Did you all know that if a women requests that her reviews be taken down she is threatened with a lifelong ban from TER and the suggestion is made by Staff that she "rethink" her request.  

Outrageous and, given that I've paid for my membership, possibly a breach of your local consumer laws.

I've heard of many other ladies having their reviews taken down, but never heard of them banning you for life because of it???  I do see the attached link that you have from the TER support staff, but I am in shock.  Maybe Staff himself will clarify what they mean.  You have been a valuable asset to TER and the boards and it would be a shame to see you banned!

If a provider does not want to have reviews on TER, we respect that and remove them upon request unless they are a rip-off.  

By asking to be “delisted”, they no longer want allow the membership to submit reviews on them or allow open discussion about them on the boards.  We take this request for “privacy” very seriously. The provider either allows reviews and discussion or they do not.  Allowing delisted providers to post ads on the boards, join in chats, and use the private mail system could jeopardize the very privacy they request. To insure this does not happen, we ban delisted providers user accounts and refund any VIP membership they have purchased.

Once “delisted”, we do not allow the provider to return to TER.

I think STAFF should lighten up.  Geez, the reviews are great and maybe she just wants to lay low for a while....  Who cares, as long as she is not ripping people off or using the de-listing as a device to gain an unfair advantage....  But, since I cannot see how that would work, why all the hubub, bub?  MA

You do not see how allowing a provider to advertise on the boards but, to protect her "privacy", not allowing the membership to read and write reviews on her as fair?

In your own reply you state "I just want my reviews taken down to protect my privacy."  We simply wanted to make you aware that privacy is not selective. In another words, you cannot pick and choose what we can or cannot publish or when we can or cannot publish it.  Privacy is all or nothing.

TER has taken two huge hits this month with the losses of NetMichelle and now Emma Bond. What the hell is going on around here?

I have to support the staff on this.I understand their concerns and you would to if the situtation was different and you blamed them for exposeing personal or sensitive.It doesn't take a Super-genius like me to understand this one.

Can you imagine TER without reviews? Here's your reason. But,you can take solace that the real good providers don't need reviews.....

I have to agree with TER staff on this. If an escort is working than people have a write to write about her and post reviews. Its nice of them that they give a choice to take down all your reviews if you want to quit. What else can they do...TER is trying to make a living like everyone else.

There is not a provider that doesn't benefit from receiving a good word now and then. It's exactly how they get new business. Without services like TER, many people would not have even ventured into this world. Since the average guy probably only repeats 2 -3 three times then he's off to newer wells how else do the really good ones stay afloat when there is so much BS to wade through? Time is the cruelest denominator. Without a good word, even the most prolific (and best) whores get older and become lost in the crowd. They all need new blood to stay in the game. The electronic age levels the playing field in many ways, for both provider and hobbyist.  

TER is a business first. TER "owns" the materials on these boards. Take the personal politics out of the discussion and they have an absolute right to take this course of action, albeit unpopular since two of its more popular members are not going to be around. So if any of us think attrition is going to be a big issue, I think not. Stay or go away is the right of anyone who posts anything on these boards.

How do we afford 69,632 providers touching us everyday?  A man wants to know!

Losing two providers who wanted their reviews taken down is not a loss.  The reviews make TER what it is.  And let's not kid ourselves ladies, TER is mainly here to serve the hobbiest, not the provider.  If a review is false, report it to the staff.  If they won't remove it, explain that it's false.  Also, post a message on the boards.  Sure, some may not believe you.  But if you're good at what you do, it shouldn't be a problem.

I understand the need to place disincentives in place for removing reviews.  I would think, though, that a long suspension would do the same thing and allow a provider to come back if she sees this market is worth the exposure of reviews.

Always "have your cake and eat it too". After dozens and dozens of reviews, what could so private Emma? Everyone knows almost all the MOST personal details about you. BTW, NetMichelle was de-listed for breaking the 1st commandment (and most egregious sin), on TER by giving going public on the boards with the most personal, private, and sensitive details of another provider's life. Both ladies will be missed, but the rules are the rules. Just my 2 Smelly cents.

Why are they not allowed to return?  I fully understand the approach to link reviews with advertizing.  But what's the logic behind not allowing for temporary shelving of a provider's info?

