I have never been in a situation where I felt the lady I was with was trafficked. Quite the opposite in fact. Well there was the one time I seen a Terry's girl, but in fairness she didn't know Terry would turn on her when she tried to leave. May he rot in prison. And she was pimped not really trafficked. He never had physical control. He mostly just threatened. Anyway enough of that.  

What would you do if you thought a woman you seen or was going to see was trafficked?

I am asking because a lady I am close to was and the subject came up today because her nightmares have returned. She haw PTSD. She hates to talk in the phone because her pimp caught her on the phone and choked her until she passed out. It was brutal. Fact is she seen more than one guy a day. Some of them had to have known given she was beaten fairly often. Thing is no one helped her. Years later she still is haunted. She wanted me to make people know trafficking is real. I know and she knows most in this game are here of their own free will. I am not debating that, but some aren't. Back in 2010 there was a lady known to many from TER that was involved as she helped here pimp abduct a lady so it has touched more than my friend and I. Anyway do you have a plan if you get wind of it. People in the hobby are more likely to stumble on a bad situation than others.

I have a plan. If she will let me I will get her away from her handlers. I know of a shelter that will help. I would also give LE everything I know. Fuck the risk to me. Somethings a man must to to be a man and protecting those who can't protect themselves is one of them. Anything else,I should do? What would you do?

Some may know who my friend is or who the woman I am talking about who tried to traffick anther. Please keep that information to ones self. My intent is not to out anyone's past but to talk about real stuff that while is the exception does very much exist.

Foe those that don't know, Terry was a pimp who ran an agency here in Utah, Idaho, and California. His MO was to recruit ladies that where new off of Backpage. He promised the world to these ladies the word and failed to deliver. When the tried to leave he would threaten violent outcomes. He was later busted. He was not a true trafficker as he never had physical control of his victims and while I after looking for cases involving him committing acts of violence I failed to find reliable evidence of such. I did hear him threaten a lady I knew though. It was the closest thing to trafficking I ran across in my hobby career. I did help the lady deal with the ass. Long may he rot in prison. He is the reason I will never see anther agency girl again. It wasn't until after I learned what was happening.

That was my real question, what would you do if you found out after the fact/ during the appointment? A great many seen hear seen the lady busted in 2010. My friend seen hundreds of clients I doubt they knew going in, most likely didn't going out. Though with the beatings I know some must have known after the fact. I didn't know who Terry was until aftera lady had me listen in on his threats. I would like to think none if us would knowingly see a trafficker or a trafficked lady knowingly, but there is a chance we may come across one. I tried to avoid pimps but I still dealt with one.

1.  You can't trust what they tell you.

2.  You can't fix the underlying personal issues that put them in whatever situation that they may actually be in.

3.  LE is not anyone's friend, and unless she's underage, there's more of a chance of them fucking her over than helping her.

4.  Life is not like movies or books, you should stop watching the Lifetime Channel.

Finally,  if you do come across an underage girl, do everything in your power to get her some help.

Some one I meet in this life, "drop a dime" and burn the phone. IRL, family or close friend? The survivor will go on trial, facing life or a needle! nuff said.

 I cannot quiet put my thumb on it, but I suspect that at least some of the ladies are not fully independent, they just have more skilled "managers". I used to think I researched a lot, but in six months here I see I need to do more. Much more.

We all know that legislatures, all across the country, are gearing up, big time, to go after sex-trafficking - as well they should. Unfortunately, the way most are going about it is to look at the Johns as the target of enforcement.

We all say that it is important to distinguish between underage and trafficked victims and adults who escort of their own free will. But the answer of the religious right - and the answer of the politically correct left - is that all sex workers are victims - and all customers are enablers at best.

If a girl is underage - or if she is in this business as a result of force or coercion - does anyone not agree that she needs and deserves help? Hobbyists often have the best opportunity to recognize abusive situations and to offer that lifeline. But its almost crazy to do so because of the threats of violence from the pimps or criminal charges or exposure from the cops.

What if this industry advocated for laws that allowed a John to report abusive situations to the authorities, stay with the victim until help arrived, and then leave with immunity and complete anonymity.

If the goal is to attack sex-trafficking, this could help a lot more people than just about any of the current efforts. (Of course, the real goal of many of the crusaders is to stamp out prostitution. Not gonna get any support from those folks.)

What we need is someone to champion and promote such legislation (the sex industry needs a lobbying arm).

I have often wondered why it is that alot of men have no problem seeing girls who are obviously pimped or trafficked? Its so disturbing to me…  Then a decent person comes along with a conscience and wants to help only to be called Captain Save a Ho? And why is it that scum pimps get such a PC term like "Handler" or "Manager"?  They're pimps! They are nasty, weak and pathetic.  

If I suspected someone is a victim of trafficking I believe it is my moral duty to help that girl. Perhaps giving her the contact information of different agencies or programs that are able to give her a safe place and support? There is help out there, it might take some looking into but there are places that will help her without busting her or further traumatizing her.

If we are in a position to help someone, then by all means we should do it! What she chooses to do with that information is entirely up to her… but at least you know you did your part.

There was three ladies discussed in it. One my friend of year who was brutally beat. She was kept locked up. 15 years after the fact she still has nightmares and scars. She to this day gets uneasy on the phone for that was forbade and punished. She has PTSD. No one helped her. She got free when her pimp got busted for drugs which he used to keep his property mote managed.

