. Its truem sometimes your experience does not exactly meet your expectations but thats life!!
As far as affordability- its all relative- if you can afford once a month than thats what you do.  if you can afford once a week..great.. if you can afford more than once a week..God Bless Ya!!

As with anything, you spend what you can afford.
I set aside a certain amount of "play time" cash on a regular basis and use it as I see fit.
I don't spend more than I can afford and I don't take money away from my other obligations.

I have been "hobbying" for over 4 years and I have not once been ripped off.
I have done several overnighters, and most of the time, plan multiple hours visits. So I do plan my excursions very carefully.

Setup a budget, pay what you can afford, when you can afford it.
If you can't do that, you don't belong here.

Just my opinion...

I also have never been ripped off.
I realized quickly I could go broke if I indulged myself anytime I wanted it. So I, like other people with hobbies or whatnot, decided to work overtime and dedicate that money to this business, that way I would not "interfere" with my real-world money, thus introducing some discipline to the process.

Really! Where do you get the 3/4 rip off idea. It doesn't exist in my world or any of my friends either.

I started hobbying back in 1974 when my pay was $3/hr.  that was about $90/wk take home.

I decided that I could put aside about $20/wk toward the hobby.  A hand job back then was $50, a blow job, $75.  That let me hobby about once every three to four weeks.  As my pay went up, so did the frequency of my activities as well as the quality of the time and people I saw.

At the peak of my earnings a few years ago, it was no longer the amount of money that restricted me, but the lack of time.  At the time I was married and had two kids that needed a lot of attention on the weekends.

Now I am single and the kids are pretty well grown up, so money is the biggest factor; divorce and business downturns have done a number on my pocketbook, but I'm not complaining because life is basically good and I get enough.

My real concern is that soon it won't be time or money that limits my hobbying but the limits of my aging flesh.  But I hope I have a bit of time before that era begins.  At least the mind remains willing.

You have to do what it takes to make the bucks. If that means going back to school, getting certifications, opening your business, and/or investing do it. You also have to decide what is important in life. I know one guy who has spent 17K/year on the hobby, he is 65 now and can't retire.

I started this hobby March of this year.  I have
had 3 encounters so far, all of them spaced at
least 3 weeks apart.  I try to go at least 3
weeks to discipline myself.  I'm a 27 year old auto tech and I only use cash money I have made to go to the hobby.  I could go every 2 weeks comfortably but I want to savor this hobby; gives
me something to look foward to or strive for.

Hello gentlemen, I hope you don't mind if I tap in for a sec.  What a great discussion.  I have wondered the same about this.  All answers that fit and put the entire picture together to answer the origional question so nicely as I have seen it as well.  From another perspective of course.  As far as getting ripped off 3/4 of the time, not the case if you do your homework on this social investment as much as you would any other.  Why should anyone work so hard, to earn and achieve if you can't enjoy your recreation to make it worth it.  Regardless of what your recreation is.  Golfing, sports, dancing, art, music, socializing with the opposite sex is all an expression of pleasure. Any recreation must be calculated in.  I would like to add more, from my perspective, but do not want to tilt the thrust of this thread. But thanks to those of you who answered the question so eloquently!

Especially you slunge!

Jenni

Although this hobby is about casual NSA sex and its ready availability; too deny the very real and very deep rooted emotional, ego driven, self esteem issues and their power to rationalize their cost to the individual hobbyist often likens itself to the famous comedy writer’s therapy needs.

appreciate every one pitching in with excellent comments and really nice to hear as to how others discipline themselves or make goals to keep up with the hobby. the reason for me saying 3/4th ripoffs was that i hear all these stories specially in vegas. every friend of mine returning from vegas had a sad story to tell but again as you all mentioned a little homework and common sense would have saved them form being taken advantage of. some of you have overnighters or multiple hours , how do you guys approach that and do you guys talk about donations before because some of them are really really high , going as high as 3-4 k for 6-8 hrs. how do you guys do that ????

Most providers have rates for four hour dinner dates in the $800 - $1,000 range; and overnight rates in the $1,500 - $2,000 range.

It is pricey, but I still splurge for the experience about twice a year.

There's nothing like having unhurried snuggle time, and waking up in an early morning horny mood and being able to do something about it.

mrfisher, I know from prior discussion that we have different taste, but LV has plenty of quality ladies, so you don't need to pack a lunch.  To the original poster of this thread, if you are basing your 75% rate on LV meetings, your buddies aren't doing their homework.  LV is a BAD place to play without paying attention.  I'd bet you're not ready for Sin City, and I don't mean that as an insult.  Cut your teeth somewhere else, for your own good.

but you have to admit that they are pricey.

Also, LE is very active in protecting the financial interests of the legal brothels by trying to eliminate the competition posed by the indies in LV.

Just something for the Vegas bound hobbyist to consider, that's all.

To me it's just the rate, and travelling is a great opportunity for low cost company.

Some times even if you don't have to ask the price you still can't afford it.  But it is well worth it.
