That's all well and good and the reviews section accomplishes it's goal better than any other escort site in my opinion.
The message boards however are another matter entirely. You can post anything you want and call it a "mission statement" but it is the administrators and moderators of TER themselves who allow and encourage participation of a more general nature on this board and others. It is THEIR decision to allow the boards to go in the direction that they have gone in. There are DOZENS of threads every month that, by your definition, could and should be deleted by staff. There are aliases that could be flipped, and posters that could be banned for some of the insidious hateful crap that gets posted here but it doesn't happen By the way, I'm not saying it's right or wrong. I'm not even saying that I like it or don't. It just is what it is.
Why have so many either forgotten the reason for TER's being or can't grasp it ? It's very simple.
TER was started as a HOBBYIST's site whose sole purpose was/is to Rate, Review, Critique & Discuss "Providers". The site was created to keep HOBBYIST's from getting ripped off.
Seems to many that TER has lost it's way in what we are all here for, and priorities have gotten skewed as honest discussions/opinions about the hobby & providers get pulled, censored, sanitized, and silenced.
Keep in mind what TER is all about.
(The poster is NOT a member of the TER administration.)
It seems to me that it doesn't really matter what the original founding of TER was all about. Things change and the owners of TER certainly can run their site in whatever direction and manner they choose. Those who don't like it can simply move on or start their own site more to their liking.
Having said that, my observation with regard to TER is that its focus has become more about promoting participation by providers and less about hobbyists. I really don't know why, but it seems this way to me. On nearly all the boards, negative stuff about providers, particularly when it's an ad posting are frequently, but not always, pulled. There is even a published policy somewhere about negative comments posted in response to an ad.
If the focus of ter was strictly as you state, then we would be able to post reviews for ncns, more scrutiny about fake reviews, etc... Heck I'm no expert, but even I can see the correlation of reviews pop up and all of a sudden the common ad websites suddenly show up with ads for the recently appearing reviews.
That was not an insult.
Most regional boards have turned into ad boards with little discussion happening by percentage anyway.
Maybe an Ad Board is in order eh? lol
No one has to tell us to participate in discussions. We enjoy speaking our minds. LOL
Why should we, or anyone be subjected to negativity and attacks when and if we post responses and/or ads?
I think a separate ad board is a good idea actually. If they were to do that, I think they should do a better job with the available geographical areas in which to post an ad. For example, the state of FL has it's own board, yet there is no Georgia, only Atlanta? Each state should have it's own ad board for posting ads in my opinion.
I don't know why our participation on the discussion boards prevents you from gaining the knowledge and reviews that help you in selecting which provider you like to see though?
I guess I'm one of those weird people who actually likes change.
Thanks
Funny, but almost always from people who don't bother to post anything of substance. What they are doing, in effect, is whinging because they are not being entertained sufficiently.
It's not that the boards have been taken over by providers - they can only post one ad in a 7 day period, so they aren't flooding the boards with ads. It is also not that the moderators are censoring the posters unreasonably. You can't post negative comments on a provider's weekly ad thread - but you can start your own thread to bash her if you wish, IF you have something of substance like a NCNS, B&S, upsell etc. You can't out personal information, you can't post racist or wildly off topic stuff. Pretty harsh, eh?
If your local board is dead, do something about it. Post something interesting, start a discussion, ask a question but do something. If you think the moderator is the problem, volunteer to be the moderator and fix it that way.
But if all you want to do is whine about it, you can do that too - see, there isn't as much censorship as you thought, because that gets posted too.
This is an argument perhaps for a completely new thread. However for response sake, it is NOT what you have described.
The boards (some anyway) HAVE been taken over by providers ads. One only has to take the time to count them against the discussion thread ads. I'm no going to single out which regional boards I am referring to, but come on you're a mod you know which one's and you know who I am as well.
Also THERE ARE some moderators who DO take down posts that give the slightest hint of negativity about the provider or her ad. That is just a plain simple fact and I have been the recipient of such take downs as have others. I and many other gents on the board do not need to be reminded of what is what with that link. The link does not speak to the heart of the problem.
Now if that is the direction TER wants to go. Fine, it's their board and they can do what ever they want. But membership wanes constantly when the fun stuff is gone from the discussion forums even though it is a small percentage of whey people use TER, it's still a percentage of the bottom line.
