I don't like the idea of having another phone. Kind of a suspicious piece of hardware. What if it was discovered?

I don't know any providers who gives you her address.  Typically you arrive at a call point, you call, she gives you instructions, room number, etc.  So now your REAL phone has these calls on it to be found.  Most of the set up can be done over email...  One only needs to get the hobby phone out of hiding for the time of the meeting, after which, clear the call log, shut it off & put it away.

Get a hobby phone love...Keep it turned off in your glovebox or under your seat..just use it when you hobby.(15 bucks walmart and all you need is a zip code to activate..It even comes with free minutes)..I dont think telling a lady you will need to use a payphone from her checkpoint will work love..

I use Google Voice for my normal phone. It's pretty simple - they give you a phone number and voicemail and a bunch of other features that you won't use if it's a hobby line. Voicemail gets transcribed (automatically, of course) and can be sent to your email if you want. You can only call out from a computer, but you can get calls in on that number if you connect it to a normal phone. That setup can be turned on and off, but I wouldn't risk forgetting with a hobby line.

If you have a mic and headset, this is a decent way to set up a hobby line. Just make sure to create a new Google account, don't use your current one.

Store the SIM card away from the phone.  If the phone is ever found, it will not work.  Also easy to explain as an old phone that no longer works and you have forgotten to take to recycling.  

right on through the date. No phone number given out at all. Both of those were strictly outgirl girls though, so it was a matter of the client emailing them the address, not the other way around. That would be harder with incall girls to give out the room number last minute via email. But it would be possible since most folks have smart phones now.

Anyway, I am not disagreeing with your post HV, and hobby phones are a good idea and recommended for most folks. Also agree that most ladies even if they are email only, will use the phone at the last minute for room number info. The cases I mentioned were obviously exceptions and not the rule, but I just was pointing out that it does exist.

It can be tied to any email account, and a fake name, but if you want it to work on your smart phone, you will have to give them your phone number. (which probably could be traced back to you if someone really really wanted to)

I was one that never used a hobby phone. I always advise on the newbie board for people to get  a hobby phone, but I never did get one myself. Since I am single, and self employed, I dont really have worries aobut the shit hitting the fan if I am "outed." so I never really worried about a hobby phone or giving out my real number to ladies. Also I have been hobbying since the days when we gave out our real landline numbers. LOL However after rading about some bsc providers, and after getting some group texts from providers, I decided maybe its time for a hobby phone, but decided to just get google voice instead.

It works fine. I use it now for meeting new ladies, but all my old regulars have my real number. Anyway, I can send and receive texts, and send and receive calls. The google voice number is what will show up on their caller ID. I dont need to carry two phones. It is tied to a hobby gmail account. You can turn off the alerts so you dont get a google voice call or test unless you sign into google voice, or you can leave it on, and calls and texts will come thorugh like regular calls and texts, but you will know it is coming form the google voice number.

I have an android phone, and I can use google voice for outbound calls.  You just need the google voice app, that's all.

But that's only important for the paranoid.

Line2 is similar to google voice but doesn't have to be associated to your cell number the way google voice has to be in order for it to be fully functional. It does cost $10 per month and for $15 per month you can use it on your computer as well. So it is not free. But it is also not a price that should make any difference.

All I did was use my last phone number which was not a contract, and then cancelled it. Now, I have google voice with gmail plug in. You can ONLY make calls from your PC this way, though...no phone needed. You can answer calls simply by opening your gmail window on the account that has the plug in downloaded.

Yes this way works fine. As you pointed out you still have to associate a valid number but nothing stops you from canceling that number after you do. Most guys though are not looking for a PC solution.  They are looking for a mobile solution. If you want Google voice on your cell it has to be associated with it. If you want a mobile solution that doesn't require this there is Line2.

Meh. Google is extremely well known for automating any and every system possible, to the point where they don't even have phone-in support for their Nexus devices (phones and tablets). Google ever going through this data and using it in a way where a real human sees it is as likely as them using the data collected by their tracking cookies, or email conversations, or a million other pieces of data they have on you that you didn't know about.

Oh, you didn't realize they already know that you visit TER, and datecheck, and P411, and backpage, and literally every other website you visit, now did you?

Before you think "Goolge = evil" because of this, I'm just going to point out that this kind of information collection is the norm, not the exception. Any large internet-based organization has the same information, including Microsoft, Facebook, Yahoo, and a thousand others.
