This always gets non replied- seems to be a 'no talk subject'.

One in five guys has positie antibody to herpes, one in four women according to CDC.  Has to be higher in the promiscous population than general population.  Ninety percent are asymptomatic and aren't aware of lesions, but all shed virus periodically.

Yet if a guy is a known GH or a provider is, they become a pariah.

So... Ladies:  will you seen a known GH client knowing that one of five you see anyway are positive?  Is it common knowledge that many providers are positive? Is suppressent therapy common?  Do they just not work during outbreaks?

Guys.... do you continue to hobby when positive?

I'd love to see an honest alias discussion.

bottom line, and I mean the absolute Bottom Line...
If you test possative for herpies 1 or 2
Ladies you are immediately in retirement and should try n contact as many as you can of the Gents you have seen since your last test.  Herpes is usually an 8 to 10 week period where even though you have been infected, it may still not show up, so test often. We all have regs and if you have seen them you need to be responsable and tell them to get tested if you come up possative for either.

Gentlemen, you also need to done playing this game. Herpes folks is forever, yes it does go dorment in your nervous system and you are at times not infectious, yet there is no way to determine when that time is and it just isn't safe.
Herpes is a skin to skin contact transference. Can happen even with condoms. Won't kill you but then you have it for life. Also makes you more suseptable to other viruses such as HIV to name one.
CDC states that about 70% of those infected with herpes 1 and 2 do not know it. They have silent outbreaks and are basically carriers. This can be transmitted through oral sex also and herpes 1 which is typically known, cold sores, can be transfered to genitals as well as herpes 2 can be transfered to your mouth, lips and the inside of your mouths tissue.
Herpes can also infect your eyes tissue.

Test regularly and often for all STDs and if you are infected with one that is incurable, this hobby should be part of your past only.

Play safe everyone, and by all means, educate yourself!!!

1- Just because 1 out of 5 men are GH positive does not mean "one of five they see anyway are positive" !!!

2- The risk of getting STDs from a random stranger at the bar is much higher than getting it from a provider. Why? Because providers know having unprotected sex with a player is as dangerous as driving with blind fold on! They know being safe and getting tested regularly is what makes their service worth the price.

Remember Hobby's rule number one is : playing safe which happens to be the reason why we are here. The risk is there, the only way to eliminate it is to stop having sex, if that's not an option you can lower the risk by paying for the service from a professional instead of getting it for free from some stranger you picked up at the club.

Couple weeks ago, I went to see the urologist, and had him run the full STD panel.  Everything came back negative - Whew!

I didn't ask specifically what tests are in the full panel.  Anyone know if Herpes tests are part of the panel?

While the presence of herpes antibodies does not mean you are shedding, I check myself for this regularly along with tests for all reasonably testable STDs. (The post above is accurate.) If I were not negative, I would stop doing anything with anybody except maybe hand jobs or mutual masturbation.  One way clients can catch herpes is by daty with a provider who is shedding (and unaware.) I do take a viral suppressor along with certain antibiotics the day before, day of, and day after a date hoping to protect myself from getting infected.  There is no evidence this is effective, but I do it anyway.

"Yesterday I felt the pain of another cold sore about to erupt. I started thinking back on what I had been eating. I've known for years that peanuts and chocolate trigger attacks. Nuts of all kinds are also troublesome. In frustration, I looked up the chart below and noted the foods to avoid.  I was shocked to realize that in the past several weeks I had indulged in everything on the list

Most cold sores are caused by the Herpes Complex Type 1. Research shows that the herpes virus must have the amino acid arginine in order to replicate. Herpes sufferers who eat a lot of arginine-rich foods need more lysine, another amino acid,  in order to control their herpes.