The OP has some valid points. Do I want ladies to go away? Not a chance. I want them to participate, create more discussions, to start more threads, to get into train wrecks and cat fights too. Be part of the fun. Frankly though there is only a very small number of providers that bother with the discussion forum trash day to day, because they are busy doing other things, either appointment wise or family and other day to day life things.
"You can't post negative comments on a provider's weekly ad thread - but you can start your own thread to bash her if you wish, IF you have something of substance like a NCNS, B&S, upsell etc."
A provider gets one ad in a 7 day period. If she has one butthurt client who wants to fuck with her money all he has to do is hijack her ad thread and turn it into a train wreck and she looks like a drama queen. The only way to be fair about it, IMO, is to prohibit such posts ON HER AD THREAD. Why is that a problem?
And no, I don't know who you are. I don't moderate this forum, and we don't out aliases to each other.
It's better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
"IF you have something of substance like a NCNS, B&S, upsell etc.""
I have many times had something of substance. Believe me when I say I KNOW my regional board. If girls are know to be discuising themselves as someone they are not and it is pointed out then the post gets pulled. That is just a plain factoid.
Or perhaps it's just certain mod's but I digress.
The Candle? Let's all petition for a providers ad board, where no mongers can respond. They can read them but can not say anything negative OR positive. That kills two birds with one stone. She is not insulted and having to put herself out as a drama queen as you point out and it does away with incessant shilling by mongers who do not even have a review to their name. lol
Yeah that's the ticket.
"IF you have something of substance like a NCNS, B&S, up sell etc.""
Post that as a new thread & not on her add on the regional board, it should stay up if you're factual & not vicious about it.
I do like having a separate regional add board only where the dudes can't respond, I've seen that on other boards.
I've had a few reviews taken down by TER, and when I ask for an explanation, it's not given. Faye Graydon was one. All I wanted to do was warn hobbyists that her pictures on her website are not her. She's notably heavier and the face is not her, it's some model shot obviously. But they took the review down AFTER it had been accepted and posted. It would be nice if there could be explanations posted. For example, if someone did a search to TER and saw "Provider information removed due to threats by provider", then that pretty much warns everyone. Also, letting the reviewer know what they did to get the review removed would help them know what not to do in the future.
as the posts are otherwise compliant. If you don't like the way the boards are flowing, counter them with your own posts.
Follow the old saying and BE THE PIG. "In a bacon and egg breakfast, the chicken is involved, but the pig is committed."
I would rather not be bacon. lol
That's all well and good and the reviews section accomplishes it's goal better than any other escort site in my opinion.

The horse is dead, providers aren't going anywhere, so just GTF over it.
Maybe in some cases it would be GTF over yourself, with some of the charmers we have.
No one is saying that providers should go anywhere. Just that the ones who are big enough that they've eaten the dead horse, and with crappy attitudes, should STFU once in a while.
(or get a job as a WalMart greeter)
That's all.
Have a lovely day everyone! ![]()
TER HAS BECOME A WOMEN'S SITE RUN BY WOMEN FOR WOMEN.
The original mission many feel has been abandoned on TER boards. Men are angry about it. Don't blame me, I'm just the messenger. It's what everyone is saying back channel, on other sites, at parties, and on the streets.
There needs to be a concerted effort to change this.
But peddling BS, fictionalizing back channel stories and using the "everyone is saying" as an excuse to create your own reality is simply asinine.
Trying to appear authoritative with a screen name that gives the impression you're an insider with TER is simply dishonest. Another example of Alias misuses.
To read board posts for the last three weeks I don't know how you come up with "TER HAS BECOME A WOMAN'S SITE RUN BY WOMAN FOR WOMAN" The trashing of providers and anyone who agrees with a provider opinion is the worst I've seen in the 9 months I've been coming here.
The people ruining this site are:
__ the ones who can't miss an opportunity to trash another poster every time a post appears they may disagree with. Be it Man or Woman.
__the one who whine about providers this providers that, and spew hatred everywhere.
__the ones who are so intolerant of others that can't let a good deed go by unpunished.
Whether its the economy or simply the self loathing of many men who try to use this hobby and this site as weapon to mask their own insecurities, and not enjoy the hobby for what I feel it should be, A business transaction between consenting adults where both parties walk away with a win win situation.
Since my name is Dumbjock, I really appreciate it when someone posts something I'd have said. It saves me the trouble of thinking.