As much as I like to be sensitive too the various personal challenges the varying providers face in their lives and how the promulgations of the reviews surely have a distinct effect on them I would contend that if Staff were to pull and then later re-post reviews for every provider desiring so the consistency and the viability of this site would be greatly compromised. Furthermore although restricting or banning a provider from further contributing to the discussion boards after having her reviews voluntarily removed at face seems somewhat draconian, again the specter of accountability does come into play.
  I have a very dear friend who was a very highly revered provider with scores of flattering TER reviews who also feels unduly castigated for merely wishing them removed for her own personal reasons. As much as I lament the loss of positive contributions she could be still be making on these boards with her wit, charm and vast expertise I too quietly understand that just as Donald Trump states each week “It’s not personal; It’s business.”

I can understand that you might charge for her posting ads, as a commercial policy, independent of delisting or not.   And I can understand your bans on those established as rip-offs, since ads would be misleading.

But that doesn't seem to be the issue.   I'm reluctant to assume a punitive motive in the absence of specific evidence; but it simply does not make sense to protect a person who does not seek that protection.

IMHO, the TER community depends on flexibility to accomodate different groups with different concerns, as long as they operate in good faith (ie, no slack for ripoffs).  It does seem to me that you may want to re-think the purpose and effect of this policy, especially as Emma seems to be a respected participant.

...they've fouled up my account a time or two, not approved reviews that I've written, not approved Problem Reports that I've submitted, changed my status from unmoderated to moderated, etc.  I know it can be very frustrating dealing with them.  The key is to be patient and figure out where the communication has failed.  Honestly, sometimes I think they like to make us jump through hoops just b/c they can.  Don't let it get you down.  Bottom line though, if you ask to have all your reviews removed then you have to accept their policy.  They give you fair warning.

Is there a way the delisted providers could engage/contribute to the discussion board but not be allowed to post ads or post links to her website?  

In such a case she would not be profiting from posting, just contributing thought.

I saw a wonderful lady last February and posted a review.  She has some significant personal issues in April and asked that her reviews be taken down (and they were).  Now, she is back in the biz and I can't write anything about her return as an "FYI post"?  Ummmm.

Under special circumstances (legal, custodial, etc) we allow return.

Any system that relies on human intervention is flawed.  Considering we managing over 350,000 people a day comming in the site; we don't do too bad, but there is always room to improve.  Ciara, if you are having problems, my  email address is [email protected]

IMO - Staff has a point and Emma may have one.

A Provider should not be allowed to remove reviews yet continue to advertise on TER boards, etc.  This is not in the community's interest.

If Emma wants to participate in discussions, read reviews, etc. but not self-promote her commercial interests, she should be allowed to do so.  Whether Staff agrees or not, this can be accomplished if Emma simply re-joins TER under a new handle (may have to change your IP if staff banned it).

Emma, you are a wonderful contributor to the community, I will miss you if you go away.  but ya' can't have it both ways (remove reviews and still hawk biz - that has been clear from the start).

which I understand she is.  Where she has a well-established & excellent rep, there is no concern for a ripoff.

My suggestion is that providers who (a) have solid reps, (b) pay for VIP, should be permitted to participate, or at least not be prohibited by a blanket policy.

There could be legit reasons a provider could want to withdraw, and I don't think an "all-or-nothing" policy benefits the group.

While I suspect that she would tell me to mind my own beeswax and to "bugger off" in defending her, I would comment to TER - there are many reasons to a lady requesting her postings be removed.  We hobbiests will be able to inform each other of bad times with the ladies who consistently post on TER - OH, and from her reviews and the comments by all - Emma would never have gotten a bad review. just my HO.

If this is the "final decision" of the TER staff, then I sadly will miss Emma a lot.  I looked forward to her posts.  and as I have so often said.... while I am not physically attracted to her, I am mentally more than a little enarmored with her views and thoughts.  I am also very impressed with her command of a wide variety of issues and with her knowledge of the technical details of the subjects that interest her.... she is not a top line gal only!

Emma - this bizzare persons respect you have... and I wish the best for you.  Although I suspect that our paths will never cross, but wish that it were that they would'ave.

I guess it would be tough if we were talking about Ciara (of my home town).  It's not exactly the same, as I am very much physically attracted to her, but it would suck if she went away.

With all due respect to TER's business model, it would sure be nice if some happy middle ground could be found that allowed for "temporary suspension" of a provider along with her reviews.  That would allow for test retirements, stalker protection and the like, while still protecting the hobbyist from some BS bitch yanking reviews as a ploy to trick more guys.  But, I still believe in Santa Claus, so what do I know?  I hear he's bringing me a provider as a present this year...now do you believe in Santa???
