I'm a newbie on this discussion board, but I hope people can help by giving advice on this situation.

A friend of mine who is a provider (and worked for an agency) had her real name and number posted on a craigslist ad. Both of us have flagged the ad, but it's still up. Her "agent" felt she was stiffing him and decided to go this route. I have already suggested to her to change her phone number. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on what she should do? Thank you.

Yes call him and thank him for the business , change her number and google her number as well as intellus and make sure her addy doesn't come up accompanying it. Otherwise Move. Not to sound harsh but if someone can get her addy from her number she should then be concerned.
As far as the agent I would love to know who he is so I know I never work with near or for him. Perhaps that is a good idea, pm all girls in his area and let them know what a complete ass he really is and then lets see how much money the pussiless wonder makes on this business:) No vagina no go with the guys I am guessing ,no? He needs the girls, having balls isnt all that helpful to him is it hummmmm. No new girls no new business:) All of them leave at some point new recruits would be hard to find if the girls put the word out.
I once had someone out me in this business to my family , boyfriend at the time the ex even and although I can not pretend I wasn't upset at first I did let them know how grateful I was to them and I was .Think of it not hiding anything anymore:) LOVER it! Thanks I am free to be me! What do I owe you? Because this is priceless. They weren't all that happy with their result:) They repeatedly for 2 yrs gave me a hardtime I laughed the entire way it really was liberating and to think I am that important to someone somewhere .teehee Kendall

CL is anonymous.  She can only guess (or, YOU can only guess) that it is the agent behind this.  Craigslist will not be of any help though when the ads go up they should be reported to "abuse@" so they can get pulled.  In theory CL tracks the abusers and bans them from the site, though I've seen otherwise.

Assuming it is him - do you really want to do anything?  Do you know how nasty he might get in the future?  You are dealing with a criminal organizer... be cautious.  Change the number ASAP.  Move on.

Assuming it is not him - well, you can't go around slandering others on suspicion.  Trust me, I've been there, absolutely CONVINCED that I knew what was going on when all I knew is what made the most sense and rumor.  May I humbly suggest it's a great way to make a fast enemy and maybe even get in to all out war?  Again, it's best to change the number ASAP.  Move on.

This is really nasty & potentially injurious.  The guy is a loose cannon, this act shows a huge disrespect.  While he should be out of this business, she needs to give him wide berth & hope no one else does something to him & she gets blamed.
Perhaps he's hoping she'll come crawling back & beg him to take it down?  Then he'll own her...

I don't know how many flag it takes to pull an ad, but hopefully others will help out on this.
Best of Luck,
skb

How do you know that it was the agent that did this? As long as her real address is not posted then it's not so bad. There is not a lot that can be done about stuff posted on CL.

1.  The number posted on CL can be searched for in a reverse directory (white pages.com etc) and it reveals the listing's real name and address: move.  You are screwed and thats that.

2.  If the number does NOT reveal personal data about you (real name & address), do NOT have the number disconnected.  Get a SECOND and UNLISTED number on ir or start doing business ONLY through 'throw away' cell phones.  Put the original and publicized number on an answering machine, never answer calls to it, screen the calls and return the calls you feel comfortable with and THEN give the callers you KNOW your new number.  Let LE and the freaks from CL talk a blue streak to your voicemail on the old number and hit DELETE but NEVER talk to them.

Contact CL about removing the ad. Contrary to what someone else posted a real first and last name and a phone number are all you need to research someone on the internet. Will a guy looking for pussy on CL do this? It's doubtful but, if the idiot who posted her real world info is enough of an A-hole he may keep doing it. She CAN contact the authorities about this if she feels the need. CL may also be able to block his ability to place further listings. Harassment is harassment and any previous business relationship that she may have had with the idiot posting her info is strictly hearsay.

Tell them to remove the add.  As for the agent...a vengeful pimp?  Just another reminder to avoid CL and agencies...not worth the aggravation...

I agree, use the "prohibited" box to get the ad down.  Also keep the old phone for a while & like has been suggested, screen all calls.  Get a new phone...  call it your private line...  only give it to verified clients.  At some future time you may want to discontinue the old number & get a new one.
