my doctor told me i had to give up smoking, drinking, and sex. i said doc, will i live longer? he said no, but it will seem like it...
i will always choose that which gives my life QUALITY over that which gives my life QUANTITY. personally, i would not choose a few orgasms over the ability to spend my retirement years in relative comfort near the ocean... but i wouldn't presume to make that choice for others or to judge them for making it.
our medical community has spent vast amounts of time and resource trying to keep people alive at any cost, in the face of the certain knowledge that the human body cannot last more than about 120 years. the result is a population with a lifespan signifigantly longer than society has use for; a small % of 85+ adults (with money) living in relative comfort and the rest in overcrowded nursing homes wishing they had EITHER led a healthier lifestyle so they could have kept their teeth for "steak night" OR that they had chewed the yohimbe root, had a few extra orgasms, and died of a massive stroke long before they received their senior citizen's ID good for discounts in movie theatres and buffet restaurants everywhere.
Never tried Viagra, but this Cialis stuff is pretty wild.
I'm young 40's and decided to give it a whirl. First, it works quick - about 20 minutes. Second, when I met my ATF in the car, and she said "let's just skip dinner and go back to the hotel", I found myself walking through the lobby with a woody. An unwanted hard on in public last happened in my teens.
Highest intensity is 24 hours, but it's still working after 48. I had much better orgasm control, and could recover real quick. Second time around could go forever. The little guy was hard enough to go through drywall.
A little bit of a headache the next morning. Kind of like having one beer too many the night before. Definitely felt the burning stomach the next morning, relieved by food.
Info on these drugs state that if you don't have erectile dysfunction, you won't benefit. I don't have ED, and I really enjoyed it. Just be careful if you have heart problems, particularly if you're on nitrates. It's fun, but not fun enough to die for.
Hopefully, you all have discussed this with your Doctors, and really do 'need' it?
Who knows how safe any of this stuff really is..they thought Fen-Pfen was..they thought Tylenol was (and that is still, unbelievably, on the market) and how many countless others..
As soon as they make their millions, THEN does it come out how dangerous it is..!
I'd be researching the hell out of it before I took it.
Granted, who doesn't like a woody stiff enough to go through drywall??
But at what costs..
I dunno. Just me, being me...
tylenol IS safe... relatively speaking.... unless you take it by the handful - and then it is toxic to your liver. guess what the number one drug of overdose is in the US? that's right, tylenol. BECAUSE everybody thinks it is a mild, safe, miracle drug. so they take it by the handful.
aspirin was once thought to be a miracle drug. IT IS! but that doesn't mean that everyone can use it, all they want, whenever they want. many people have allergies to it, and many have internal problems with which aspirin can exacerbate internal bleeding.
cocaine was a miracle anesthetic; STILL USED medically in some circumstances. nitrous oxide (laughing gas), dentist's dream, lots of fun at parties, can cause brain death in just a few minutes. morphine, heroin, even lsd - all developed medically.
fen-fen? i'd like to meet the bastard who took it off the market, i was alert in the morning and losing weight!!!
here's a tip for you and this is a FACT, i welcome all attempts to refute this statement:
ALL FOOD IS POISON. Everything we ingest (liquids, solids, gasses) will KILL us if we take it in incorrectly or in sufficient quantities.
ever hear of water intoxication? do you drink your 8 glasses a day? some people have disorders that make them drink such large quantities of water that their bodies electrolytic balance is thrown off and they often die of heart arrythmias.
anyway, i have no idea of what my point is.
oh never mind (this joke's getting old)
but to save my arse [sic] i will share a poignant tale that will illustrate how foolhardy men can be when it cums to cum(ing)
a urologist friend of a friend of a friend was telling me a disturbing trend: so many of male patients diagnosed with prostate cancer would vehemently reject radical prostatectomy (and similar surgical "cures") fearing sexual impotence, even when it was strongly recommended by their urologists in order to stop the cancer from spreading to the seminal vessicles and lymph nodes (which means near certain death!)
in short, they were willing to risk dying in order not to lose their erections ... women, of course, would not understand this
Yeah, yeah, I'll give you an erection right here! Oh! Oops!
