TER General Board

PM to reviewers.

I have a complaint and want to know if others have experienced the same...
There are 2 providers that caught my eye. Each had 2 reviews on TER. Good reviews.
I PMed the reviewers to ask for additional info. In each case, one reviewer NEVER opened their messages...BUT the other two did and just ignored my request...I don't understand this..Each reviewer had multiple reviews posted.
Can someone please enlighten me? Thanks.....

curious how you know they opened it?

A feature where it gives a heads up as to whether or not the user I'm sending PM to can read my PMs.

Only VIP memebrs can use PMs so this would help take out confusion.

First, I want to know - how you know the messages were opened.  Am I missing a feature I don't know about?

If you haven't established some credibility on the boards, you might get ignored a lot.  It helps to post.  Of course, since you used an alias, I don't know what you have or have not done.

They either don't check out TER all the regularly or, they don't have PM as they may not be VIP.

It's unfortunate that TER does not give any way of knowing this when sending a PM.

Also, how do you tell if a PM was opened?

I wouldn't waste my time with non-helpers. I was once a member of another site which stated whether a pm was opened. Knowing this I could enjoy screwing with them a bit if they weren't inclined to help an old man out

Start your PMs with:

"I am looking for some extra information.  I'll pay you $100 if you answer these questions..."

Alternatively, be appreciative for the review they've already written and shut up.  Other reviewers don't work for you.  If you're really so curious, just hire the girl already.

...and remember to pay her for her time.

I sent the message through the email feature..When the e-mail is read by the recipient it changes from bold letters to standard...The unread message remains in bold letters...Sorry if I caused any confusion.

I have found PMs to be a very nice way to get to "meet" a provider whose post or profile has caught my eye.  Most respond and if they don't, I move on.  Over time, I have had  dates with a few of the women that I first met through a PM.

What e-mail feature are you referring to?  I don't know of any way to get someones e-mail address from their review handle.

Please explain further..

the PM he sent someone.

And then HE went in to read the PM he sent to the recipient, and THAT caused the subject line to change from BOLD to regular.

It has NOTHING to do with whether the recipient read the PM.

Its good to know how u r able to check if some1 has opened his e-mail. I would like to know that feature and how to proceed.

Sometimes, the title of the message might not be appropriate. Sometimes, what is in the body might not be appropriate. For example, if u ask specific details that was redundant in the review, the person might chose to ignore it. If u ask something that was too personal, it might make the person uncomfortable. Either way, u may have to be careful of the types of questions u r asking to not throw the other person off.

The other comments were helpful also. But, if they don't reply, then screw them and c some1 else.

I got a fucking job. And to tell you the truth, PMs from ladies take a hell of a lot more precedence over some schlub looking for back channel info on some lady that had the pleasure of being with me.

Just fucking with you, man. I try to answer PMs from guys that ask about ladies I've seen. It might not be in the most timely manner, but I'll get around to it. Shit happens, and some things take priority.

For instance, a nice lady said she'd like to spend an inordinate amount of time with me tomorrow so I have to get my ass off this thing to get the house ready, do the grocery deal, and get properly drunk from now till then.

Have fun, and I hope you find what you're looking for! ;)

1.  They don't know who you are, you have no posted reviews, so they won't respond.
2.  They don't give a shit.
3.  Their reviews are bogus, so they can't answer your questions.

I am more than happy to share info, but will only do so when I get PMs from members who actually have reviews and contribute to the community.   I also expect some reciprocity.

If you don't write reviews or contribute, I won't respond, and if you ask some dumb ass questions I won't respond either.

data.  They may feel it's too personal.  They do NOT know you.  They might not wish to reveal more info which might put the lady at risk...  outing, LE, etc.  There's no way to know who is PMing them.
Some guys only hobby intermittantly...  vacations or business trips.  Finally, a lot of guys do not keep VIP all the time...  I only do when I'm shopping.

"everything contained here is fiction and is for your entertainment and amusement only"

Perhaps the reviewers would not care to imply the review was anything but fiction by discussing it with someone they do not know?

We already are posting under made up names. Only the Admins of TER know our names and cities, unless we chose to give that information to others. When I get a PM asking for information, I check activity by the user, either post history or review history before replying to the PM. If the person posts under an alias and I can't attach the alias to the user that PMed me, I delete the PM and don't reply. I want to get a measure of the person that I may be giving information about a provider to, I don't want to send someone into a lady's presence who may be an insensitive jerk. No surprise, how people write say a lot about what they are as people.
