Play safe and play nice

I'm glad to see that there isn't a rash of providers reporting having been busted. However, I am interested to hear of any experiences for the sake of everyone's education.

I'm somewhat surprised that there haven't been more stories on the boards on this topic. All the "busted" stories are like, "I heard about someone who knew a gal", or at best, "my friend was busted."

Perhaps TER subscribers are just too smart.

Everybody play safe and play nice,

I am more in fear of being busted, as it could ruin a career I've been working towards for more than five years, than I am of being beaten up.  If you have been busted, would you be willing to describe your experience, as a learning tool for the rest of us?  I hope that this question isn't inappropriate.  If so, my apologies... Love, Anne

No, I haven't... but everything I've heard from those who have, is... SCREEN SCREEN SCREEN!  Also, do NOT accept appt's with less than 24 hours notice (from a new client). Altho we are not doing anything illegal, cops can, will, and DO lie about it and it is their word against yours.

I was wondering if anyone would respond, but am not surprised at the deafening silence.
Every bust is a horrible life demolishing experience in its own way.
Newspaper searches and state/fed statistics enumerate a few thousand busts each year.

I would certainly get on this board as soon as possible and share the experience, any knowledge or wisdom gathered from it, no matter how seemingly insignificant. I would know that it would be valuable to others. I would want to turn the negative into a positive, if even infinitesimally.

I would do the same, heaven forfend that any of us get busted.  Yet, I understand that some people are prohibited from doing so, per judge's orders. Ugh.  Beautiful day here, ugly thoughts... Love, Anne

I have been busted and my attorney gave me some
tips and advice that I wish I could share with
everyone, but I am afraid of posting them, since
that would negate their effectiveness when LE
read them and changed their tactics accordingly.
I am also afraid of calling attention to myself
with LE by posting.
Lately I have been wondering if providers would
be interested in networking or forming a club or
having what I think of as a "gentlemens club or party"
where we would get together and invite our favorite
clients and introduce them to the other girls who
would be there.  Then work our way down through the
list to our least favorite, but who knows, another
girl might consider them her fav. I know that I have
enough clients (that I have seen and can vouch for) to keep another girl in business for
several months. I have tried referring clients to
other girls in exchange for the same, but so far it
has turned out to be a losing proposition for me,
especially in terms of time.
I'm in San Diego so maybe I should be posting there.
Have been thinking of changing cities till after
elections, but have no idea of where to go.

Debbie Moon's story indicated that when she was busted, not only had nothing sexual occurred betweeen herself and the cop, but also that no money had exchanged hands, and they had not even talkd about "services."  All she'd done was show up and give him a backrub.  Clearly, her screening had not worked...

Anyway, she did not say whether or not the bust was audio- or videotaped.  It seems to me that had the session been taped, any judge would _have_ to dismiss the charges; after all, giving backrubs isn't illegal, even in my conservative corner of the world.  If the session had not been taped, then it's her word against his... and I would assume that any vice cop (who, by definition is going to have fucked up morals) would lie under oath regarding what actually happened.

So... what about providers hiding a mini-cassette recorder and taping the first half hour of every session?  This could give providers at least a little security.

The downside of this is obviously that it really is an invasion of privacy for the client, but at least his/her face wouldn't be recorded.  Is this a totally boneheaded idea?

Okay, going to help some friends move today.
Love to all.
Anne

The Debbie Moon situation was surely not videorecorded, but the cops may have done audio for their cue-signal to come in, or the cop had a transmitter he used in the bathroom.
Of course the cops lie! Duh. That's a given. They may snip the audio to use only the parts that help them.
Her cop will have a pat story, and she cannot take the stand to challenge it without being cross-examined about her escort biz in general. It's not her word against his. It's his word alone usually along with a full profile of Debbie Moon's activities that month, meeting many total strangers for companionship and more. The cops may have all of their license plates, your e-mails and phone records, credit card records, whatever it takes.
Your idea of a concealed audiorecorder strikes me as very clever.
Just do not erase it until  long after you are safe. Remember that cops sometime do you, go out, and return with backup, so don't erase immediately.
Perhaps you can express your useful tips in a way that LE cannot counter them, to help others all across the US.
From what I hear, SD and OC are archconservative like Virginia, and it makes sense to move to Santa Monica or West Hollywood where LE are much less of a problem.
Use a few tapes.
Several times in my past other life as a defense lawyer, I caught cops - including FBI - just making up a pat story.
Judges usually dismiss the charges right there on the spot out of disgust at the LE lies.
Your tape can be effective cross examination after your lawyer sets up the cop to tell his invented version of the first 30 minutes.

Arrest is one part of the equation, conviction is something different. There was obviously audio on the LE. His cohorts broke in on an audio cue.

An audio or video recording is the only reliable evidence if law enforcement expects a conviction. I don't know about SF, but Alameda and Santa Clara DA's won't even try a case like this without a recording.

LE, on the other hand, needs arrests more than they need convictions. They'll try various scams to produce arrests and acquire confessions in an attempt to punish without due process, generate revenues and justify their existence for whatever political reasons.

Miss Moon may have said something that LE thought they could use in court. Also, technically it is illegal to give someone a massage for money, without a license.

Creating your own recording would only be useful as a back-up and complete record if you were ever busted. The court would likely be looking at a single case instance where you wouldn't want to introduce evidence of other clients.

Language may not resist an arrest, but is certainly the best defense against a conviction. Never discuss money or sex. Providers and gentlemen should talk like their old friends, say things that would sound like you know each other and justify your meeting.
