END OF MESSAGE

The morning was so grey that even my coffee tasted like it had already been drunk once and reheated out of spite. The mist hung over the yard as if someone had forgotten to turn off a smoke machine, and the scent of birch wasn’t fresh at all… more like suspicious. I stepped outside for a cigarette and could’ve sworn I saw a shadow move. Nothing dramatic, more the kind of movement you see when you’ve been awake far too many hours. Then I heard it, a branch snapping. Not loud, just enough to let me know something or someone  was out there. For a moment I hoped it was the neighbour. But since the neighbour is scarier than anything the forest could produce, I decided not to look.

It was a dark and stormy night.

"With a curvaceous figure that Venus would have envied, a tanned unblemished oval face framed with lustrous thick brown hair, deep azure-blue eyes fringed with long black lashes, perfect teeth that vied for competition, and a small straight nose, Marilee had a beauty that defied description." A number of them are actually kind of on topic for this forum. Like the winner from 2005:

“As he stared at her ample bosom, he daydreamed of the dual Stromberg carburetors in his vintage Triumph Spitfire, highly functional yet pleasingly formed, perched prominently on top of the intake manifold, aching for experienced hands, the small knurled caps of the oil dampeners begging to be inspected and adjusted as described in chapter seven of the shop manual.”
