I am also looking into one that doesn’t end in .com or .net or .org since clearly those are not what we want since they are US owned.
I found one last night but uncertain if it’s any good. Any ladies from overseas that can direct us in the direction they go for webpages would be very appreciated. Just looking for a helpful answer at this point. Thank you all!

Hey everyone, I currently have my site set up on wix.com
I’ve sanitized it quite a bit but have a feeling that eventually wix will take it down no matter how vague it may seem. Anyone using or know of a good web hosting that’s housed off shore and hence less likely to be susceptible to FOSTA?

WWII artillery platform in the North Sea.  Is that "off-shore" enough?

I used ecowebhosting (which is based in the UK) for a small personal project a couple of years ago. Not sure if they have restrictions in their terms of service, but it was fast enough and cheap. I'm sure there are some others who can chime in who have more knowledge in this area.

Again, terms of service would need to be checked but another option could be setting up a wordpress site on an AWS instance at any of their offshore regions. I'd VPN in from somewhere else every time I made updates just so the host can't use the excuse of admin-like activity coming from the US and call it a US site.

Good looking site, btw. I'm not the most knowledgeable on web design, but I'm hoping you can port or migrate your current work on Wix to where ever you end up.

Best of luck!

There isn't much out there like wix or squarespace that doesn't also operate in the US, because they're so turnkey and the US market for that is huge.

Your best bet is to find someplace that you can get a basic shared hosting plan, then install wordpress (hopefully through c-panel) and go from there. Here are some ideas.

http://www.orangewebsite.com - Icelandic host with shared hosting. Pretty cheap.

http://www.1984.is - Another Icelandic host, more privacy focused, also reasonable

http://getlark.com - Polish host, mostly VPS offerings but very, very cheap and probably the most secure. You'll need a web guy to get the server running and to install cpanel and wordpress. After that it'll be more or less the same as above, just faster and slightly more secure.

Once you have wordpress working, you can install your choice of theme and go from there. I'd suggest something simple as wordpress sites tend to get hard to maintain once you have a ton of modules loaded.

Offshore server. Managed word press installed. Own & operated by a well known provider. 3mos/50.

Try ExcelNode.

They're off shore and easy to work with and the user CP panel etc are very resourceful and good.
And support responds in a quick timely fashion and are helpful.

If you have a domain. You can transfer the domain. And they do that very quickly.
But keep in mind, you will need to rebuild your site on ExcelNode platform.  Before you transfer your domain.
As your site is on wix platform.

Need any further help.

In my research it is my understanding

.com is under the jurisdiction of US Law,  no matter what country it is originated in.

Also, look for a webhost that will not comply with a DMCA and hand over site/info back to the US.

In addition, when looking for a webhost the tos is important because although they may be offshore they may not allow adult content and your site can be removed at any time.

After reading countless webhost reviews and internet legalities there is much to be considered in choosing a host.

Stay safe!

....now back to my tanning in sunny Arizona where it's over 100 degrees today!