Actually, I CAN (somewhat, to a degree) understand that. I have said before, that if I ever had breast cancer, I would rather refuse treatment and pass on than go through all the RADICAL treatments offered. So, someone said, then you're be more willing to die than lose your breasts? It was an interesting question, but was somewhat out of context for that particular conversation.
But, my feelings weren't so much about that as about going through all the radical treatments. So, if that ever happened, I would go as natural as possible, trying treatments that have WORKED, and if all failed, time to go. Surgery has it's place, certainly. I don't want it to appear that I am blindly saying natural, or nothing. My ex's family has a lot of cancer history. Both my ex-husband and his brother are cancer survivors. Both had surgery and got it all. My brother in law's concern was also that he would not be able to have an erection. Thankfully, he is.
Anyway, we could have lengthy discussions, that would spin off into a dozen more, and all very thought provoking..but I'll end here so as not to open cans of worms..nor to lead this thread into a depressing tailspin!
The long and short of it is (no pun intended), that yes, I WOULD believe some people would do that..
it's funny (well not really, but whatever) i was JUST thinking of that example with breast cancer and the horrid butchery that it can sometimes lead to, and thinking "my god, what would a woman do in that situation" ... thanks for answering it
ultimately, i think "lust for LIFE" rules out all other passions!
my doctor told me i had to give up smoking, drinking, and sex. i said doc, will i live longer? he said no, but it will seem like it...
i will always choose that which gives my life QUALITY over that which gives my life QUANTITY. personally, i would not choose a few orgasms over the ability to spend my retirement years in relative comfort near the ocean... but i wouldn't presume to make that choice for others or to judge them for making it.

I think the real drive here is that of reproduction and not just of orgasm. After all the males of some species die in reproducing; Salmon, praying mantis, etc. So this decision is not as strange as it may seem if you accept the theory that the goal of all living creatures is to reproduce their kind.
My .02
Easy for you to say Sedona, who don't need the woody to go thru dry wall. God the preasure!
Well, my input is one of health concern, since he mentioned that he has no erectile dysfunction, no problems, but just wanted to try it. Same with the 25 year old in a previous thread who wanted to try it.
Certainly for those that have the need, it has been a real blessing.
Are you kidding? Though women are not typical 'visual' - one sight that gets us revved up is the sight of a nice hard d**k!
We can't get to it fast enough! LOL
As far as pressure, no, we don't experience that one (but others) and thankfully, we want the guys to know that there isn't the pressure with us (vs. civies, wouldn't you agree?), or shouldn't be (as much) anyway.

Actually from what I have read on the web, it takes fewer than a handful to mess up your liver.
I personally will never take the stuff again (after what I've read) and thank you Sedona for the heads up.

I'm glad I saw your reply and thank YOU for the article.
Here is what I PM'd Clarence and Catlin that I didn't want to post earlier and draw away from EJ2's post:
Well, as you may have read, I had Hepatitis and was deathly ill..
I had doctors around me for months, and in that time, as well as other occasions I will mention, I have been told over and over again by doctors, pharmacists and those who work in pharmaceuticals that not only was Tylenol NOT safe, but harmful, as well as stating that the documentation years ago showed that it was harmful but it was approved anyway and 'hushed'.
When you hear over and over again, over the course of many YEARS the same things, you have to look at it.
I have doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and a sister (who works for a leading pharmaceutical co) in my family, and all do not condone the use of Tylenol.
Even my doctor does not prescribe Tylenol for his patients, but especially because of my history, told me to avoid it at all costs.
Thanks for your post.
i'm not dysfunctional but don't get as hard or last as long as i once did. now that i'm in the hobby, i live in constant fear of shelling out a week's pay expecting to play mark wohlberg early in "boogie nights" but finding myself instead as nicholson late in "carnal knowledge". (hey, there's some movie trivia! ![]()
anyways, i tried a few over-the-counter products and stumbled upon "stamina rx", available at amazing dot nets for two bucks a pill or 40 bucks for a bottle of 30. the main ingredients seem to be xanthoparmelia scabrosa (!), gaba, and yohimbe for short term effects and L-arginine for longer term. i take one pill and about an hour later i have a boner that could not be scratched with a diamond. i reload almost immediately and can go 4 or 5 times without any problem. in fact, it's almost annoying sometimes (i need to sleep, damn it
also, the effects of one pill seem to last for several days.
i would not take these things if i had any blood pressure problems or risk for stroke. the only side effect i have experienced is when i take them two at a time and wash them down with alcohol, i get a very mild headache.
