If I can't determine the rate pretty damn easily up front, I really am disinclined to call. It seems disingenuous on the part of the provider to complain about guys that haggle, when unpublished rates open the door for just that - from both parties. Guys worry about upseller providers and gals worry about the "bargain hunter" guys.
In some places on my site I say that. Like where I have my doubles info, I put the hour rate and let those who'd like longer sessions inquire. I never upsell.
On ads that say donation starts at.. doesn't necessarily mean upsell. Providers might have different rates depending on incall vs outcall,home base vs touring,maybe they have a social rate only/dinner date rate.Maybe they have different rates for multi-hr appts. If a provider is well-reviewed and the reviews do not state she is an upsell I wouldn't correlate donations start at..with being an upsell.Now if it is a provider who has no reviews I can understand you being hesitant to contact.
For instance, if a lady has 12 different rates, she is not going to list all of them in the ad. She might just list an hour or two, and then guys know to go to the wesbsite for more info. Not always a sinister thing, but I never take ads that seriously lol.

If you look at my website everything is spelled out in black and white. I dont discuss anything over the phone/text/email either. And even when I do put up a FULL rate breakdown on my ad people STILL CALL and say, "Ummm whats your rate again?" Only for me to tell them my website address.
I think being uppity about the wording one chooses, is kind of silly. BUT I guess with as many providers there are out there you have to have a little process of narrowing them down when your flipping through ads. And whatever is the easiest, simplest way is probably the fastest way.
I used to know someone who refused to put her rates up ANYWHERE because her theory was, "If I dont put my rates up, I'll get more callers inquiring and I can tell them my rates on the phone." I always tried to explain to her it was better not to talk about it.... But then again she wasn't the sharpest crayon in the box, and she isn't providing anymore and didn't last long. So yeah. There goes her ideas.