To avoid herpes attacks, balance out the high-arginine foods with high-lysine foods. A classic combination is eating brown rice with cooked dried beans. While brown rice is high in arginine (190 mg), the dried beans have an excess of 270 mg. of lysine, which more than compensates for the lack of lysine in the brown rice. Another approach is to eat very small portions when eating high-arginine foods like hazel nuts and peanuts. Eating certain foods and avoiding others can reduce the pain and prevent recurrences of herpes attacks.  "

What about unprotected DATY and BBBJ? If you think that all escorts/hobbyists are disease free or safer(how many do and have done bareback in this community as well as contributing from sex with civvies) you're kidding yourself. Just the sheer numbers make a difference. You see providers and hobbyists drop off the face of the earth and really don't know why or if an explantion is given how do you know if it's the truth?

Hepatitis C
Herpes Types I and II
Gonorrhea

Syphilis

My lab also includes HPV with a comprehensive screening, but not all labs include it.

Hope this helps!  :)

Correct! 99% of reviews include DATY, BBBJ or DFK so the odds for herpes are pretty high. plus "Just the sheer numbers make a difference."

I know so many people that get cold sores, and when I say to them its a form of herpes they freak out and say its not, that cold sores are different.... I do not understand how they could be so selfish and put others at risk.

you asked for honesty, i don't think we've gotten it thus far.

no one has stepped up and said i have herpes.

if  1) Donald-Trump's post above is correct and "1 out of 5 men are GH positive"

and 2) as sweetnicole1 posts "CDC states that about 70% of those infected with herpes 1 and 2 do not know it"

and 3) about 200 people have read this post.

Then  wouldn't that mean that that about 12 people who have read this know they have herpes?

I think the number is a lot higher.

that's why no LFK, DFK, BBBJ, or DATY for me with any provider.

On another note:
Would any one be willing to show their tests results before a starting an appointment ?

Ok so, nearly everyone I have ever known has had a cold sore.  Pretty much the entire human population is or has been exposed to Herpes Complex 1.  "Risk" is relative in this case.  It's Complex 2 that is the big issue.

However, I should note that I have never had a cold sore.. I've always thought that was very odd...

Over 70% of the clients you engage in your sessions are positive for herpes 1 or 2. You are exposed on a daily or weekly basis. To say that 70% of all people should not engage in sex is dreaming. To be honest and realistic with each other is a much more viable solution. Herpes is not going away in the near future.

It is estimated that about 80% of the adult population is infected with HSV 1 (cold sores or "the kissing herpes").  If you are tying to hit the subset of that 20% not infected and also knowing it - you won't have many clients at all.  You will probably be trying to pick from about 5% of the population, maybe.

Now, HSV 2 is an entirely different story and a big concern.  In that instance, I heartily agree with your statement

When I had an incall and was working daily, I never had a problem leaving my most recent test results in plain view on my bathroom counter-

I've never refused any "regular"  access to my test results-  Your post seems to suggest this isn't common.... I know plenty of established providers who have no problems making recent tests results available to regular clients.

On a similar note- there are several foreign countries that actually require recent test results- including sexually transmitted diseases when you enter and apply for a VISA- I don't think requesting a screening is that big of a deal-

Just my .02 cents ~T

I have no control over what others do, I just know if I was to test possative for either, herpes 1 or 2 I would be done playing here. I prefer NOT to pass a virus on to anyone else.
I test often and have never tested possative.
What you or anyone else chooses to do, is for you to decide. Simple as that.  I know I can live with the choices I make.

this is not just simple dating, this business comes with a pile of health risks as well as responsabilities which being in this business we need to be aware of. Testing is key, hobbyists as well as providers.
Look its all about being responsable, being proactive about your own health.

Let's face it, if one in 5 males has it (one in 4 females) and 70-90% are unaware due to asymptomatic,  providers, you are seeing clients with herpes.....  and hobbyists, you are seeing providers with herpes.

So, why make knowns a pariah....  if they are on supressent therapy and protected sex, aren't you better off seeing them than the unknown infecteds?

Lets face it, in many sessions there is genital to genital contact even if covered in penetration.
