TER General Board

Question for staff...

Until a few months ago I had the pleasure of a VIP membership via a paid subscription and then, sadly, it ran out.  Though I would love renew my subscription I am a little paranoid about going through iBill (as I had previously done).  I have a small business and my wife takes care of paying the bills.  Imagine my surprise when when showed my Am Ex bill with a $50 charge from iBill.  Being the efficient money manager she is, she had already taken it upon herself to call iBill and question the charge.  I tried not to turn too red, and explained that it was probably for some software I had purchased.  I never brought it up again, and the fact that she didn't bring it up again, and we're still married, makes me think maybe iBill never got back to her.  BUT... and here's the real question, if a person called iBill to verify a charge what would iBill's response be?  Since my wife is a joint account holder on the card I would imagine they would have to tell her something.  But would it be "Oh... that's because your scum husband bought a subscription to this sex board called The Erotic Review." or would it "Oh... that is a charge by Creative Enterprises, Inc., probably just some software he bought."

I'm anxious to renew but need some clarification on this if possible.

Just make sure that you use an email account which your wife does not know about.

If she has the credit card number and email address, she can go to the ibill site and see the vendor.

She doesn't know my email, but she knows our credit card number, and that's all iBill would need to know to look up her question.

You might get a better answer emailing customer support directly.

However, if it's like most CC companies, she would get a reply similar to "That charge came from a company called Warped Monkey".  Of course then she says what the heck is warped monkey?  At that point, there may be a general classification that they may tell her, but I suspect it  would probably be generic enough not to figure out about the board.  Although, if she really wants to know, once she has the name...

TER does accept money orders.  Stop by the post office to buy one, drop it in an envelope and mail it.  Your worst exposure is that the USPS loses it.

You might try one of those pre paid credit cards such as Visabuxx @www.visabuxx.com or the one Bank of America issues. They are used just like credit cards without restrictions and I believe they have an online only option so you will not get a paper statment.

Next you need to use windows 2000 or XP professional and have separate users and keep your favorites under your private user files. and set history to delete asap and do manually.  This is not totally safe but if she is not a computer wiz it is safer than nothing.