That's certainly the case of some of the regional boards. Guys don't appear to want to say anything because they don't want to upset the ladies. WTF? You can have an opinion and agree to disagree, but that's too much like common sense.
list is 90% male for 30 days, and 100% male for 3 months and six months. So at least in terms of GD Board post frequency, there is a very heavy male voice.
The Legal Corner and P & R are also male dominated.
There is a bigger female presence on the regionnal board buts if you took the ads out that would rebalance male as well.
A women's site run by women for women is not my perception at all.
Not posting much because of device failure, but your point is quite valid.
The OP does not like some posts because they offend his sense of style. It would seem the OP is arguing for mandatory style guidelines.
If
"TER HAS BECOME A WOMEN'S SITE RUN BY WOMEN FOR WOMEN"
You would think there would be some evidence that your statement was factual. Not heresay "back channel, party discussions.
Go to the Top 10 posters list for the last 30 days, 3 months and 6 months. If you had started here you would see that there is only 1 provider listed on all three lists.
If I was going to accuse anyone of "taking over" it would MP67, Johngalt, mrfisher, samarty1101 upncumming53 and GAGambler andOldSP. Since they post consistently and always appear on the top 10 list.
But I don't complain about them because when they say something I don't agree with, or simply get into boring "old boy" posting using the board and sort of IM between themselves, I just ignore it and move on to the next.
All of them have something worthwhile to say, maybe not every day but all do at some point. (OK maybe not Smarty1101)
Forget the GD board. Hobbying is local and regional, like politics. Locally many men have noticed that the boards are highly censored, that moderators and politically correct rules prevent men from being men, and many men have left. Long time hobbyists are leaving and feel the site is no longer a man's place. TER local boards are virtually all women (or have you not noticed)???
TER's boards now starting to resemble another site's boards (think canine) where there are no conversations, just provider ads. New rules & Mods that serve as gestapo have exacerbated the situation.
I'd like to see TER flourish again!
I repeat,I am not a member of TER's administration.
You can't pull stuff out of thin air or out our ass and call it research.
You say... "man men" have noticed the boards are censored" Where is your data? What men, in what region? I don't see it.
Are you sure this isn't a figment of your imagination. What you want to be true?
"Long time hobbyists are leaving..."
Again, where is your proof? The numbers on all the Boards do not support your point.
Me thinkith you have some hair across your ass regarding one or more providers and feel like projecting your angst on the entire TER site.
No one is keeping you here, no body is forcing you to read or write posts. You do so exercising your right to communicate.
Funny thing about that, NO WHERE does it say the providers don't have the same right to communicate.
Did it ever occur to you that most people here have no problem with it? So maybe your should hit the road with "many men" and "Longtime hobbyist" and spread your warmth on another site.
Well, as I have confessed in previous posts, I am an annoying numbers geek. So I decided to put your theory to the test. I randomly selected 3 regions that are among the more active discussion boards. Here is what I found:
Region #1: has 3 providers appearing among the Top 10 posters. The highest ranked provider had 44 posts in the previous 30 days. That works out to an average of 1.44 posts per day. Her lower ranked compatriots each averaged 0.99 posts per day. Yes, they certainly dominate that particular board.
Region #2: Ok, this one actually was fairly well dominated by the ladies. Six providers made up the Top 10 Posters, and the most prolific among them had 42 posts to her credit, for an average of 1.4 posts per day. What ARE they thinking in that city??? Ladies! Get busy humping! You shouldn't have TIME to make at least one post every day!!!
Region #3: Again, 3 ladies earned a spot in the Top 10 list. The most prolific lady has 77 posts to her credit for an average of 2.5 posts per day. Someone needs to tell her she is WAY, WAY too talkative, clearly doesn't spend enough time getting busy with being busy, and her business is surely suffering for it. Oh wait, I checked out her reviews. They were stellar. So that theory goes out the window.
Finally, let us look at the GD board. One, just one lonely lady clings to the very bottom of the Top 10 list, and has a paltry 103 posts to her credit. Poor dear. She really needs to work harder if she wants to run with the Big Dogs. She would need to more than double her posting rate to be in contention for a top spot.
As for me? I was mortified to discover I don't make the cut on any board, for any time period. I've been slacking!
So now my question Mr. Mission Statement, is would you please point us to posts that give you the impression that this site is now "by women for women"? Please link to as many posts as necessary to support your sentiment. I would have been willing to give your statement some face value credit, had it not been for the laughable "and on the streets" topper. I just had to chuckle at that one.
