Several recent posts re STD's make me ask this question of providers.
If a hobbyist was honest and told you up front that he had previously had HPV (genital warts, but had been treated and there were no visible signs, would you still consent to see him? Since, it is my understanding, there is no cure and the man could still transmit the STD, is there any "protection" you could use?
I would just like providers opinions. I am sure some guys who have no visible signs would just keep quiet. But, the question is, what does honesty get you?
In my personal life, as well as in my Provider life, I have to make the very best decisions I possibly can. Since the highest road, and best possible choice would be to choose not to, then that would be the choice I would HAVE to make, particularly when there are many people relying on me to make good choices. I have a responsibility to them. I would like to assume (as mentioned before in another thread a few months back) that the same sense of responsibility and courtesy is shown to me (us).
Now, your last sentence.. Remember the phrase "Honesty is the best policy"? It still is. Doing the right thing, IS the right thing. What does kindness 'get you'?; being a good person? Doing unto others as you would have done to you? In the biggest of Big Pictures, it is noted.
I feel your pain, I do. HPV is one that will need education - knowledge is power. Absorb information. See if there are contact groups or DB's for people with HPV for questions and support (just as there are for Herpes, etc.)
