To my Hobby email... It said "Hi.. This is *****.. I haven't seen you in a long time.. I'm in (my small town).. I would love to see you.. Call seven four.. three... and so on.. The number spelled out was a decent give away.. curiosity..
So I called it.. No answer.. Immediately I got a text.. Hey.. This is so and so.. I'm in (a town 45 minutes away).. Hey love to see you.. I replied.. You have the wrong guy... She said.. It's me with the big titties.. Last time you saw me.. you told me you loved me... I said back.. I have no idea who you are.. she said I should find out.... I texted back.. I'm done.. and she texted back.. party pooper.. I then blocked it... WTF? I get how my email may have shown up somewhere.. but how did they know what small town I live in? .. kind of spooky.... wondering if this sort of thing has happened to anyone else..
my spam folder. I figure some of the websites I have visited while hobbying are capturing my email with cookies and selling it to other dating/sex sites. I usually delete without looking in case there's a virus attached.
girls that I thought were independent, but they apparently gave my contact info to a manager or other girls. I get one or two a year via text or email. I respond the same way you do, that is, tell her she has the wrong guy and we've never met. They're not pushy and quickly move on. No worse than the guys calling every day to sell me solar power or some other home improvement I don't need
Maybe hacked of perhaps one of the providers you've seen (or one you've used their website and provided the email there) was hacked an you IP address was exposed -- that allows some fairly accurate geolocation searches.
Might consider changing the email address, or not.
Many of the websites, some even provider websites that we click on that are visited will install malware in your computer giving them your email accounts, location, and other information you may not want to be exposed. I never - ever open any spam in email as this could be a spoof, or a trojan, or malicious malware that could harm your computer and compromise your private information.