Here is one of your examples
"Region #2: Ok, this one actually was fairly well dominated by the ladies. Six providers made up the Top 10 Posters, and the most prolific among them had 42 posts to her credit, for an average of 1.4 posts per day. What ARE they thinking in that city??? Ladies! Get busy humping! You shouldn't have TIME to make at least one post every day!!!
Ooops looks somewhat familiar, but onto the reality of at least MY previous commentary. Mr. Mission Statement can fend for him/herself.
Of the 6 ladies on that sample I would never accuse any single on of them as being a "Post Whore". In fact, they are all upstanding providers in that community and more often than not I bet are contributing in constructive ways to individual threads as they come on board. No problem, none what so ever.
I ask you to go back to those same sample and #2 in particular and do a different count. Count the total number of threads say for 4 pages. We already know the system is set at 25 threads per page, so0 okay 100 threads. Now how many are nothing but ad posts by OP providers. That is my point. Shocking isn't it? Are some regional boards going to the dumps? Yes and there if proof of that in the numbers. Is it a Woman's Site, Run By Woman and For Woman? I seriously doubt that.
Some science can be apples and oranges and often is, hell look at the prophets of global warming.
However, can I say again? Is there room for an ad posting board only withing the system?
Just kidding! LMAO
Just start more discussion threads. First off, I didn't even mention which particular regions I sampled from. I didn't want any particular provider being singled out simply because she is listed in the Top 10 in a particular region.
As far as ad threads dominating the page in any particular region, that is an easy fix. Start talking. Get your fellow hobbyists talking. Post threads, discuss, chit chat, shoot the breeze, gather round the watering hole and swap some whoppers. It really is that simple. Frankly, I can't figure out where the idea comes from that provider ads somehow shut down other conversation. If there is a lack of discussions, it isn't the fault of profuse provider ads, BUT provider ads certainly do become dominating on a board when there is a LACK of other discussion.
So the real question is, if a particular city had a lively and robust discussion, and no longer does, WHY? It is NOT because too many providers are posting ads, and it is NOT because too many providers are chatting in general. If you want provider free discussion, you have that, its called the Reviewers board. If your theory, or the theory of the original poster holds any water, then I must assume that the Reviewers board must be the most active board on all of TER. I haven't the slightest clue what goes on there, but I'd be willing to bet my favorite garter belt that it is not in fact the busiest or liveliest discussion board. Just a hunch.
without those "ad posts" those particular boards would have no activity whatsoever. just sayin...
Men don't come on an escort critique site to listen to angry big mouth providers that can't shut up. Men hear that shit from their wives & GFs. Your nasty type is why men see providers in the first place.
Do you really think your bitterness is attractive? Have you sought help for your anger?
I reiterate I am not a member of the TER administration.
Ok, I am heartily chastened by what I am sure is intended to be constuctive cricisism. To ensure that I am able to fully recover from my wayward ways, I am including a link to all of my posts for the last 60 days. Please, I beg of you Sir, tell me exactly which ones were bitter, or mouthy. Your illumination of my errors will be most edifying.
Maybe you turned over a new leaf, but anyone's that's been around knows you have a mouth on you and that is not all bad, but many of your posts in previous months were bitter, angry, creepy and scary. You have a history (goes back a couple years I am guessing) of disagreeing with people then you use an in-your-face approach to get heard and start your tirade. It's really a kind of tyranny, actually. Just because we express things differently or say them in a way that might not suit your fancy, doesn't make us all misogynists. Your battle with the mods was not good and regardless you kept coming back for more. You stormed out vowing not to return and yet here you are. So you see, a lot of your credibility as a contributor was shot. My .02.
posts. She's been a very long time contributor to the boards, and even though we may not always agree, she has just has much voice as anyone on here.
The following is directed generally, not at you, Radcow.
We all make mistakes on the boards. Under alias or not. However, in the give and take of a discussion, especially a real time one, nobody should be judged completely by a few posts.
Having said all of that, if someone doesn't like anyone's posts on the board or posting history, that person should counter it with their own. If some feel that a certain group has taken over the boards, then the answer is to post, not complain or be silent. Silence perpetuates that which you don't like.
The community makes the boards what they are. Post early, post often, but for Christ's sake, post.