Yes, the natural products have been known to work very well. Yohimbe gets good 'reviews', though I would certainly do some reading about it and make sure the product is a good, reputable brand that offers standardized herbs.
I think that culturally, we are just after the 'quick fix' rather than take the time to find the cause and look at all the factors.
For a relatively 'young' man, we'll say 40's, to not perform as he used to, I'd have to wonder if he was a smoker? (The ingredients in cigarettes affect ability)..Overweight? Sleeping well? Exercising? Eating habits? Job stress? Depression? Etc..
There's the philosophy of 'live fast, die young and have a good looking corpse' (serious movie trivia on that line); or the philosophy of taking the best care of our bodies now because they will have to take care of us later.
It's certainly a personal decision but my feeling is to listen to your body, do right by it, and make the best (not the easiest) decision..
Just my opinion.
I nearly had a stroke a year ago from Viagra. My doctor prescribed it, I had a physical, yet...........I ended up in the hospital with an occluded carotid artery. This means that one of the major arteries into my brain became closed and will be forever more. It just goes to show, you never know. Be careful with this stuff.
Memorable Quotes from
Carnal Knowledge (1971)
I believe the character of Jonathan (played by the great thespian Jack Nicholson) just may be the progenitor of the genus you TERans call "Cynicalman"
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Jonathan: Is this an ultimatum? Answer me, you ball-busting, castrating, son of a cunt bitch! Is this an ultimatum or not?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Jonathan: Believe me, looks are everything.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Bobbie: I need a life.
Jonathan: Get a job!
Bobbie: I don't want a job. I want you.
Jonathan: I'm taken, by me. Get out of the house, do something useful, Goddammit.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Jonathan: You want a job? I got a job for you. Fix up this pigsty! You get a pretty Goddammed good salary for testing out this bed all day! You want an extra fifty dollars a week, try vacuuming! You want an extra hundred, make this Goddammed bed! Try opening some Goddammed windows! That's why you can't stand up in here, the Goddammed place smells like a coffin!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Jonathan: Why don't you leave me? ... For God's sake, I'd almost marry you if you'd leave me.
Is there a lawyer in the house??? I think I'm an heir to the "Nicholson" millions.
I don't believe you can purchase Stamina RX right now. See the following notice posted at one of the on-line pharamacy sites:
Our Stamina-Rx page is under revision. The USFDA is warning consumers against taking Stamina RX. The FDA Talk Paper TO3-48, June 20, 2003, explains:
"Today, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning consumers not to purchase or consume the following products: SIGRA, STAMINA Rx and STAMINA Rx for Women, Y-Y, Spontane ES and Uroprin, manufactured by NVE, Inc., in Newton, N.J. and distributed by Hi-Tech in Norcross, Ga. These products, which are being marketed as dietary supplements, actually contain a prescription drug ingredient that poses possible health risks. The products are being sold over-the-counter and are claiming to increase stamina, confidence and performance.
FDA has determined that the products actually contain the prescription-strength drug ingredient, tadalafil. Tadalafil is the active ingredient in Cialis, an Eli Lilly product approved in Europe to treat male erectile dysfunction. An interaction between certain prescription drugs containing nitrates (such as nitroglycerin) and tadalafil may cause a drastic lowering of blood pressure. There is real danger that this product may be taken by patients taking nitrates since erectile dysfunction is often a common problem in people with diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure), hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol), ischemic heart disease and in people who smoke."
i find a product i like, they take it off the market.
- the only cold remedy that ever worked for me was chlortrimeton (the straight stuff, not the half-assed "allergy relief" formula). GONE.
-ephedra, of course, as i state earlier. thank god for amazing dot net where you can still find 325MG pills, six for a buck 99. i better buy everything on the shelf, though, as re-stocking probably won't be happening soon.
-stamina rx IS available but once again, re-stocking may not happen. i have about a bottle and a half (40-45 pills) at the moment. at the rate i'm getting laid, they should last me until april 1st, 2033.
thanks for the info on stamina rx, though. how cool is it that they disguised a prescription drug for over the counter sales! anybody know where i can get some original coke-a-cola?
