My new ATF IS a cop. Safe to play, or playing with fire?

That said, if he wanted to bust you, you'd be in jail now.  More of a risk for him than you at this point.

that have actually gone through with sessions to establish their credibility as a hobbyist while investigating a big org or agency.  Never heard of a cop working on a case ID'ing himself as a cop.  If he's a married cop, then you have a little leverage to at least keep things to a Mexican standoff if he gets out of line.  With that said, there have been cops who were also hobbyists.  Even some that were busted along with an org when the place or the girl got busted.

...really let you have it if I wasn't in the middle of a Chinese fire drill.

Not the appropriate nomenclature...Asian American please!

GaGambler358 reads

Mainly because the Chinese are known the world over as "Yellow Jews"

Not to mention the fact that Chinese people still in China are hardly known as "Asian American" No more than some black guy living in Darfur would have any idea what you were talking about if some dumb, but well meaning American called him "African American"

they are just like any other man and take their pants off one leg at a time...

I have a handful of regulars who are employed in LE and have never had any issues whatsoever in the 9 years of being a provider.

A lot of cops see hookers, and a lot of hookers see cops.

I wouldn't worry about it. As Jake said, if he was going to arrest you it would have happened already.

If you ever do get busted - nice to know folks who might be able to lose the paperwork....

All good points. Thank you! I verify hard, but nothing. I saw his cop hat and paycheck lying out, so I asked. He's cool af and with some great advice, I can't wait to so him again!

Seriously look at your screening process!
You found out he was a cop AFTER bumping genitals with you?
That's fucked up right there ........

How many clients give their real names and job info? Have you not seen the 100s of threads on the topic of real names and job info?
Most clients are screened via references, or verification sites like P411.

I think that one of our regular posters is retired LE from Boca Raton. I have no idea what he did in the hobby BEFORE he retired. He might have some valuable insight.

Since the horse is already out of the barn, so to speak, I'd just go with the flow. If he stays normal, all is well. If he does what any other non-LE guy would do to annoy you (too clingy, too demanding, NCNSes too much), then rein him in or cut him loose

Prostitute working in illegal business having cop has client

Not bragging jackass, I was looking for opinions, so zip it if you don't have any constructive to contribute.

GaGambler517 reads

to jackasses that is. lol

We have been asking, begging, pleading, demanding that Fancy "zip it" for months to no avail. My advice is to simply ignore her.

As for having a cop as a regular or even a favorite. Hey cops get horny too, you've already gone through the risky part which was seeing him for the first time. If you like him, he pays, he's nice, I don't see him as any higher risk than any other client at this point.

In my experience, "most" cops aren't any more concerned with busting hookers than they are busting pot smokers and the higher on the "food chain" they are, the less concerned they are about victimless crimes. You should be just fine, and who knows, it might come in handy to have a friend in LE someday.

As different as anybody else in any occupations.
But a word of advice: most will bite eventually.
Think about it.
As a police officer I could have had all the free civie sex that I could handle
So why is he paying?
You know him so I'd suggest you observe and make an informed decision.

Many of my clients could have plenty of "civie sex".  They choose to see a professional for a number of reasons.  Why should a police officer be any different?  I've had a few police officers as clients and they were just like any other gentleman.

Then you didn't see them for very long.
I was a homicide detective in one of America's largest cities.
You'd be surprised by how many cops go bad.
They're not hired because they're boy scouts.
Boy scouts don't kick in doors and fight bad guys in the middle of the night.
PTSD is prevalent.
If you need the money go for it.
If you don't I'd stay away

It's a nice, simple, no-strings transaction.  And that has zip to do with being LE or not.

You're wrong.
Cops get ingrained with a privilege attitude after a while.
So many store owners, kiosk keepers etc give you free stuff you get used to it.
Besides, most of the cops I know are paying alimony and child support.
They don't have that much disposable income.
Yes, they're men too but a much different viewpoint on life.
Probably why most cops hang out with other cops in cop bars.
The groupies are called badge bunnies and are always available.
Many are young and athletic.

How sure are you that he is a cop?  Guys buy cop badges and use them to impress gals from time to time.  One gal told me about such a situation.

Try calling his precinct and asking for him

If you are going to call his precinct I'd suggest you block your number or use a burner phone...NOT your hobby phone.
PD caller IDs in most major departments have to be very sophisticated for several reasons.

But good advice, Mr F.

I would recommend that you NOT call the precinct. By the way, is he uniformed or plainclothed?

Another set of questions: Is this guy packing heat? Does he bring it to your meetings?

