Provider References

So today one of my regulars asked me to be a reference for someone else he wanted to see. I have zero problem providing a reference to anyone I'd be willing to see again. Referencences are for peace of mind amongs providers, an even if I disliked the person, I'd likely still give them a reference.

However this situation was different than what I've encountered this far. Apparently the escort in question directed the client to tell me that I needed to contact her in order to give the reference. This instantly rubbed me the wrong way, as I expect someone requesting a reference to actually do the work for it. In this situation this girl had the audacity to expect me to seek her out to do so.

This put it lightly, I told the client that under no circumstance will I ever do another providers job for her.

What are your views? Has this happen to you (provider or hobbyist)?

If you agree, why? If you disagree, why?

If SHE WANTS a reference,  she should contact you.
References are a courtesy but I've never been asked to contact the person wanting one. Is she a new provider?

Otherwise we'll all be busing our own tables in restaurants next.   (Come to think of it, we do bus our tables at some places these days.  Oh, well.)

the other provider who needs a reference should be the one to reach out, and include all information to the other provider. Not only the gentlemen's information, but hers as well. Honestly, she sounds rude and lazy.

I am reference friendly, but that would irritate me as well.

xoxo Ciara

Her point was make sure your reference is OK with providing feedback... perhaps she was trying to be respectful of everyone involved and not just being lazy ... benifit of the doubt

The one who is checking the reference should contact the one providing the reference. I agree with you. No reason for you to do her job.

I never had this happen. I did direct a few guys to someone else if they were traveling and gave those gals a heads up.

I think it is also a safety/confidentiality issue if you send an unsolicited reference to a provider you don't know.  Much better to stick with the traditional response to a reference request...

Maybe, she thinks that no provider will go to those lengths for a client. It's possible it's just making him do the impossible so she doesn't have to say no.

It's a LOT easier to just "go dark" and put the guy on ignore.

She sounds like an entitled and demanding woman and the OP's client would be well served to take heed of this red flag and move on to a more professional and less entitled provider.
