Three different locations of Panera Bread implemented a "pay what you can" policy. The idea was to help those who might be a little short or unable to pay. Any extra proceeds (after covering all costs) go to jobs and training programs - which hopefully was meant to inspire people to give more when they could.
So turns out the locations regularly received more money than they would have if they would have charged individuals for their food.
Now I know this would probably never in the escorting biz, but I wonder...How would that work? Hmmmm...
having a fixed hourly rate weeds out clientele that may not be desirable in more than one sense. once the gentleman can afford the rate you wind up with people at least have social skills sufficient to be able to afford that luxury. now they may still be undesirable in some way (e.g. competitive, jealous, or intrusive clients who will make requests outside the bounds that you establish). but at least there may be a better chance of being able to deal with them.
in the biz there is already a place for a "pay what you can" policy and it is a very risky place: it is on the sidewalks and under street lamps. negotiating is common there i can only imagine.
i can't recall exactly the reference now.... but it seems that there was an ancient custom of women providing in temples. travelers made an offering (pay as you can) and were granted access to the ladies associated with that temple. there was more infrastructure for safety and security.
as to how a fine independent lady would implement such a policy..... i haven't a clue. I think the fixed rate serves a screening function.
There's a lady in my area that I find immensely appealing, but her rate is far above my mark for her services. I patiently wait for her half off sale. In the meantime, I shop elsewhere. The only difference from the Panera example is that I'm consuming someone else's brand. I figure that if she wanted to see me at my price, she would have contacted me with an offer by now. It's not like she doesn't know who I am.

As i typed my heading there i realised most of you won't understand what i mean by 'wee' but that would be the scottish in me comingg out now slowly but surely and also that my spelling may well be different to alot of you but i've been in the UK a longggggggg time so excuse my iignorance.
I enjoyed this post reading everybodys views and I think that the only thing that would put me off trying the experiment is the clientellt issue. I have a high standard as im sure gents have when they arrange to meet me and i might be letting the unwanted back in by not declaring a set price but hopefully everybody would pay what i know im worth LOL........ As they say in the Loreal adverts "Because im worth it" HAHA
