I agree 100% with Nicole. Never have the bottle already opened. It is common knowledge that in some cities, guys have slipped lady's a micki to knock them out, not to have sex with them, but to rob them. This usually happens more for lady's at in-call locations because the guy knows she probably has a lot of cash on hand. Open it in her presence and also drink before she does . Many people are not that paranoid but just incase the lady is uncomfortable, you may want to do this to avoid any suspicion or drama. I know this is a rare and extreme situation, but I also know it happens enough that some lady's will indicate that they do not drink while entertaining.

If the lady is someone who you have never seen before, you may want to try to give her as much heads up about what you are bringing or expect so that she can be prepared. While setting up the date, ask if she would be interested in you bringing some wine. If so, ask her what type SHE likes. It covers a few areas. One, you've established that it is okay or not to bring the wine. Two, she may be more comfortable if it is a kind she likes. (Wines run the spectrum of tastes). Three, you've engaged in a little small talk and know at least SOMETHING about the lady.
