It is a combination of looks and performance.  Some have tried just putting together a great looking website with professional photo's and then start charging a king's ransom.  That may work for a few unsuspecting Rubes, but the repeat business will be drawn to an unforgettable experience, whether it will be a PSE with someone he has seen in films, or an especially talented, good looking independent with a long list of reviews extolling her charms.

I don't know if Professionalism is the right word..... Although it is good, it will not be the primary Siren's call used to lure upscale clients to you.  Look at Sasha in New York (mood) or BebeDoll (literary content) in Chicago for how to design a website that stands apart from the rest.  If you see yourself as the romantic type, set the mood to reflect that.  If you want to set yourself as an exotic creature that devours (but in a good way), ditto.  The truly upscale provider can weave a spell so intense that circuit breakers in the hobbyist's heart, mind, and soul will be tripping from the intensity.  Unfortunately, it's setting a high bar, but if you want the upscale label, you have to set yourself apart.

1. Personality, particularly intelligence and worldliness - whether she's fun.
2. Performance -- enthusiasm, technique, imaginativeness.
3. Professionalism
4. Looks.

In that order.

While thinking about how best to answer your question I visited your website. And the answer came to me. The best way to describe an upscale lady and the Creme de la crop is simply "Sheer Utopia". I gotta get to New York real soon!

all of the above.... to me upscale means much above average...in looks, in performance, in professionalism (attitude, attire, communication, knowing your client wants + little more) and of course in $$$$$ should follow.  Quality over quantity should be upscale provider's motto...

Ok, well I haven't started a good fight in months so I will say what I say, try and defend and then let the mud slinging begin.

To my mind, an upscale provider is a more expensive better looking provider than on average. Perfomance is importance but in context wiht everything else.  And a upscale provider is also by definition low volume and exclusive.

Ok, now the defense.  The bus is a good cheap form of transportation, very efficient, able to service many customers and keep many people happy.  A formula one race car is not a cheap form of transportation, holds only one and no one but the driver is ever really happy with the car.  But it is beautiful and the perfomance (pure speed and handling without regard for people carrying capacity or baggage capacity) is outstanding.

So someone who gets 6-7looks/10 performance is not an upscale provider.  She is someone to be valued and cherished by the community for the valuable person she is but what she is is great, not upscale.

And someone who gets 10/10 but is not expensive is a treasure and one to be honored by one and all but not upscale.

No, to be upscale, you have to priced above the standard of the community with good looks and performance that on occasion can win a race.  The real hallmark is to be leaking "motor oil" and still claim to be better than anyone else. LOL

Presentation and attitude.

A great deal of work goes into presentation. Diet, exercise, quality cosmetics, fine clothes, finer underclothes, good shoes, gentle perfume, hair, nails and on and on. A fine woman is one who can manage all of these intricate details and make it look easy.

Attitude. A fine woman can hold herself tight and proper in a social setting, dressed and made up to the nines and send a man flying with eye contact, a smile and a shrug. In private she is fantasy fulfilled. Beyond mechanical, she teaches and performs at the same time, showing and allowing a man places and feelings he could not have even guessed exist.

Reaching this level of fulfillment takes a lot of preparation and effort, both mental and physical. Like true professionals, some women make it seamless (unless you count her stockings) and look so easy. Doing this gig is almost never easy.

You left out the obvious though. All men, even those of means are NOT all Gentleman. Some of the wealthiest men I know are total slobs. Attempting to demonstrate grace to men such as these is a waste of effort.

And there are guys like me who probably should not be here... But have been escorted to places beyond reason or imagination.

Marketroid Term

I always thought of "upscale" as being a nearly meaningless marketroid bullshit term, almost devoid of content. Some people use the word, some don't, and there isn't much pattern to it. If a provider is called "upscale" or a doctor is called "professional" or a beer is called "full bodied", you don't know any more than you did before.

"With discerning taste" is also pretty iffy. Maybe the two empty terms can be combined into a mutual definition. A provider is upscale if men -- excuse me, I mean -- GENTLEMEN with discerning taste happen to like her. There. Pretentious enough?  Ahh... the fantasy begins long before the meeting: She softly whispers, "we're sooo elite," into my ear, as we gaze out of the upscale hotel window at the Little People on the street and their cheap, tedious lives.

and seen your TER profile, I'll say that you're none of what I described in my earlier answer.  I answered first deliberately.  I wanted to answer the question while I had no impression of the person asking.

Now I have only one suggestion to offer: leave well enough alone.  Don't cheapen your website with meaningless advertising jargon like "upscale".