The second was a popular TER provider from NM you was a trafficker. LE saved her and her pumps victim.

The third was a lady who willingly dealt with a agency that turned abusive. She was the only case I know the lady when she had an issue. Terry her then pimp was all bark and no bite and he was easily talked out of ever talking to the lady again. She left Terry on her own. And she was one of the ladies who helped LE deal with the abusive looser.

All three had reviews here. Some of you may have seen them. Some of you held your tongue.

You can't trust what anyone says but you gotta start somewhere.  
The key is to help someone who wants to be helped.

Just cuz she's smiling or unable to give an indication of such doesn't mean her handler/pimp/manager/boyfriend hasnt set up hidden surveillance, video, and/or listening in on her appointments.  
This ensures a more compliant victim. She knows that if she doesn't obey/noncompliant or says anything about it, she will pay dearly afterwards.  
. It's no secret...pimps are known to beat their stable, deprive victims of their basic living needs and even kill gals. Same goes for the gals that don't meet quota everyday....ass whoopin time.  

She knows this which prevents her from reaching out to the fellas/you/clients.

This is why we/you need to be their voice....speak up..and speak loud.

Here are a couple of things one might do, if you are convinced that there is a strong likelihood of trafficking.    
In most large US cities there are savvy organizations to help victims of trafficking -- you can google them to find one that helps, including safeguarding the victim and other measures.  In a case I was involved in, I called an agency and they said they would help but would only talk directly to the victim.  I had the devil's own time getting her to make the contact because she was scared and had good reason to be. Also, with her permission and a promise that I would not reveal her name or details, I contacted a US attorney who specialized in trafficking cases.  Somewhat to my surprise, she was sympathetic, but said she had to talk directly to the victim, who refused because she feared reprisals, not from the police but from her tormenter if LE arrested him.  After much back and forth, she finally contacted the agency and they took her in tow, got her a visa (she was illegal and in danger of being deported -- this is not easy to do), transferred her to another city and gave her a new identity.  Last I heard from her, she was safe, had a work visa, was out of the hobby but still poor (she had been a schoolteacher in her home country), much better off but still struggling. Bottom line:  trying to help and getting positive results aren't easy but I think there's an obligation to try

if the girl wants help.  If she doesn't want help, there's not much you can do about it.  I found a young girl (I think legal, though) who wanted out of the business badly, but was not willing to accept any agency's help.  I told her that I'd help however I could, but couldn't be her sugar daddy.  I did loan her a small amount of money which I never expected to see again.  She is too stubborn and prideful to accept my suggestions about support groups or agencies and is still stuck doing what she's doing, broke and miserable, but won't do anything about it.  She doesn't have a pimp, but did get suckered into a "trip to NYC" with a "friend" who sold her to a pimp.  She worked a couple weeks until she escaped.  Not at all a pretty story.

You and I are both drunks, but it doesn't mean we can't feel compassion for our fellow person.

If I ever suspected a provider I saw was being trafficked, I'd never see her again, even if she rocked my world beyond compare. I think, not sure, that a provider I saw was trafficked, only saw her the one time.

If a lady were to ever reach out to me for help to get out, I'd do all I could to help, with absolutely no expectation or acceptance of favors. If she isn't doing this of her own free will, then I would help her. It's by no means a Catin Save a ho, but more compassion for my fellow person.

I don't think it's many a provider that is trafficked to reach our to any of us though, and that is sad.

the idea that even though she smiles, she may still be trafficked, so you should save her. That's that whole Stockholm syndrome/ false consciousness thing that is indeed an issue, especially in domestic violence, but it deprives people of their own voices too. I know for a fact that just like zguy above said, most "anti trafficking" orgs are really out to stamp out prostitution. One has to be so careful when deciding to "help" by contacting an organization like Polaris, because often their help means coming to Jesus or turning in a pimp (never mind that there may not actually be one!) in order to receive help. If you follow the philosophical and theoretical underpinnings of any of the most well funded anti trafficking orgs you'll find a small collection of names pop up over and over, and they've been anti prostitution, anti porn, anti stripping, anti anything sexual that isn't lesbian or  hetero and married since the sexual revolution. Seriously. And they will use the "false consciousness" argument against you, no matter how loudly you scream that you're here by choice. Just look at what's going on with Project Rose in AZ. It's a full-on assault on all adult consensual providers. You risk persecution just for putting up an Eros ad there.

If one does come across a situation where all kinds of inner alarms are going off, I recommend the following organization. They are focused on the individual, offer legal help and other resources, and don't demand you come to Jesus. Based in New York, they may also be able to put you in touch with someone in your own region who can help.

pimps posing as clients (passing a thorough screening) only to show up tryin to recruit me. This isn't an isolated incident...seem routine nowadays. The persistence is spooky..

Not that Im pew hoppin every Sunday but lets keep it real....they're the ones stepping up to the plate. Non-profits w wrap-around services are stepping up as well...but many are affiliate w religion.  
The legal help is good n all but there's a big gap being missed in helping these gals. A case plan involves several other needs-based elements that are imperative.  
Lumping prostitution w trafficking and telling all the hookers to duck cuz you black helicopters is...well, repressive.
