I can see what you are saying. Again, I think that is what regional boards are for, though. Everyone seems to find it tacky and needy if done on the GD, so be happy it stays off of here for the most part. There  have been a lot of complaints about hijacking threads with the back and forth banter, so I've backed off a bit. I do actually care about what some people think, and it does get annoying when every thread turns into a flirt fest or boy's club.

I think there is a difference between "taking up for your bros/hos," and outright ass kissing and shilling. Many of you here are like my extended family, so when some random envelope comes on and talks shit, it is only natural that you want to take up for the same people you talk to on a daily basis. For many of us, TER is not the only time we interact with each other, but also via email and phone.

If ass kissing on here gets you a discount, I guess I will never know, nor will the guys who see me. I've never granted special treatment based on what a guy says about me, or if he takes up for me. I'm a big girl.

The type that irks you, and I is the one that sucks up, with nothing to back it up....... " Egotistical Blow Hards" they can't stop talking about themselves........need it to boost their "EGO".  These folks are as annoying as hell, but to each his own.....

The other are the friendly type, being considerate and just making a personal connection, nothing else.  Usually these folks are more interested in the other person's well being.  This I find is "The Essence" of being Personable, and Respectful.  
It'd be cool if more of us were this way.

Never heard the term before, but I get what you mean after reading the post.  I was the same as you in school, but can recall many many times when other students attempted such behaviors.  You even reminded me of something my sister told me once.  She had some friends in a few of her university classes, one of them was a well off Russian girl I believe.  This girl was actually buying gifts for her professors before exams and major grades.  According to her, this was actually standard practice where she was from.

I think I usually try to be reasonable when it comes to this type of behavior.  I've come across two girls recently that are just absolute beauties.  One of them is actually the provider I've been trying to book.  (Looks like I have to wait till she's back in town ).  Anyway, I've told both of them that I think they're absolutely gorgeous.  I just think it's a kind thing to do, and girls can always use a compliment once in a while.  They always seem to be more stressed out about things than guys are.  For me, to compliment them on their looks was never about seeking favors or anything.  Hoping to put a smile on their face more than anything

Of course, it's not to say I haven't done ANY ass kissing myself.  I'm a webmaster currently specializing with adult themed websites, and I have done a fair bit of promotional work for a certain porn studio.  I loved their girls, big fan of the content they produced, things were good.  Of course, they received and still get a fair bit of negative comments on their forum and other places.  I always tried to be reasonable when defending them, but obviously due to the fact that I am operating a website promoting their material, I'm always hesitant to post in a certain way.  I try not to be too biased, but sometimes it was hard to help myself and I would engage in a bit of ass kissing or over defending some of their mistakes.

Never got a chance to do one of my  teachers in school but I did drool over a couple of them, especially my sixth grade math teacher  . She was hot and divorced .
We called guys that were  teacher ass kissers , brown nosers  . Some of them were flagrant  .
 
 When the basketball coach tried  to recruit me for his team I told him I didn't need to play
basketball to pass his class ,  like his brown nose dribbling boys .  
He hated me after that , I still passed , barely .

  It doesn't bother me how guys reply to ad posts . I don't read them if I don't want to .
Do you become irritated when walking in the library because of all the books that don't interest you ?
Take a clue from me , keep it simple and care free when you can , skip whatever and  whoever  bores or irritates you the most  .  

  If I see a ad post photo from a provider I've never seen , and her photo  stimulates my eyes and libido much more than usual   , I sometimes  send her one complimentary PM .
 It's rare , maybe two or three a year , but that's me , if someone else does things differently I don't care.

 I recently sent a  provider a compliment by PM  on her backside ad photo .
If she received  a hundred compliments on the board , in my opinion she deserved them all , but I wouldn't spend my time reading them all , especially if it irked me .

If someone wants to say something in PRIVATE message, why announce it in PUBLIC?

I personally dislike brown-nosers & the like. It's dishonest & deceitful. Usually that person has an agenda and will con their way...instead of deserving the job position or support or whatever it is the schmoozer is after, he or she is rewarded for his/her ability to spin/flatter/lie/cheat those people in the path toward the goal/prize. It's really awful when the deceiver/low life ass kisser destroys people in & on their way.

Evidence is everywhere. I've always believed I should earn my rewards even if others don't have to. And one doesn't have to lie to pay a compliment to someone (the "mark" could be Gollum & I could honestly say, "I admire your persistence" -but you cannot have the ring I'm thinking lol) but what separates flattery from schmoozing is intent & truth.

Schmoozers lie & deceive and often try to cheat their way to their goal. They often leave a path of broken people in their wake, who realize how they helped the schmoozer get "one up". By then , it's usually too late. The brown noser has triumphed.

Competent people tend to "rest on their laurels" and flatter as a social grace if necessary, but don't lie, cheat, deceive or destroy to accomplish their goals. Their actions show they're deserving (of promotion, position, etc. ). Often overlooked, perhaps, buts that's because the one(s) who make the decisions usually prefer bullshit to bluntness (or are nincompoops themselves). But that's another story

I hate schmoozers, butt kissers, politically correct douche bags, and the like.
The worst part about these types, is that they think if they schmooze louder and more frequently they will become more believable. Wrong.
It is like the 10/10 review crowd. Eventually any reasonable guy looking at her reviews begins asking the question, 'is this woman really perfect, as her minions would have me believe, or is there some serious BS going on?'.  I have meet very few perfect women, and none were in the hobby. So I look at such scenarios as bullshit.
I saw a post recently stating a girl was using some well known fashion model's pictures in her ads. Some douche had the nerve to state that he found it hard to believe cause he has seen her and she's beautiful. What? Yeh, keep schmoozing louder and more frequently, maybe she'll turn into that model because you think she should.
Sorry to have candy coated my opinion.
