I know we talked about HIV here and there on this forum.

So I'll get straight to the point.
Probably most of us had a condom break on us at least once in our life time.
I recall last year I had that happen to me, and I was terrified for first 4 weeks until I took
the HIV test and if was Negative.  I know the gal that was with was also in distress as well.
We both reassured each other that we were clean but still the stress was there.

Luckily with today's modern science there are tests you can buy for HIV detection,
there is one for example called OraQuick that I have used few times and is simple and easy to use.

So my question to you guys is , what do you think , is it a good idea as a precaution only to
have two of them tests with you at every session just in case a condom brakes.
Even if one partners test comes back positive for HIV you would have a fighting chance to go to your doctor and ask for PEP ( post exposure prophylaxis ). If you only hope for the best and wait two or three weeks to get tested , it may be too late .

I know chances of infection with HIV are not that great , but they are real , and although
HIV is no longer a death sentence , nobody would be crazy enough to want to take a chance.

Do you guys think Providers and Johns should have them in their back pocket perhaps
incase the unexpected happens ? And I am not calling for testing prior to every encounter
cause it would defiantly be quite awkward for both parties.

Is it a good idea ? Or an overkill ?

Id like to hear your reaction

Do you wear a rubber suit when you walk to your car in a lightning storm?

Yeah, I'd say it is overkill. Just a tad.

The risk of HIV transmission from unprotected penile/vaginal sex when the HIV status of both are unknown is very, very remote to begin with, but then add in your broken condom scenario and well...lets just say it is close to nil.

The odds are proly much greater that you will die in a car crash on your way to see the girl than getting HIV.

So wear the bike helmet (on the big head) if you must, but leave the nifty 007 HIV Detector Kit at home.

And just what is wrong with wearing a bike helmet when driving a car?

I'll let mrfissure wear that rubber suit however...don't tell anyone but he wears it when he is sploshing.

Did you consider that the OP may have gotten the 007 HIV Detector Kit for Christmas?  And just can't wait to try it out.  Or he got herpes as a gift?

there is also a pill you can take which prevents you from ever getting HIV. You have to be on it for a month ahead and take it every day.

TRUVADA is a prescription medicine that can be used to help reduce the risk of getting HIV-1 infection when used together with safer sex practices. This use is only for adults who are at high risk of getting HIV-1 through sex. This includes HIV-negative men who have sex with men and who are at high risk of getting infected with HIV-1 through sex, and male-female sex partners when one partner has HIV-1 infection and the other does not.

instead of carrying HIV testers, after you have sex, just carry an old-fashioned straight razor and carefully shave off the top two layers of skin from the head of your dick.  You will probably only need to do this once, and you will be protected the rest of your life.  Some guys that are experienced with a straight razor and know how to do this really well might need to do it two or three times before they're protected.

Plenty of folks don't use condoms...to each their own.

Do you also make sure that you thoroughly disinfect that public toilet seat?

To tell you the truth...I try and avoid having to use a public rest room  LOL

3 woods (driver/3/5, but I'd go driver/3/7 on my old local course), 3-9 iron, 3 wedges and a putter. Never understood the need or purpose for all those long irons and those weird hybrid rescue club things that took the place of the long iron for some people, used one of them for a couple of rounds (get to know your shop pro, people) and it seemed like a great way to make your wallet lighter for no reason.

Wait, what board is this? Sorry, go about your business.

I drank only beer out of a bottle that I opened personally and I wouldn't even take a piss in the "bano" as I was scared about something swimming up "my stream" and giving me some horrible and incurable illness.

Needless to say, I didn't have any sex there either.

The one and even the two are too difficult to hit by most amateurs. No need for either to be in your bag. More lofted clubs are much more accurate anyway and that is more effective in the long run for the weekly duffers.

Don't listen to Dr Who. Unless there is a windmill involved, he loses interest. LOL

When I bought my last set of irons I bought them 1-PW, I own three wedges and I have a driver, 2 and 4 wood. I "might" consider a seven wood someday when I get "older" lol  I mix and match which clubs I am going to carry partly depending on the course I am playing and partly depending on whether I am hitting my long irons better or my fairway woods.  I often find myself using a two iron off the tee on par fours of 400 yards or less.

