Over dramatized fluff....

In that genre', Dangerous Beauty is a favorite, although historically inaccurate and "The Owl and the Pussycat" is my fav comedy.

But any day of the week give me "Band of Brothers", "Glory", "A Beautiful Mind" or "Pale Rider" and I am a happy girl. Not much of a chick flick kind of chick. *smiles*

Is the movie "Pretty Woman" your favorite flick?  I am curious.  Please comment.  Thanks.

No, because it's lightweight nonsense. And I don't dream of meeting a rich man who'll look after me financially.  I want to continue doing that for myself :)

Pretty Woman is romantic claptrap .... I can't stand the flick.

agreed....Pretty Woman sucks.  I hated that movie long before and now it really gets on my nerves!

that I've mentioned before and one of them I didn't think anybody would remember! LOL "The Owl and the Pussycat" - really must rent that some time! I'm glad you know it! Great minds think alike..

Luv ya!

CelticLass,

Great list of movies! All my favorites too! I haven't met a women yet who really enjoys "Band of Brothers" and "Pale Rider". Awesome! Say, I may be coming out to Vegas pretty soon. I heard you're retired? Maybe we should get together if you're still providing...

Celtic Lass has mentioned a couple of other films in the genre.  Any others you'd like to comment on?

In spite of the considerate responses given by some kind-hearted providers to this thread, I cannot help but think that the question is a sideways slam.

Wondering whether "Pretty Woman" is "your favorite flick" to all the "gals" on TER is like asking all the guys on here if it (or "LA Confidential") is the guys "favorite flick" because it depicts the "good guy" romantically going off with the escort "with the heart of gold" at the end.  It is insulting by implication that an entire group as diverse as our ladies are (as anyone who who reads the posts on here knows) would like a movie en masse simply because of its subject matter...and that is aside from that fact that the movie is at best (as several tasteful providers correctly noted here) "shmaltzy fluff claptrap", and dangerous fantasizing at worst.

Maybe I am totally off the mark here and being jaded, and if this is the case, I apologize.  I just can't see someone being naive enough to ask this question seriously, and if it wasn't meant seriously, then it would have to be a generalized slam...kind of like wondering whether "you gals" wear stiletto heeled shoes around the house while cleaning because...you know...because some escorts wear stilettos.

Again, I may be wrong...

We are also wives, mothers, students, sisters, daughters - PEOPLE. We are not defined by what we do. Why should "Pretty Women" be our favorite movie?

I'm a plumber - and my favourite film is 'Super Mario brothers'

I couldn't stand her or this movie when it came out.  It (and she) was hyped to death.

But my buddy Rollo Tomasi and I watched it last night.

My company for sales training always shows the scene where she tries to buy a dress in beverly Hills, and the sales girls kick her out of the store.

I watched it a little differently this time - She only charged $300 for an overnighter!

Harmless fluff.  Pygmalion with sex.

Now "Deuce Bigelow Male Gigolo" was funny.  Harmless- along the lines of "There's something about Mary".

I think Fohead just worded the question badly off the top of his head.  In a previous "favorite movie" topic question, one poster said he had a list of 15 movies that were his favorites and his wife never caught on to the fact that there were providers in all of them.

In one of James Colburn's earlier films he plays someone who goes into a French hotel and mistakes a woman guest for a provider.  They end up in his room.  She is preparing to go down on him and he utters the classic "You don't need to do that.  I'm an American.".

Perhaps we have all become a bit more continental...

No hollywood streetwalkers are even close to the Julia Roberts standard. Some of them have missing teeth. The movie is bullshit, but a good fantasy.

My two favorite movies concerning whoring are Duece Bigilow Male Gigilo, hilarious and American Pimp.