-- Modified on 2/16/2010 11:39:02 AM
Honestly Rad, that is an error of perception. If you go back through my posts (you don't really have to, I doubt you are really that interested), you will see that the one and only time I ever REALLY came uncorked it was directed at one person in particular. It is true that I at times have a very acerbic wit, and yup my tongue can be razor sharp sometimes. Despite that, if you go back and look at some of the more outrageous train wrecks we've had, particualrly recently, you will find that if I even show up on the thread at all, it is usually to respond to others who responded to the original poster. Rarely do I waste my time responding to whoever started a thread that was clearly intended to cause a reaction.
As far as in your face responses go, yeah, I can be pretty mouthy when I want to be. The word "misogynist" though, is not one that I use with great frequency. I actually know what it means, so I don't bandy it about like an overused catch phrase. We certainly do have a few men on this board who absolutely fit the textbook definition of a misogynist though. Make no mistake about that. I really have to take exception to the "its kind of a tyranny" comment though. You are perfectly free to say whatever you wish to say. I make free use of my right to disagree - loudly when warranted - with you or whoever says something I happen to disagree with. That isn't tyranny, that is freedom of speech at its finest.
The mods though, were a different story, and I have absolutely no regrets about a single post I made. All I've ever said was that rules were being applied inconsistently, posts were being cherry picked for approval or removal. I'll defend your right, and anyone else's right, to say what they want to say, as long as they follow the rules while saying. Rules were not being followed, the result was a board that was just disgusting, and I put my foot down about it. Simple as that.
Furthermore, I never, ever said I would never return. I said I was "climbing out of the cesspool", and that was exactly what I did. I left for a couple of weeks, and if the board were still as bad today as it was when I wrote that post, I would still be gone. You may not see it, but the board has in fact changed significantly. Why should I impose a forever exile on myself when the changes that were needed have been made? I've never been one to cut off my nose to spite my face.
At the end of the day though, I don't much worry about how much credibility I have. I don't much worry about how much business I might be driving away by my posts either. Perhaps I have a luxury other women don't in that respect. At best, perhaps 10% of my clients are TER members. I would say its probably less than that. TER has never been the major website in my area. So I seriously doubt that a single gentleman reading my posts on this board was ever a legitimate prospect. On top of that, any man who would be turned off because a woman speaks up and voices her opinion probably isn't going to be someone I would want to see anyways. So its not much of a loss. That is why I have to chuckle when someone 'chastises' a lady for posting something that might hurt her business.
PS. One last thing. I have to apologize. Your name should have been mentioned when I made my list of people I'd like to boink a week or so ago. I'm not sure which category to put you in though - the GILFs or AILFs - at times you fit both categories. I am aghast that I failed to mention you. Please forgive the unintional ommission ![]()
I see your point and if I am an 'A' or 'G,' I guess I should be honored for anyone wanting to boink me. In all fairness, it may be perception. I can't recall you and I getting into it personally and I have nothing against you, but I can't say I ever understood the year end tirade you went on.
You mostly fit G, but not unlike me, when you want to you can rub elbows with the A group with ease ![]()
And no, we've never gone head to head, unless you were wearing an alias and I was unaware of who I was speaking to. I don't think aliases are your thing though. Often times, I have agreed with what you say, even if I disagree with how you choose to say it. About the only thing I've ever seen you write that I disagreed completely with, was the idea that hobbyist and providers can't be friends. Or something like that. It was part of your "10 Rules for Hobbying" post. That has been exactly the opposite of my experience. But that thread spun completely out of control, so I never felt an urge to chime in with my nickle on it.
But nah, I like ya. Mostly ![]()
We're cool and thinking about the post, it was a POV, nothing else. But mean-spirited people would rather attack the ideas with BS because they can't write or think for themselves or have a useful debate. Besides, it easy to sling shit and beer from the cheap seats and hide behind an alias. Back to the post, let's say it was a cautionary tale for the less sophisticated that get their hearts stomped out. I don't expect you to agree with me and I know I might come across harsh and matter of fact, but again, it's an opinion and like most things on these pages, why take them so serious that it makes someone sick? Be good or be real good at it. BTW, I am flattered that my words make you "hot."
Bitter and angry = women who don't take abuse from woman hating assholes on the GD. Oh yeah, found those "angry and bitter" posts by Sins yet? LoL
...I seriously doubt that this site has turned more for the providers interests then the clients...
It is what it is. You don't have to stay if you don't like it. None of us do...
in the hump day report!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
fuck man!! lol