My one iron is probably the club I leave out of my bag the most often as I have never been able to properly turn a ball over with that club. A two iron is MUCH easier to hit and the yardage I give up is minimal. I know some younger guys who knock the shit out of a 1 iron though, easily hitting it over 300 yards.

as for those "hybrid, rescue club things" Don't own one, don't want one.

I did start dating a Korean hooker a while back and we played golf together quite often. NO that's not really relevant to my post, but it "sort of" keeps it on topic.

Sometimes, I think it's a better bet to chip over the windmill than to try to go through the opening at the bottom.

At the 18th hole, I pretend the clown is an escort in clown makeup and I try to pop right in her mouth.

I've been thinking about filming professional porn, instead of my 18+ amateur videos, so I spoke with my primary care doctor, my gynecologist, and the doctor at the Woman's Health Care Clinic (where they test for HIV). They mentioned TRUVADA, but you'd better hope your insurance covers it, because it's VERY expensive. Also, it has a high risk of causing liver damage, so...if you're prescribed TRUVADA, there is a mandatory liver blood test every 3 months. For now, I passed on the professional porn idea, and instead am going to film 18+ amateur boy/girl videos with my 18 year old fuck buddy (because we are both tested monthly, and we don't 'full service' fuck other people without a condom).

Thank goodness there is the option of taking TRUVADA, but IMHO, I'd ONLY take it if you are at high risk of contracting HIV.

It only takes 4 weeks for HIV to show up in a person's body in the U.S.?

Wow. It takes about 3 months to be sure that a negative test result is still actually negative for hiv here in Canada.

There are a bunch of different tests with different sensitivity and selectivity and reliability. They can sample different fluids or tissues (blood, saliva, ...). The more sensitive tests can detect virus at lower levels, which usually means sooner after exposure.

I'll guess that the standard test approved for use by the Canadian Health service is less sensitive and isn't reliable until after around 3 months of viral proliferation. I will also guess that a patient might be able to request or pay for a different test that is more sensitive for reliable use before 3 months have elapsed.

I read that viral loads are lower at say the one month mark and can result in a 'negative' reading. But that they should be high enough at three months...so a negative reading at one month doesn't guarantee a HIV-free status.

So that fits with your test quality but even a San Franciso health site says 4-6 weeks and up to 3 months. So with that why would anyone be content with a negative result after one month and then never give it another thought?

I remember it used be 6 months to wait for a accurate result so 3 months is definitely better..but still
I mean the U.S. was able to get test results in as little as 24 hrs (??) when in Canada we had to wait 2 weeks for the results. I always thought that was because you all had to pay, and we are all covered...always means standing in line. But now we can get results before the day is out (at the free clinic) So that to me means we have the same tests available and used..because the free clinics don't get special treatment, they are usually not as 'funded' as other arms of the health care system.

Also usually tests are manufactured by the same company and distributed. Why would canada get the no-name (generic) brand of tests for hiv when (I haven't researched this but ..) there is usually only one maker/manufacturer of these kinds of tests? Well i think it's something to think about for sure.

Rapid test take 15-20 minutes they are quite useful , although
As not as accurate as RNA test ,
Rapid test usually will give you pretty good idea
If you are infected or not between 3-5 weeks after exposure .

There are different kinds of rapid tests available some use a blood
Sample and others use saliva , both supposedly are fairly accurate.

And btw , I like to fuck a lot so I get tested every 3-4 months so yes
Im still negative :

and I wanted to see them all. Besides, I had never been in a "seven dollar" whore house before. Well not since the 1970's that is. lol

Believe it or not, once you got up to about the $15 level there were some real hotties, and one of my favorite places I found there was a place called the "latitude zero" was only $25, and was filled with women who could easily be getting $500 hr here in the states.

As for the seven dollar place, well you can't win them all, but I never would have known if I didn't try.

Kinda off topic, but actually, there was an Australian study looking at the (non)-effectiveness of their bicycle helmet law which found that a helmet law for motorists or pedestrians would be more effective at reducing injuries. So what I always reply to people who tell me I should wear a bicycle helmet is that I'll start wearing one when they start wearing a helmet when driving/walking. Invariably shuts them up.
