My Mother always taught me that when I hug someone, they should know they've been hugged.

So I saw a lady yesterday evening who I've seen 5 times previous, and after she closed the door behind me she walked into my arms and gave me a proper hug. In our first few meetings she would lightly hug me with the pat on the back thing, she has learned over time that I want a proper hug, and she told me yesterday before I left the room how much she enjoys my hugs, so I've got that going for me.

Anyone else notice how tentative a hug can be and over time it develops into a proper hug?

I have one hobbyst ( well, he seems to be amateur), he hugs me everyday with virtual hug for three weeks now. Hopefully in a week he should appear to me in flesh ( he's in the other state). What I wonder if his virtal hug and our extraterrestrial love will live up to our expectation ( mostly to his expactations). I once told him that I am material girl and he shouldn't have high expectations. He was very dissappointed that I said it to him. Anyway let's drink for warm hugs, virtual or otherwise. Xo

i get tons of hugs, proper and otherwise, from civvies.

i'm expecting other things from my provider friends.

not to disparage close emotional contact between providers and clients, i've gotten that, too.  but i can take or leave hugs if dfk is not involved.

Hugs are one of the best forms of affection & appreciation. People always love to give them. I am the type who has always loved to give hugs for the last 38 years(Regardless if the person wants it or not).

but I have heard of proper handshakes.