When you block your number from being sent, it only blocks "regular" recipients, like most of us. When you call an 800 number, your number is not blocked. When you call other designated agencies or services (911), your number is not blocked and I would assume that includes Police and Fire. Even if your number is "apparently" blocked ("Private Number" shows up when I get blocked calls), there are electronic records that can find the true caller, if needed. Digital records are cheap and easy to keep and they go deep.

I don't know about spoofed numbers that sophisticated hackers know how to do. According to my latest research done by watching some TV crime show, those are still hard to track down. ("The perp is using a spoofed number. We only have 22 minutes to track him down by other means!"

Not true.
Depends on which department (and their equipment) and what type of phone you're using.

"I thought I once made a mistake, but I was wrong."  :-)  Did I over-generalize?

Can you clarify?

On the receiving end, if a department doesn't bother with showing blocked numbers (civilian staffed Lost and Found Desk or other civvie dept?), can't they still go back and dig into the records later? ("Someone called us between 2:30 and 3:00 on Thursday and asked for Sergeant Pepper.  Find out the caller's number."

On the sending end, aren't most modern (non-hacked, non-rooted, non-criminally modified) phones equipped to be identified to their network carrier? And land lines are hard wired to their carriers, too. For us amateurs, isn't our "do not send number" feature is very simple and basic and not going to fool LE?

For a regular "employment check" call from someone using a regular cell phone, will a simple "do not send number" stand against an official higher tech investigation?

Thanks for your service: former service in LE and current service to TER

You've been watching too much tv, my friend.
Most major cities have sub standard equipment in all areas
Want proof?
Why do you think all cities tell cell phone users to provide actual street addresses for emergency services?
Otherwise they can't find you...literally.
And they're not going to triangulate a cell for a random call.

People have to register a physical address for their 911 service calls from their phone and many people don't do that. But their phone NUMBER shows up on the consoles, right? Even if "do not send number" is turned on.

Some 800 businesses can definitely ID your phone number, even when "do not send number" is on. Maybe it's a level of service that they pay extra for ... so they can call you back repeatedly when you decide not to buy in to their special offer.

For safety's sake, I assume that they can ID and trace blocked numbers ... even if they are a few upgrades behind in their technology. Proceed with "blocked" calls at your own risk

You're wrong. Sorry
Only on tv do they have equipment that sophisticated
Try watching more Cops than CSI and you'll see the difference.
Hell, most of the time we'd have been happy with basic computers let alone the gear you're referring to.

First, I don't know what you are thinking.  Or anyone else with this:  'Cops are people too' insanity.

Sure, see people who want to put you in jail.  People who's JOB it is to put you in jail - and you and others think this is smart?

Oh, he's nice - blah blah blah bullshit.  Y'all act like you never had a client turn bad.  Imagine how it is with a cop?  Seriously, this is common sense.  Piss him off and watch him be nice, and mysteriously you and your friends get busted.  The stories I have heard over the years....

And ethically:  SHAME on any escort who sucks the dick of those that main goal is to put the boots to us.  How do you reconcile this in your head?  Want a laundry list of the things 'your new atf' co-workers do to us?  Want the links about the violence or the fact that they call our murders "nhi" = no humans involved.  And the ones who don't do that - they hang out with the ones who do and dont seem to have a professional problem with it.

Clients - take note of providers who state they do this.  And run like hell.  And all of you saying they have more to lose, seriously?

Well, this is why I'm asking the community. I'm seriously torn, and I appreciate your input and POV.

are the same people who say clients should never give out their real names or employment info.

I do not trust Cops when it comes to HobbyLand.
Cops lie.
Cops manipulate
Cops can find out all of your personal information easier than you think!
Cops can be vindictive!  Suppose he becomes too clingy and you want to end it.  He has the potential to make your life miserable.
I have granted unconditional pardons and commuted death sentences to Life in Prison during my tenure as Governor. But I have never involved myself in the judicial processes when dealing with overzealous Cops and Prosecutors!
Break it off !  You are playing with fire!

The Scorpion and the Frog

A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the
scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The
frog asks, "How do I know you won't sting me?" The scorpion
says, "Because if I do, I will die too."

The frog is satisfied, and they set out, but in midstream,
the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of
paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown,
but has just enough time to gasp "Why?"

Replies the scorpion: "Its my nature..."

---- If we have professions (and not jobs that are our only options) - we gravitate to what we do because it suits our nature. Accountants are not sales people for a reason just like police officers are not social workers for a reason too.

Well, if you're talking to me it's a moot point.
Got into medicine, no longer live near the city where I carried a shield.
And I maintained a different set of values. I went right from two deployments into LE. I never developed the "us vs them" mentality.
Regardless, I'm amused by all these people who are concerned about who will or won't see them
I've only had one denial in all these years
